LOL.... this kicks ass. I played and loved this game for 2 years. It's good to see SOE is shitting their pants after BURNING the core player base of the game. Now they can't recover the subscribtions. Star Wars can make such a rich MMO. I'd like to see someone else start from scratch and make a new game.

I was having a great time playing GW until the lack of MMO feel to it started to bug me. I know it's not an MMORPG in the traditional sense, but that's what I'm looking for.
WoW sucks, so I won't be playing that "cutesy" game anytime soon. I' hoping LOTRO or CONAN will be decent until we see a good Sci-Fi mmo.

Someone may have already said this but:
id's disconnection with the community has more to do with a lack of innovation in their game content than anything else. Carmack always pushes the tech forward, but the games are pretty boring to play. Quake 4 felt like a "B" title on an "AAA" engine. I'm hoping ET:Quake Wars really shines.
I'm also hoping the new IP they are working on kicks ass. I'd like to see id rise back to the top. I haven't though much of their games since Quake 2.

The Neo-New Wave movement out there sucks ass. I'm not saying that just because I listen to mostly hard-alternative rock, but because I was around when "New Wave" was here the first time. These new bands sound like a bunch of whining bitches with little or no talent, IMO.

The Lord of the Rings Online Europe Website is online, announcing that Codemasters will publish the Tolkien-inspired MMORPG in Europe. The European edition of the game will feature larger outdoor areas than the American version, so that the French can turn and run further away from low level creatures. Among other enhancements, each player who connects to a French server will be equipped with a white surrender flag by default, and all weapons will be replaced by safety equipment. "It looks sort of funny seeing a Dwarf in a hockey helmet at first" said a Codemasters spokesperson, "but we think our French players will enjoy the +2 Head Armor and -1 Fear stats it offers". German players will be happy to know that all references to Nazis were removed from the European version as well.

Out of the blue? It's still in development and anyone who knows anything about MMOs has been tracking this game for probably 2 years now, lol. I will forgive you though, becaue they just changed the name this last year. They were calling it "Middle Earth Online" for qite a while. Ring a bell?
BTW, the game looks pretty good in screenshots. Who knows how it will play, but it sounds like they have a lot of good ideas and tech going into it.

While DDO is a turd, I think Lotro looks and sounds really good. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I fucking HATE WoW, so I hope something else decent comes along soon. It's bad enough I have to play a fantasy themed MMO because there are no decent Sci-Fi MMOs.
