Right now I'm trying to get through the existing content: "The Texture-Popping Revolution", "The Microtransaction Prisoner", and "Killed by Stuttering".

I don't seem to be suffering any of those problems. Oh, right...I skipped this one.

I played it. I didn't experience the texture popping.

I enjoyed the game. I found most of the performance issues to be overblown. I can only think of one glitch I encountered on my playthrough.

I am still shocked that ALL OF STEAM is equal to one of League of Legends.

I am still shocked that SOME PEOPLE don't know what the word "concurrent" means.

Or maybe he's comparing Apples to Apples.

In January 2014, LoL had 7.5 million concurrent users.
In December 2014, it had 11.4 million concurrent viewers of Season 4 Championships.

So, yeah, on the basis of concurrent users, all of Steam equals LoL.

There are somewhere around 20 millions steam users in one form or another.

Strike that, in 2013 Gaben said there were 65 millions users on Steam.

Heh, you may want to go back and refresh your memory then. Crysis got bitched to hell and beyond for being unable to maintain any kind of performance whatsoever, no matter the rig thrown at it. (and it's funny that ten years later, their whole "it's future proofed" thing still doesn't bear out, as even today it still runs like shit.)

In any case, I don't mind a game pushing the graphical envelope, but I do mind a game that tries to push the graphical envelope and can't do so without massive performance issues that require somewhere in the lines of 8 GB worth of 'patches' (read: massive alterations to lighting and the overall map) to fix. YMMV.

And let's just call a spade a spade, it's a shitty fucking port. They just bareboned the entire thing onto DirectX and were really quite surprised when Windows choked the fucking hell out of it.

There was one odd thing about the game that someone at Ubi might want to look into. Every time I went to the map screen, my video card temps went up like ten degrees. When I left the map screen, they would go back down.

Yeah, no, that sounds great. It's definitely a well-made game!

As I said, it ran fine for me. I never said it was a well-made game. I certainly got better performance out of Unity than I did out of Crysis.

When I left the map screen, they would go back down. No other game has had this effect on my system, and I've never gotten temps as high as I do on the map screen.

My theory on people's framerate issues is that they're going to the map and their video card is heating up. Since most normal pcs don't have good air flow, it's probably triggering the thermal threshold and downclocking the card.

Again I played AC Unity on a GTX 970 at 1080P on Ultra and it was playable for me.

PC Gamers are always crowing about our graphics being the best. Ignoring actual bugs, since when did hardware pushing games become something to whine about? AC Unity is one of the best looking games I have ever played, it's today's Crysis. I don't remember this much bitching when Crysis came out.

Wow did you guys see the size of that thing!? (ahahahah twss)

6.7GB, holy shit. Then again, since this is the patch where they gimp the entire map, after having already gimped the lighting system, it makes sense that it'd be so big.

For those who played it in the first week, remember how it looked. You likely won't see it look that way again.

Good thing I finished it already.

I don't get the hate for businesses trying new things to acquire money. Making money is the point of a business after all. And it's not like they switched their entire business model to this. I see this as an attempt to try something new(however silly it is). It will probably fail, but good on them for giving it a shot.

You delay that rational thought soldier.

Agreeing with Cutter. The market has spoken clearly on this and people's toleration for poor release quality is at a new low.

Is it? AC:Unity sold fucking freight trains full of copies... There will always be idiots who buy plain broken games then go and defend the game and the publisher everywhere they can, and are perfectly fine with buying something only to have it takes six to twelve months before it even becomes playable.

I bought AC Unity for PC - played it and finished it. I didn't encounter any major game stopping bugs myself.

Some of you guys might need to move to ISIS controlled Iran/Syria or something, where all women are forced to walk around fully covered, and you can feel more relaxed.

Also learning the difference between facts and innuendo might be helpful.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. You want to dress and act like trash that's how you're going to get treated. Women dressed modestly and professionally don't run into those sorts of problems. It's not rocket surgery and has nothing to do with men being pigs and everything to do with evolutionary traits that pertain to sex and sexual signals. You don't undo millions of years of genetic hardwiring in a few years because of some uptight PC assholes. Learn to deal with it already.

Typical blame the woman for the man's behavior bullshit. It shouldn't matter if she was nude - control yourself.
