No date set yet, but probably near the end or soon after Summer...

Hi!

Yes, Consortium dev here. Still lurking and occassionally posting. I love that this site has continued unchanged for so long since the old days. Kudos to Blue for keeping on!

Yes. iDGi released too early, and should have used Early Access. But they fixed the major bugs in a manner of days. The issue is you-tube videos that stick around and give a false impression to folks.

CONSORTIUM is a rare breed of game. Single player first-person, story and character driven sci-fi. The likes of which only mass effect even compares. You shouldn't let an old you-tube video prevent you from having a potentially awesome gaming experience now.

Regarding those negative reviews that point to the game length as an issue.

Unlike every single other story driven game in existence, Consortium actually has a large amount of content that can only be seen in replaying and making different choices. There are multiple branches that can cause some significant changes to how the story unfolds.

The issue is that if someone were to play this like any other game, just go from objective to objective, they may not realize this.

Consortium rewards players for deviating from what the game tells you to do, exploring and experimenting. You will be surprised how much the game reacts and responds to your agency and respects your free-will.

Blue, CONSORTIUM is not a tower defense game. More like first-person sci-fi interactive narrative / action adventure.

If I may quote from our FAQ regarding this subject:

"So why are we asking for $50,000 now? It's the bare minimum needed by us to insure we can finish the game by this Summer without delay. $200K would be a dream amount for us, as we would be able to restore cut features and content that we would love to see make it into the game, which was the original intent of the first campaign. The stretch goals we envision for this campaign are very specific, and will be revealed upon us getting close to our first goal.

With $50,000, the entire team would be able to spend three additional months finishing and polishing the game AND be able to feed our families and power our computers at the same time. Some business expenses needed for being able to sell the game would also be covered, and of course we would also be able to produce the t-shirts, posters and other swag we're offering here. "

Just to clarify, the game takes place entirely aboard a massive jumbo jet. It is technically an open world game, but on a micro scale, with each crew member being fully realized and interact-able and with the entire plane brought to life in a way never seen before in any game. If something looks interact-able in the game world, it will be.

The art style is not final yet, we are still actively improving it, but we very purposely working to make our game feel very unique and original and completely different from the standard "dark and grungy photo-realism" of so many other games.

To invoke other games, CONSORTIUM could be described as what you might get if Half-Life, Deus Ex and Mass Effect had a baby, but with highly stylized visuals.
