It's just not bluesy.

Plus I prefer the days of blue and voodooextreme when there wasn't a massive social mess and a constant reminder of it.

Just gonna chime in here again I'm *extremely* hopeful for Godus.

My first true multiplayer experience was Populous in 1991. We ran a null modem cable to our Amiga's through the windows of our Air Force dorms and played so much we ached.

So yes I'm biased -- I always held out hope for good ole Pete.

Having looked at their goals per dollar, I think they can pull it off easily. They aren't offering everything under the sun for a few bucks -- 500k gets you an additional ship, a million for better cutscenes, etc.

Those kind of realistic goals give people confidence that they won't be wasting their money. Time will tell...

News Comments > Steam Trade Offers Launch

Between steam sales and indie bundles providing steam keys, I get titles ridiculously cheap with the benefit of only ONE digital distro app.

Only other place I'll buy is direct download (like amazon or GoG) so I don't have to run more apps... haven't bothered with physical media for umpteen years.

I'm sure you got the full game experience in 11 minutes of game time.

My experience in games says I did, so you're right.

Played it for 15 minutes. 4 of those minutes were waiting in the lobby timeout to count down, 11 of them were run-of-the-mill team-based shooter gameplay that brings nothing at all to the table. Uninstalled.

Of all the games Pete M ever made, his best were when he had almost complete control from Bullfrog, pretty much every one is considered an overwhelming success (tho I played them on my Amiga!)

Looking forward to Godus. If it does as well as I hope, I wanna see a Magic Carpet sequel!!!

News Comments > Diablo III Patch to "Cut the Legs Out from the Auction House"
5. Re: Diablo III Patch to Aug 29, 2013, 21:45 Axis

Lets fix that statement:

“It is profitable for us when you go buy something instantly, the instant 'gotcha' feel, that 'we took noobs for a ride' high,” he said, “however after the honeymoon of nubs spending was over, we were no longer seeing much profit and want to appear like we care with this new update.

It’s not that we care, we just wanna sell more units and the expansion while appearing to tone the RMAH down for a variety of reasons. They'll still tend to check the auction house first and play the game second, and that's good for our coffers -- we'll still rake over the noobs all over again.”

We designed the game to be online, we can't do offline even if we wanted to guys!!

I remember the Blizzard defense force doing their best to justify that one too, look pretty dumb now.

Funny how none of those folks post much anymore. Go figure.

Oh they're still posting, they just hide the fact we were right all along about D3 and joined the 'hating' bandwagon since it's the 'in' thing now...

Quest dialog was skippable, cut scenes were not, and there's a ton as expected.

Regardless, I cannot stand the "Hee Hee", "...", "Huh?", excessive small talk dribble of JPGS to the point of nausea.

After the first hour of being unable to skip annoying JRPG cut scenes I knew it was NOT the game for me.

Oh, and nice way to spin the bugs... YES WE SOLD TOO MANY!!

I adopted firefox during the days most people had no idea what open source was, and I still prefer it.

FF with noscript has no equal imo, and the only bloated browser is still IE. Safari always sucked, but then again I never liked Macs either so I'm biased.

Having played both WOTR and Chivalry, I came to this conclusion:

WOTR is more enjoyable long term and had a deeper strategy.
Chivalry is more enjoyable initially and was more accessible for newbies.

So while neither held my attention for too long, I got more out of WOTR. Didn't play either as much as M&B.

Then again... I would never buy an ATI card, or even adopt Windows 7 quickly when this was released. Especially then when almost every game had Nvidia GPU's and WinXP in mind.

Most games had no issues with Windows 7 and they literally advertised AMD on the intro screen of the game. THQ was just shitty about the PC version, end of story.

Sometimes a refund is perfectly reasonable and Steam does not automatically provide them in all cases. I think this is a good step for the market in general, more rights for consumers with digital products instead of less is hard to argue against.

I can see where you're coming from. I just never trust anyone but myself to have the best chance at a working game which is why I still have and use my XP option to boot.
