"Don't use Opera, and don't let Bob choose your antivirus"

Funny...

This test was ran as plain vanilla, no addons - it's exactly as one would expect. Shitty IE is forced to come up to par with a noscript Firefox.

MS was forced to add this type of detection built in with their Smartfilter, application reputation, and others types of prevention functionality because of their dwindling reputation. Essentially Microsoft's homemade 'add-ons' for their crap proprietary browser.

The things that MS now built into IE 9 is no different than add-ons any savvy tech automatically load into Firefox. I don't know anyone who uses Firefox without Noscript, and nothing gets through - ever.

Maybe it'll fool some people to run their bloatware, I'm sure MS hopes so.

That is why I would like Project Eternity or whatever the name is to be a RPG with Coop. We will do what is needed on our side to make it work. BG's had it etc. What gets my knickers is the SP guy who has a problem with having it as an option. I'm not saying get rid of SP.

I have high hopes for Project Eternity too I'm a sucker for old school DnD type games of any flavor usually.

HorrorScope wrote on Sep 28, 2012, 21:14:
And there are very very very few non-mmo coop RPG's. Look now Dungeon Lords MMXXII was just released, a coop RPG, lol. Will they get it right this time?

This wasn't even on my radar, thanks for the heads up!

Now why would they even do that? Considering that this is not a FPS...

I was being sarcastic, seeing how Syndicate was an incredible game back in the day... but it was not a fps yet the recent 'remake' was.

I'm looking forward to this, I spent so much time playing the original on my c64. I have a feeling nostalgia will give it a more positive experience for me even if it's not amazing.

But if they turn it into a FPS like my beloved syndicate... they can go fluff off!

FWIW and honestly, playing TL2 on anything lower then Veteren is basically watching a movie. Their two bottom difficulties are insultingly easy. You deserved to challenge yourself more.

I totally agree man. I do stuff on normal to see if it's worth me putting the time in on higher difficulties. I love a good challenge, always do hardcore characters on games I dig. But the game has got to be worth my time and I can figure that out pretty quickly in ez modes.

Fair enough. I only play coop, not saying you do or not, I couldn't play this genre any other way.

I don't play co-op, I find it annoying at best - one guy is blasting through content, another is staring at every loot stat for an hour, one is half afk, etc. Since you are essentially playing a single player game with one or a few others with lan-multi like TL2, the frustration is not worth it and meaningless to me. Unless of course you have a few friends with the same mindset and pace as you to make it enjoyable, but for me this doesn't happen often enough to pursue it.

I do however prefer multiplayer groups with server side characters like D2 and PoE, but usually only all-out full groups endgame since endgame is loot hunt time.

Wow do you ever blow through games. If I was that hard to satisfy, I'd definitely be a lot lot lot more picky dropping dollars. I really like TL2 and BL2, I like BL2 a little better, probably because I like FP perspective over top-down and why not? It's a ton more immersive and puts you in the world. Once there it's the same ARPG formula.

Ya Im pretty picky believe it or not, I only play RPG's, Arpgs and FPS's. I tend to stick to one FPS so I can hone the skills (I still clan when Ive the time), and I'll splurge on new games occasionally.

I played the crap outta BL1, and I didn't finish nor plan on finishing BL2 even thought I thought I would, got pretty tired of it unfortunately. TL2 finished normal and don't see myself doing any more of that. GW2 I did blow some serious time on initially, but I (and many people) do that on any mmo-type game.

If anything I wanna shit or get off the pot. I know what I like and what I'm looking for -- If I play the hell outta it and want more, it's a good game. Otherwise it's no different than a couple nights at the movies.

Are they paying you money for promoting them in every Blues thread?

In any case...TL2 is a fine game. It builds on the first one and has enough that is different about it to make it worth playing.

Titan Quest stills stand as my favourite aRPG and so I'm patiently waiting for Grim Dawn to appear...but no rush...plenty to play in the interim.

If they paid me a buck for every thread I post about them I'd be like a whole $5 richer!

Now if Crave paid you for talking about Titan Quest you'd make about $20!!

I talk about what is relevant, and I don't play the wishing and shitting in hands game...

I'll say it as well. TL2 is pretty boring indeed. Not happy with the state of d3, but to say that TL2 is better is just being jaded and having no clue about better ARPG's that came before such as Titan Quest. On its worst day d3 beats TL2.

Have to disagree because while I think it's far from perfect, TL2 is a better pure ARPG than D3 on its best day. The terrible randomization, weapon damage based skill system and so on make it a really boring and linear game. There is a lot of quality of life stuff in D3 that I wish other games had but that comes from the big budget approach. I still think Diablo 2 is the best ARPG ever made and no current game surpasses it. Maybe Grim Dawn, let's hope one of these hits it out of the park.

D2 having been king has more to do with its time in computing and multiplayer history than being a great game, even tho it was a great game for reasons other than just it's timeline.

Passion. That's the key to making a great game. Passion.

And PoE most definitely is a product of passion - it surpasses D2 in so many ways already, too many to mention -- you can discover them yourself if you play it for any amount of time. It also has an unsurpassed league system (which most have no idea of if they haven't been in the beta for long), is not afraid to break out of the 'tried and true' garbage, on and on. Not to mention the incredible communication between devs and customers and vice versa.

But TL2 is supposed to hold Dades over till Grim Dawn as he mentioned anyway -- that's gonna be a looooong ass time Dades good luck!

So my post is more for everyone else who is already done with TL2, BL2, or even GW2, etc like myself who wants to see what a real ARPG feels like in the 21st century.

Only worthy successor to D2 is... Path of Exile. End of story, nothing else can touch it.

In my quake clanning days you couldn't pay me to run D3D over OGL, everyone ran opengl without a thought as it was mainstream and solid... microsoft was the waterboy.

I'd love to see Microsoft carry more water to the big boys in the future. I'd like Apple to too, but they are pretty much void in the desktop realm for gaming anyway, and all in on the ipoop stuff...

Bungie "whored out" when they stopped producing quality games on the PC so they could sleep in MS's xbox bed. I still have some of the fondest memories of Myth TFL, and even th original halo.

Gonna make a prediction here...

Steam on Linux will change how people perceive linux forever. All it takes is a mainstream AAA company to do this -- bring mainstream gaming to Linux-- something reverberated in the linux world for ages by most users. Add that Valve who has one of the best reputations in the business, we're going to finally see Linux adoptions by more ordinary users en mass. It'll take some time, but leave no doubt this will be the reason.

I got on this back in November of 2010....the game has come a long way...I haven't played it much in the past year though, just dabbling when they put out new builds every once in a while. I'm not sure it's what I expected the end product to be, but I guess I'll have to wait on that judgement till the final build anyhow. :-)

Wow it has been that long... mine was October 19th 2010.

The reviewer "got it" just fine with the Dark Souls soulless port -- A shit port -- what else is there to say?

I didn't notice rage, just the expected "Not again..." feeling you get when you play a shitty port of a supposedly great console game, and the confirmation that most console games have very low expectations to begin with.
