The only thing I didn't like is the limited resources. I know it's more realistic and it makes things more challenging, but it gets too hectic!

News Comments > No Star Wars Battlefront Server Browser
31. Re: No Star Wars Battlefront Server Browser Sep 2, 2015, 14:11 Gib007

I've just read that I can ask for a refund from a pre-order within seven days of the game's release. I think I will do that now that I know there's no server browser.

That's purely laziness. The Battlelog infrastructure is there and all new Battlefield games seem to use it. Why not simply extend it to Star Wars: Battlefront so PC players are honoured to some extent? This is totally unacceptable.

[EDIT]: I just got my refund processed by talking to an EA Game Advisor. The guy was really nice and helpful and I managed to avert myself of the impending Star Wars: Battlefront disaster. I will buy this game again if it ever gets a Server Browser.

I love my LG Flatron 34UM95-P monitor. Working on a 3440x1440 monitor is insanely productive and gaming on it is brilliant with the FOV provided. I run it with two EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW cards in SLI. Runs anything really well in my experience.

There are a couple of reasons why some of us want bots in the full game.

1) When EA shuts the servers down in a year and you want to play still
2) Less cheating
3) Sometimes you just don't want to play multiplayer with people

I get what you mean about the EA servers, but they won't last a mere year. We'll probably be looking at various full-price sequels when the servers finally shut down. Look at Battlefield 3 and 4 - those are still going VERY strongly. This is Star Wars merged with Battlefield - it'll last.

Did anyone really think this game would be identical to what it would have been 10 years ago? With the age of always-on, fast Internet access being commonplace, the likes of split-screen and LAN gaming are only a memory. The same kind of applies to the idea of bots roaming maps in place of human players. I used to love bots, but only because I had a 56kbps modem as an Internet connection and had to pay hourly to be online, with after 18:00 being "cheap rate". Nowadays with fibre optic Internet? Nah!

Having said that, I realise there are some features some people would have liked to see in this game, such as space battles, 64 player limit, prequel stuff, etc. Some of these things may come as DLC (yes, yes, I know, nowadays we pay double for a game if we want it complete, especially with EA). So far my only real disappointment is the 40 player limit.

Normally, buying Bose or Beats just means you haven't really researched the topic of headphones properly. I have Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250Ohm headphones running through an amplifier on a Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR, which has the same Texas Instruments amplifier than some FiiO amplifiers have. I also modified the headphones with some Dynamat. Now THAT beats the crap out of Beats anytime of the day or night (pun intended).

And I always want to ask: MD or PhD?
Otherwise, GTFO.

Whoa ok, this got my attention. I have very fond memories of Battlezone. I also remember some technical limitations of the time, some of which Battlezone 2 addressed (like the number of units). I hope this remake addresses them as well and isn't a direct copy-paste with updated graphics.

Sounds like a personal issue. You'd think that someone that plays games as a hobby would have gotten over any "childish" insecurities about it a long time ago.

I've played and finished all 3 of the previous Arkham games and can't wait to play this one.

Not that it should matter, but all of the Arkham titles are "mature" games.

You'd think so, but 28 years old and still going strong. I hate those bunny ears and the "superhero vs supervillain" style. Cringe-worthy stuff.

What they need to do, really, is add lots more point-to-point tracks to Project CARS. Constant circuits are boring as hell. The physics and graphics are down - just get the gameplay in point-to-point tracks and it's golden.

Pretty safe to say the blue haired princes is going to be the most popular allegiance.

She is pretty damn hot, to be fair! But I've pledged to a guy pointing a finger at me. His main focus is combat so I'd rather deal with his missions. Having said that, though I've pledged, I haven't put in enough time just now to test out the Powerplay system and explore its intricacies. I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing yet!

I might give this game a go. My brother has just had a hissy fit and is totally unwilling to play it because 3D Vision support for it is "Not Recommended". He keeps going on about how 3D Vision is the future and how ALL games should support it. Sadly very few seem to.

He's so very wrong. 3D Vision sucks. About 99% of the people I've ever met even fucking hate the 3D glasses cinema bullshit yet they keep trying to push it down our throat. Virtual Reality is the future? Sure, I can accept that. 3D Vision? Give me a fucking break and tell your brother to grow the fuck up.

While I agree with you, having had a 3D Vision monitor with the glasses myself, you should consider scaling down the tone in your reply a bit. I do this: Imagine you're standing in front of someone in person and are having the conversation - how does it sound best? I guess the answer to that depends on upbringing, education, cultural background, etc.

I agree. I was hungry, tired, and pissed off at work

No problem - I often get cranky at work myself, hehe.

I'm more interested in knowing if we're getting bots in the game. My PC doesn't have a Dolby Atmos setup.

No heavily-multiplayer games these days feature or at least depend on bots. Look at how Battlefield games dropped bots completely. We're in the day and age of fast, always-on Internet access. Multiplayer is the key. My only gripe is the proposed 40 player limit.

Not too expensive for the retards who buy this game for $60 and premium at $60 plus whatever else EA has lined up as paid DLC. Those are the kind of retards who will buy anything.

Thanks. I pre-ordered this and will buy Premium too. It's Star Wars.
