Any Bluers play this? The reviews all say, "play this if you didn't like Diablo4, and you think Path of Exile is too hard." I don't think PoE is too hard... So I'm curious what you folks think about it.

The guitar one was pricey with all the DLC. I bought PianoVision for $10 and load any midi file I want.

I've tried a few times over the years to learn piano, and I've never heard of this! Any suggestions about where to find midi files for songs?

I've never played any AC games. Can I just jump into one, or do I need to start 19 versions back or I'd be totally lost? And does anyone have a recommendation of the best modern AC game to try, and/or modern ones that I should skip?

Has anyone personally used an Arc card here, or know of someone first hand that has? I'm still running a 1070 from the pre crypto mining days, and it's really starting to struggle on newer games. But I've heard the 40xx line of Nvidia cards are pretty low on GPU memory. Since I like to get 3-5 years out of a gaming PC, I'm curious if the Arc is the right way to go, or just struggle-bus until the 50xx cards next year?

I feel bad for this game. It legitimately tried a unique gaming mechanism - every round you play as a new character, but the previous characters are all still there, doing what you had them do. So your character from last round can shoot and kill someone two rounds later.

I feel like trying new gaming mechanisms should be rewarded. But as soon as I saw this game, I knew it would be very short lived. The concept is way too complex for the average player, and relying so heavily on multiplayer, but being a paid game and a complex paid game seemed like a death sentence. Right now it has 4 players online.

I commend them for trying something new.

It's decent, but it's nowhere close to being the best. PoE is just lightyears ahead.

I still like both games! PoE is way more detailed, and I feel like I can make mistakes that are hard to undo; similar to Diablo 2. And of course the skill map is unreal. It is the only free-to-play game I've ever put money into. During a sale I bought a ten pack of chest tabs to support them, and because I horde loot like a dragon!

Diablo 3 is a much more casual game, almost reminding me of those 1990s side scrolling beat'em-up games. It's impossible to make a mistake that can't be undone just by going back to town and changing your skills.

I'm not giving Blizzard a pass on the crazy fall from one of the best game design companies of all times to mobile game monetization. But Diablo's cutscenes have always been fantastic, and it's a fun, non-serious game. I haven't downloaded whatever their Diablo mobile game is, and very unlikely to get Diablo 4 unless dramatic changes are made.

These folks are awesome... I have no interest in playing the game, but I have played Farming Simulators and other simulators and totally get the appeal. I put on a show or podcast on the other screen, and just chill out playing a game that is not terribly difficult. It's complete relaxation! Sim games are awesome!

Ok, I've only ever bought one in-game-purchase, and that was the free Diablo-esk-genre Path of Exile; where you can buy skins and backpacks for real money. They had a sale many years ago and I had played 100+ hours so I bought the 10-bag pack for maybe $30.

But, is a crazy expensive skin abhorrent? Or deserving of a chiding? I don't really think so.

If someone wants to play a free to play game that I play and pay the developers hundreds of dollars to wear a bright pink skin that says "whoever reads this is a poor boi" I don't care! The developers need to make money, and they can either do that by charging me $60 one time, or by charging Bobby Rich Boy for every fancy skin.

My opinion is that as long as the ingame purchase doesn't make their character more effective at the game, developers should be free to sell any decorative items to willing customers at whatever price they will pay!

No one who has played and enjoyed Autonauts ever thought that this was what was missing from the game... PvE combat. In a game like this, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to add combat to the game. Instead, they should have focused on fixing bugs and expanding the current game's feature set. What a strange direction they decided to take this in.

That's interesting that you say that, because I felt exactly the same way! I absolutely LOVE Autonauts. I've spent over 400 hours on it, building the most crazy setups of bots that build bots, bots that make tools, bots that recharge bots. The challenge is balancing resources. Never once did I think, "this relaxing game would be more fun with an arbitrary combat requirement."

I haven't played a COD game since Black Ops, which looks like it was 12 years ago (yikes I'm old). But every once in a while I miss the FPS free for all / team death match games. I'm not a fan of battle royal games where you start with nothing and have to spend a ton of time trying to find a gun.

Are any of the recent COD games any good? Or is there another series that might fill that niche?

Any Blueers have any opinions on this game? The graphics look like sheet, and if I hadn't heard the praise from multiple sites, and now sales data, I wouldn't give this half a look.

I did love Stardew Valley though, and the graphics are not that much different than that.

If Blue plays video games at work, is it slacking off or research? And does he reprimand himself?

Brave's built in ad-blocker and Ublock Origin on Firefox already does this for free. Why would I pay for it?

I still won't buy it, but mobile on an iPhone is one reason. Every so often I want to show a 15 second funny clip, and inevitably, it will be ruined by two 30-second ads.

I remember paying $50 more for my first Kindle that had a cell connection. I had all these grand dreams of sitting on a lounge chair by the beach, casually scrolling through books and buying one; all without touching a computer.

I never used the cellular data service once.

OMD2 was probably my favorite two person co-op game I've ever played! I progressed through the whole campaign with a friend, and it is so much more fun with two people!

I'll need to look into OMD3 and see if they got rid of the freeium garbage that was the one after OMD2.

I'm sure it will never pass, but isn't that clearly a First Amendment violation? Of course Amazon is free to do whatever they want to combat fake reviews; being a private organization. But the government throwing you in jail for written speech? There's no case to be made that a fake review falls into the "Fighting Words" exception to the First Amendment, so I don't see how a law like that could even be remotely considered.

Hah-hah, nice comment, Blue...;) One of the oddest things I've come across in recent years is a belief that the dollar-store computers used to "self-drive" automobiles are better drivers than human beings.
They don't have to be better than the average driver. They just have to be better than all the drunk, tired, distracted, selfish, angry, lazy and drugged up drivers on the road that are wreaking havoc with people's lives. And there's no disputing that computers have much faster reaction times than humans and benefit from complete vision of their entire surroundings.

Self-driving vehicles are inevitable. It really is only a matter of time. And yes, there will still be a lot of edge cases to address for decades and decades to come.

I absolutely agree that self-driving vehicles are inevitable, and I think the data shows they are already 10x better at avoiding crashes than humans. But I think we are a long ways away from wide adoption, and I don't know the solution. Even presented with concrete data that "self driving vehicles reduce your risk of a crash 10x" my wife still believes she is better than a self driving vehicle and absolutely will not consider one. For some reason, the average person ignores the 12.4/100k annual death rate for vehicle crashes and focuses on the dozen (or less) that automated cars have.

I totally agree that the technology needs to improve and will improve, but there will never be a time in the next hundred years that there are zero automated car deaths. The bar should be fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles, which was 1.1 in 2019. But for every 500 million miles an automated car drives, all that people will remember is the 1 person that died. In every other area we'd say an 80% reduction in deaths is an incredible achievement. But in automated cars, people seem ready to throw the whole technology out.

Damn, that's a huge increase in wattage. How thick are those new cables going to be.
Can someone explain to me how a USB-C connector (not the USB-C standard) is more better than USB Micro-B.

I also just saw a cross section of a USB C cable for the first time a few weeks ago and I was blown away! It has eight high voltage wires that can do up to 3 amps at 20V, an entire set of legacy USB2.0 pins, pins for display port over USB C, and the 8 pins for high speed USB data. I had no idea a thin 1/2" or thinner $10 cable was so impressively engineered!
