Waiting for the $PEPE, $SHIB and $DOGE support. Time for some support of stable currencies based on solid economic fundamentals...

[...] But TFP is right, once you understand the mechanics of it (which are far from new), you know that it is a bubble based on hype. A bubble that is already beginning to deflate. There is nothing to get excited about because it is an incredibly immature technology.

I see this LLM hype in the same way that I saw VR hype in the 90s. People who were all in on the hype yelled from the rooftops with great enthusiasm "This is the future! The future is now!" Well, here we are decades later and VR has a market share of 2.24% according to the latest Steam stats. [...]

Amen.

We live in an age of grift and baseless hypecycles. Until that ends none of this "revolutionary technology" or the businesses hawking it will be evaluated objectively.

Installed 2.0 on release day, but not the expansion. Yes it’s a major overhaul but it doesn’t make the core of the game any better. For the most part I play CP2077 because of its visual presentation- which is stunning imo. I never had the urge to beat the game and that didn’t change with v2.0.

Give the expansion a try! The story is pretty good and better than the original.

and still, the quality of CP2077 is, was and will always be far below the milestone that Witcher 3 was. Just my 5c.

Have you tried it since the 2.0 patch and also Phantom Liberty expansion? It's like a new game they fixed and improved so much...

An unsubstantiated rumour is circulating that in reality, this is the true cause:

I don't have much time here, so I'll be brief. The US DoD is shitting its pants because the F-35 was actually shot down by what was apparently small arms fire. While I don't know specifics, we do know it was large caliber (.50 BMG or similar) that engaged it while it was performing hovering maneuvers. The pilot heard several "ping" (pilot's words, not mine) sounds before seeing warning lights appear. He or she (don't know that detail) ejected shortly afterwards. The plane was performing low speed maneuvers at approximately 2500 ft over a sparsely populated area know to local law enforcement as having militia activity., so those groups are prime suspects right now.

They have already retrieved parts of the airframe and this news came in about 2 hours ago. POTUS is already being briefed and federal LEOs are starting to investigate alongside military police.

The story they are putting out that they lost it is just to cover for the fact that American insurgents just downed the most capable airframe in the USMC's arsenal with commercially available small arms.

The DoD is taking the approach of appearing to be stupid when it is actually incredibly weak. I would not expect them to ever publicly release that a backwoods malitia downed this aircraft, as doing so would severely damage the already strained credibility of the armed forces. Even though I was part of the briefing, the details I was given are sparse due to the embarrassing nature of all of this.

Certainly sounds more credible than the "We lost it" story.

...

Yep, spot on. The game is a boring turd. Metacritic User Score is bang on; currently standing at 6.1 on Xbox. It's not terrible, but it's so lacking in immersion and tedious busywork you wonder how it was ever greenlit.

Frankly, whatever you think of Chris Roberts and Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous, Starfield shows you how far removed the two products are from Starfield and the feeling of actually being in space...

Agreed, deceptively simple gameplay loop but with lots of cool new mechanics, regions introduced along the way to keep you playing. Plus it's got a storyline and quests. Super impressive and well worth the cash.

I'm just not sure which mega-billion dollar corporation I should feel the most sorry for. I know they both have my best interests at heart, which makes choosing one all the more difficult.

What I don't understand is that it says Microsoft want to consummate the deal by July the 18th, but the FTC's original complaint isn't due to be heard until August. I guess that's why there's an injunction, which speaks to Microsoft's arrogance that they think they can ride rough shode over due process and just 'merge' even with a pending action...

US approves chicken made from cultivated cells, the nation's first 'lab-grown' meat.

Probably want to read this article first before gobbling that stuff down...

Exscript:

Some of the companies call their products cultured meat, or cultivated meat, or cell-cultured meat. All of them stress the M-word. “This is meat,” Upside Foods Inc. Chief Executive Officer Uma Valeti said at an industry conference a little more than a year ago. “Calling it anything else, I think, is going to be misleading.” On a cellular level, alternative protein advocates say, it’s no different. And that’s 99.9% true.

The big honking asterisk is that normal meat cells don’t just keep dividing forever. To get the cell cultures to grow at rates big enough to power a business, several companies, including the Big Three, are quietly using what are called immortalized cells, something most people have never eaten intentionally. Immortalized cells are a staple of medical research, but they are, technically speaking, precancerous and can be, in some cases, fully cancerous.

Re: Lords of the Fallen video, looks very pretty but they notice they don't showcase anything about environmental destruction. Chances are it'll be the same static environments, 99% indestructible or deformable except for the scripted events, with a few barrels and obligatory and unexplainable boxes scattered around as a poor alternative. Like running through a theme park and beating to death the mascots you come across.

No, the extreme grimdark of WH40k that borrows heavily from late WW1 technology mixed in with low grade fantasy writing really isn't for everybody. I enjoyed some of the WH40k games, but it's always a "well this is pretty good, but it probably could have been better without the baggage of the license" type thing.

Try some Dan Abnett, probably the one of the pinnacles of Games Workshop lore writers, although he probably deserves a Booker prize given the quality of his storytelling.

Strongly suggest starting with the Eisenhorn series (Xenos is the first book) and the audio books read by the amazing Toby Longworth. Give yourself a few hours to see if you like it, pretty sure you'll find it utterly fantastic.

You can, ammo's not infinite though. It's a fantastic game, they learnt a lot from Vermintide and its sequel.

Makes a change for a Warhammer 40k property to be good.
