Beamer wrote on Aug 14, 2012, 13:56: Yeah, it's nuts. Someone brought up RE4. No one should ever buy RE4 on the PC for any reason. Force Capcom to realize they need to do better. If they stop PC ports, fine, it's no loss. After a while someone new will realize "hey, why aren't we taking advantage of that platform?" and realize it was due to crappy ports more than consumer disinterest. Force Unleashed 1 is another good example. Absolutely piss poor job on that port. Monkeys would code better. |

The writer of that article has some sort of "battered gamer" syndrome.
"It's ok, I'll keep buying the games and maybe they'll change! It'll get better as long as I behave..." |

The Pyro wrote on Aug 14, 2012, 12:09: Due to budget overruns Half-Life 3 is being released as a 16-bit-style JRPG. Gordon, the PhD Physicist, will team up with allies such Barney the Security Guard, D0g the robot, and Dr. Judith Mossman. Fight epic battles with up to 4 characters in your party at once! Customize each of your characters with their own unique skill trees, such as Gordon's "Silent Protaganist!" Harness the power of the elements to destroy your enemies with Bullets, Fire, Explosions, and Alien Energy! Gordon uses CROWBAR . . . It's super effective! |

Already on sale on their website and GOG. Also going to be on consoles. I'd heard of it but never really looked at it, that trailer piqued my interest. That's a lot of homages in a little over a minute. |

I'm kinda interested in this games multiplayer. I couldn't care less about Bioshock 2's multiplayer, but the environments for this one could lead to some interesting gameplay. Like the zip lines.

Cutter wrote on Aug 9, 2012, 15:28: Exactly. It's not like the US invaded NZ. That scumbag is a career criminal and he still hasn't got what he deserves IMO. And how exactly has he been denied due process? He's in court with his lawyers isn't he? That IS due process. NZ is an accomplice not a victim. Being in court is only PART of due process.
Edit: For clarification on my last point, take the example of the FBI denying access to materials that can be used for his defense. Or them saying that even if the case is dismissed by a judge they're going to freeze his assets indefinitely anyways.

Think about what your saying. Who says this behavior is limited to New Zealand? Is this man such a criminal that it cancels out the rule of law? Do you want a court system that affords criminals no protection by the law? In that case why not send out assassination squads to take out international copyright suspect? Screw due process, this guys a douche.

Verno wrote on Aug 9, 2012, 14:01: I think the guy is an idiot who got what he deserved regardless of the implications for the international community, end of story for me. The instant you allow due process to be pushed aside because "the guy deserved it" your screwed. Government does not give up power without a fight. In this instance it was used in a way you agree with, there is no guarantee you will agree with them the next time it happens. And by then its too late. |

| It happens to me occasionally. The other night I was downloading something while playing a game and when it finished winrar switched the focus. Game was smart enough to pause in that case though so no loss. Sometimes happens if I get a message in pidgin during a game too. Not enough of an issue to be worth paying for a fix though. |

Creston Damn straight. Not to mention firing people when they deny you access because you want to "snoop" something. Very depressing that laws even need to be passed to prevent it. |

One ST game to watch out for is a free fan made project called Excalibur. The guys making it are the same people who modded almost an entire new game out of one of the best ST games, Bridge Commander.
Videos
It's pretty far along, they've got a new custom engine running and actual gameplay going.
