Yeah, has nobody ever used the Wii? The sounds from the controller are fair-grounds tinny and distorted. It's distracting rather than immersive.

Keeping in mind of course this is Nintendo so they probably used the cheapest, crappiest speakers they could possibly find.

There was one game that I thought had a kinda neat use for the wiimote speaker. When you received a call in-game you put the controller to your ear and listened to the call through its speaker like it was an actual cell phone. In that case the tinny sound actually fits. In the end its still just a gimmick.

Kotaku is reporting Microsoft has dropped the mandatory requirement of using Kinect. Quotes from MS in article to prove it isn't just Kotaku clickbait.

Even the Flash would be impressed with how fast MS is backpedaling.

No issues with a 680 here....though I recognize that's a meaningless statistic. I have had issues with Nvidia in the past, like the "driver not responding" bug from a couple years ago so I feel peoples pain.

I actually enjoyed 12. Not as much as prior games but I liked the general game mechanics and the Starwars-esque story. And it looks great when played at 1080p on emu's. Compared to the mess that was 13 an XII-2 would have been preferred. Starring Balthier.

Wow, duck tales is truly a love it or hate it game. No reviews between 80 and 60.

Might be a generational thing.

Started playing Mass Effect 1 yesterday.....meh. Not a fan of squad commanding to kill a guy with a certain type of super secret weapon. He should just do it.

If you are referring to squad powers there should be an option to set automatic squad power usage, either full or defensive techs only. Unless they introduced that in ME2, can't remember.

I wouldn't mind F-Zero, but it's apparently not in the works, currently...

Same. I also wanted to see what Retro could do with more horespower. We get another DK Country. Yeah cause the WiiU really needs more 2D platformers right?

Hey just because most of us aren't Pedo Bears like you probably are doesn't mean we have things to hide too.

Everyone has things to hide. Everyone. Since the beginning of man. 99.99% of it isn't illegal. This is simple human nature. Foregoing what was historically private just because one uses modern communications technology (which become more and more necessary to function in society every day) in no way means everyone should expect to live in glass houses.

It's why I said forget the Orwellian crap for a moment. Obviously it's not ok and it pisses me off to no end. What I'm saying is - that aside - what the hell are these people sending they have to be worried about to begin with?

Less worry and more of the basic human need for privacy. Same reason people have blinds covering windows.

"Don’t worry, NSA says—we only “touch” 1.6% of daily global Internet traffic"

The other 98.4% is spam, porn and video streaming so you might as well admit you capture most of the communications.

Oh there's no stopping me. I've managed to find $1.83 in my couch cushions and also have earned $2.50 by whoring myself out to all the women in my area (at $5 a pop - it's complicated). Quick - somebody do the math to see how far I have to go!

Can I do the math like the Count?

"One! That's one time whoring yourself out.
Two! Two times whoring yourself out.
*fast forward*
Nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety six times whoring yourself out. Ah ah ah!"

You might get a bit tired by the end there. Pack a lunch.

I bought a replacement alarm clock last fall so they are still being sold, if more rarely. Most of the models I've seen have iphone docks now. I use mine as the primary alarm and my phone as a backup.

Half Life 3 confirmed! Somehow. Haven't figured the connection out yet.

Seriously though, classy move by Valve. Some other gaming companies could stand to adopt some of their practices.

Between this, Star Citizen next year and some recent and future indie efforts its nice to see both a resurgence of the genre and some titles pushing PC level hardware.

I know people enjoy making fun of him with the decline of ID's importance and the lukewarm reception of Rage, but this is a perfect fit for him. Pure tech, no worrying about content. Right up his alley. Hopefully his influence and coding experience will lead to increased Rift support for games old and new.

Why anyone in the Star Trek universe ever gets into a transporter is beyond explanation. Not even considering the fact that the fucking thing has a mishap every 12 episodes, or simply can't lock on to get your ass back every third episode, nobody would ever use one just because of the simple fact that it kills you and creates a perfect copy of you at the target destination.

I think I'll take the shuttle. Bones was right.

People continue to wear red despite the mounting death toll so apparently it isn't a clever universe. Must be all that beaming and magic food.
