Just hit 40 myself, if things are looking like that going forward then maybe I'll go complete the maps of the other races starter zones so the devs can iron out the higher level stuff.

I saw the guy talking about the lighting, what stood out to me was this part of the article:

"With that said, AMD has already mentioned that the next gen Xbox could produce Avatar-like graphics and the co-founder of Geomerics has followed in AMD's footsteps claiming that lighting capabilities could hit that benchmark as well."

The Geomerics guy could be right. AMD is talking bullshit though.

I should certainly hope we will what with the amount of time it's been since 360's release. It's been seven years. How's that for making you feel old? Seven years of chesthighwalls!

The fact it's lasted 7 years is part of the reason why I doubt we'll get a big boost. Developers for the most part don't want a lot more power, just enough to overcome some current handicaps (low ram, etc). Development costs are high enough already that a single failed game can collapse a company. And we're at the threshold where a lot more power isn't going to translate to as big an improvement in visuals as we've seen in the past.

I'll get to this eventually I guess. Between GW2, Sleeping Dogs and Borderlands 2 so much gaming goodness already.

Same. Knee deep in Guild Wars 2, FTL is out in 3 days, still need to open my copy of Last Story, and so on. Out of all the DLC packs this is probably the only one I'd want to buy. My favorite BF1942 maps were the big open tank ones like El Alamein so this is right up my alley.

And the idea of producing a game with art quality on par with Avatar makes most developers cringe at the development costs, so I doubt it. I still don't think we're going to see as big a spec bump as we normally do.

Crazy...because i've done that for years. Wireless mouse + wireless keyboard and the keyboard shortcut "Windows key" and the "+" button, go ahead give it a try.

Zooming in on an interface isn't the same as using an interface designed specifically for a TV.

Seriously I don't understand all the negativity. It's optional and it takes nothing away from the existing method.

So basically this is just a console controller interface for Steam, again showing where Valve places their priorities. Didn't they made some cool AAA games in the past? I can't remember anything lately but mod-ports...

Portal 2 came out last year. It's not like they crank out releases every 2 months...

Plus TF2 continues to get updates, DOTA 2 is out of beta soon, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive just came out.

Now if you want to talk Half Life then yeah I can understand that pain.

Might be useful. Any steam game that supports a controller I play on my TV already, just a quick windows key+p to swap monitors and I'm good to go. So anything that enhances that works for me.

? the Trading Post's been working fine for me for the last three days...

Creston

Works here too, I've made 50 silver selling marked up vendor stuff on the TP today alone. Good times.

TP occasionally stalls out on me but that's the only issue I have. Now that I dropped Tailor and switched to Huntsman I'm making great progress in both my professions (other is jeweller). Just about to hit level 30 and reach my 1st gold piece too.

I am even more pleased now that Ironclad(the makers of Sins of a Solar Empire series) broke away from Impulse/Stardock, even though they chose to go to Steam instead. Ideally they could have gone to gog.com, but oh well. Good enough.

Wardell sounds like a jackass in the forum link, what a shame. Still, Miseta will probably be found liable in some way for deleting the files, that's retaliation no matter what was done to her before, and affected a lot more people than just Wardell.

Unfortunately Stardock still has Galciv, which I adore. At the rate they're imploding I'm wondering if the series is finished.

Have a look at this delicious forum thread where Wardell decides to set the record straight. This guy is a few beers short of a 6-pack. I'll bet his lawyers love him right about now.

When you find yourself in a hole: STOP DIGGING

He just keeps digging that hole deeper. The one commenter on there is right, his lawyers are going to kill him for publicly discussing his ongoing case on an open forum.

Holy hell, if the stuff in that Kotaku article is accurate then Wardell is truly an ass of epic proportions. I didn't have any sympathy for the woman before when it was reported she sabotaged the company, I do now:

"E-mail messages included in the records go back as far as March, 2008, and include a link to a sexually explicit YouTube video, a comment that Miseta was chosen to go to a conference "not just because you're 'hot'," and a 100-question "purity test" that he asked her to take and then send him her score from. The purity test includes questions like, "Have you engaged in group sex?," "Have you engaged in intercourse with an unconscious person, while conscious?," and, "Have you had anal intercourse?""

Wall

Not cool man.

Yeah I doubt they're doing this out of the goodness of their heart, I'm guessing their sales went down. Nothing inspires change in a business faster than a decrease in revenue.

Regardless I do enjoy Ubi games and will reward them as long as they play nice.

That's the date they reveal Stevie 5, the wisecracking robot with Steve Jobs's brain implanted inside. Steve Guttenberg is involved somehow.

Its easy to rag on Microsoft, but when it comes to Win 7 64 they really nailed it. Granted its not like that was their first whack at it (Vista), but a success is a success. XP literally is too old at this point. I don't even want to think about all the boot drivers I'd have to collect just to make it start on my current rig.

DX11 support in a CODBLOPS console port? Credit where its due, even a lot of PC focused devs don't use 11 yet.
