Don't worry guys MS has you covered. If your PC won't boot they'll gladly sell you a Surface RT to replace it.

Last time I played Amnesia it was with the lights turned off and headphones on. I had to stop the game at one point my heart was racing. Haven't gone back to it yet because of backlog but no game has ever done that to me. If the guy ever backports to the Oculus Rift he may need to include heart attack warnings like big rollercoasters do.

Would someone be so kind as to explain to me what's wrong with STEAM(-only release)? Never having any issues with STEAM. It's my cosy little digital game library. <3

Matter of fact, if a game is NOT released on STEAM there's a huge chance I won't buy it, these days.

Some people like DRM free games. Others like to see competition. I too like Steam but that doesn't mean I want it to monopolize the market.

The most idiotic financial move of the decade? I recognise that GFWL sucks and I'm happy they're making moves to contain it, but the ramifications of this decision seem inconceivable.

If sales are low enough then the costs of maintaining the platform make it economically sound to shut it down. Given how despised GFWL is it seems like the only correct move to me. There's no way its even remotely close to the idiotic financial move of the decade, there are far bigger blunders in MS's history like Surface RT and Vista.

Imagine what could happen if the time and energy put towards comparing the worst of the two parties (who have 90% identical policies anyways) went instead toward supporting the few people on each side trying to undo the mess and aren't currently getting the support they need?

So what are the games that won't be available any longer? Just browsing through that store, seems everything is on Steam anyway.

BUT, before you celebrate too much, this doesn't mean GFWL as an online service and DRM scheme is going away... It's just the store, which nobody used. Even the desktop client will still be around so that people can access stuff they already have, just without an option to buy anything new. So this is the exact same situation as a few years back, before they launched the marketplace portion.

There's some evidence GFWL is being patched out of Bioshock 2 and Arkham City. I doubt all publishers will go back and patch it out but its a potentially good sign.

No surprise. Ask an MS rep what a PC is and they'll think its an Xbox dev kit.

......wow.....

Be interesting. We need a ps3 vs 360 count here....

I am willing to do both I guess. If people are going to play.

I was planning to wait for the PC version but it depends on how long my willpower holds out. If I cave it'll be PS3.

Dude, its being released on the same 8 year old hardware with more detail and bigger world, if you honestly believe it will be better then why even get a xb1/ps4 at all right?

Game engines evolve as developers learn to squeeze more power out of the hardware. Compare Mass Effect 1 to 3 for example. It holds true for older consoles as well, like Mario 1 vs Mario 3 or FFIV vs FFVI. New consoles are eventually needed as sooner or later you max out the hardware.

Edit: And in a head smackingly obvious additional example I missed, compared GTA3 to San Andreas.

Hey, Best Buy's excellent customer service is at it again!

It's just so BAFFLING that they're going under. I mean, what could POSSIBLY be the cause of that?

Die in a fire, Best Buy.

Would you like a Monster cable with that? If you don't use diamond crusted Monster cables it'll break your TV.

China is going the economic and hacking war route with the US and other western nations. Playing the long game.

sorry I meant physical warfare. Soldiers, missiles, etc. And from what I've read so far the Chinese cyberattacks are more about stealing tech and secrets than disrupting equipment.

What a bunch of imbecilic comments, you think having a slashed military or no military makes us safer? What happens when China or Russia decide to stick it to us are you gonna be out there with sling shots?! They are both arming and building up as fast as they can, just like in the playground the guy with the biggest stick wins. Period. Have fun in the goulag you libby b'stads!

China and Russia combined don't even spend half as much as the US does on military. China would never risk open war against its biggest customer. There is no rational argument that controlled cuts to the military will put anyone in danger.

They're not forced to do that. They do it because it's more profitable for them.

Skip down to about the 10th paragraph of this article to see how this anti-Walmart takes care of its employees.
Meet the Low-Key, Low-Cost Grocery Chain Being Called ‘Walmart’s Worst Nightmare’

Costco is another one that does right by its employees. Decent pay, good benefits, and the company is still profitable and growing. Analysts hate that.
