When will you realize that you're nothing to the company; and the company change/do whatever they want and whenever they want because their EULA--that you didnt read, but agreed to--says they can. Seeing as its an MMO, no none of that bothers me. Man those first world problems are a bitch. |

Not near as much fun as it was. That might explain why I rarely find yellow loot now. I used to follow the timer website for the dragon battles and pick up a few yellows per fight, now its all blue and green. |

| I still enjoy playing through older games that I liked back in the day, though like mch said the novelty wears off and I don't usually finish it. But going back and playing old games for the first time just doesn't seem to work with me. For example, I never played the original Xcom (Blashphemy! Gamer card revoked!), so I tried it before the new game was out. Yeeaaaahhhh, that didn't work out. Still bought the new one as the style of game appealed to me anyways but the old one was just too primitive for my taste. |

I guess because I grew up with the first few of those. I kept waiting for the John Williams Superman theme to kick in while I watched the trailer. |

Ideally they should give you an option to enter a minimum or average FPS to target. Then it monitors the performance of the game on your specific rig and uploads to "the cloud" (I too hate the cloud) so that when someone has matching specs they can use you as a baseline. And as people continue to play games this info gets uploaded and it automatically creates a database of all the thousands of hardware configs playing all the games. This way they don't need dedicated testers to try all those games (except maybe initially), its done automatically by us. Hell they might even be able to use that info to improve their drivers too.
I do get the privacy concerns though (should stay opt-in), and my idea does seem like overkill. But then again I know what 32x quantum refractive antialiasing with anisotemporal filtering is so I wouldn't benefit from it as much as a noob would |

Kabuto wrote on Dec 11, 2012, 16:35: It's too bad the wii u doesn't upscale wii games. That would have given people a big reason to upgrade ASAP despite the poor launch lineup. There is one possible minor improvement. The system is upscaling the output resolution (but not internal) so if your TV has a crappy SD upscaler the WiiU will do a better job scaling to your TV leading to a cleaner image.
Still no comparison to Dolphin or true upscaling sadly. One step forward and one step back. |

| I'll check it out when they have some better games. Mario sidescrollers don't have the appeal to me that they used too. Something like Mario Galaxy though I'd be interested...that was fun, pretty and had an awesome soundtrack to boot. I also eagerly wait to see what Retro can do with (comparatively) newer hardware. |

| I like this idea. I know how to set up my games and GPU settings, the issue is every time I do a clean driver install it wipes those GPU settings. If they have a utility that saves time on setting all those up again I'm all for it. Plus it helps out the casuals. |

I don't even understand what your argument is anymore. Is it that I secretly hate the casual market but give popcap some kind of pass? I didn't call for the closure of any other casual studio and last I checked there were way more than two devs. Popcap doesn't hold a candle to Zynga when it comes to stealing ideas.
Casual market ok, Zynga bad. Are we done here now? I certainly am. |

Quboid wrote on Dec 10, 2012, 21:30: Yes you did. You mentioned "Zinga" out of the blue on that thread, the only connection Zynga had to the topic was that they're both casual game companies. That's a clearly implied comparison. Nope. Popcap is a great studio, Zynga is run by talentless thieving hacks. I merely corrected the poster when he called for popcaps closure, nobody wants that. The target market has nothing to do with it.
Your still only at one.
As for people not wanting EA to influence Popcap. EA has a bad habit of torpedoing studios, we don't want that. |

And yes Popcap is pretty good. |

Oh Pachter, will you ever tire of being wrong?
Verno wrote on Dec 7, 2012, 11:36: It is a pretty ridiculous way to do it, like having your Steam library being tied to a specific hardware config or something. It wouldn't be Nintendo if they didn't make some obviously dumbass decision with a console release. It really is bizarre how they think. I still like their stuff but sometimes you want to smack them on their heads.
Edit: I think this quote sums up my opinion best. They can be surprisingly forward thinking on interface and design and incredibly backward on execution.

If they make the movie like how I play the games it'll be boring as hell.
Wait...wait.....oh he turned around...wait..WAIT....WAAAIIIIITTTT....and knock him out.
I'm guessing they'll Michael Bay it up a notch. |
