Good for them, great game at a more than reasonable price. There's a special sort of sad irony this came out so soon after the death of Maxis and turned out so well. The torch has been passed.

20 years, damn.

Love that game to bits. Fun plot, a goddamned amazing soundtrack, simple yet enjoyable gameplay. It's a damn shame the series has been stuck in limbo for so long, but then again they may no longer be able to put out something that great.

Maybe we should start a pool.

Does the winner get a hard drive big enough for the game?

Final install size doesn't bother me, gaming is headed that direction anyways. What is annoying are the massive patches that imo aren't worth it right now if you have bandwidth caps. I'm not bothering to log in until the art assets stop getting replaced and the Squadron 42 stuff starts being released in a year (or after the heat death of the universe).

That was me, but still making sure after today's patch that I was still not screwing something up on my end.

I really haven't gotten into ED as much as I thought I would, do we have a Blues News group in game or anything?

When my launcher starts there is a brief moment where it only shows the stars like you describe, but then the news fields and store buttons appear and everything looks correct. Maybe your launcher needs to be reinstalled?

We don't have DST here in SK, we just watch the rest of the world go out of sync with us once a year. Used to be a pain remembering when to watch a show pre-interwebs. But hey, we get our own custom time zone in windows. We're special!

Still using 2.2.1 here as well. There's a few private trackers I use that won't even allow recent versions. When this gets too old I'll switch to qbitorrent, or whatever the best alternative is at the time. utorrent seems to have abandoned it's original promise.

It'd take a special kind of dumb to try and bill PC gamers for half-baked Xbox Live features a second time around, so this isn't surprising. I know it's Microsoft and all but.....never mind they probably would try it again.

The SP campaign is about a group of robbers trying to steal enough money to be able purchase the game they're starring in.

We played a lot of that one, though it was the crappier SNES version. Good times.

Take the color test I linked. I'm curious to see the results. Because if you're not color blind either than it has to be a monitor contrast issue.

10 out of 10. Tried the picture on both my desktop monitor in natural light and my phone in artificial light, looks identical.

Edit: This reminds me of when I was a kid and a buddy and I discovered a 3d stereogram image making program on a BBS. We made what I saw was a spike coming out of the screen. He saw a narrow pit going into the screen. It was as wtf then as it is now. Still neat though, I like this brain perception stuff.

It looks absolutely white and gold while standing in a blue light here. The picture that makes it look more white looks like someone is fixing the influence of the blue light, everything else looks like a butchered photoshop or a different dress entirely. My brain just won't accept anything else. I can sorta understand how people are seeing blue but I don't get the black at all. Neat stuff.

Edit: Nimoy. Godamnit. RIP.

I've tried to ignore this for months but it just won't die will it? Destiny, a game as close to gender neutral as you can get (without removing human characters entirely), still fails the test because of a sitting animation. Christ. It seems like this won't go away until characters are all genderless blobs.

If you don't like the product the market is making then make a competing product. If the market wants it the market will move towards it. I can't think of nice things to say otherwise so I'll stop here.

“The FCC’s decision to grant the petitions of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Wilson, North Carolina is a troubling power grab,”

Was going to post the same response below but someone beat me to it:
"It's like watching a 6th grade bully telling a high school kid to go pick on someone his own size, when the high school kid interrupts the 6th grader from beating up a 3rd grader."

Bang on. Stop obstructing my ability to obstruct others!

No you're spot on. You just haven't been given a sack full of green incentives to think differently, or you don't blindly subscribe to the "regulation bad rabble rabble" crowd.
