That was my reference. In Denmark you get the base game free if you donate blood.

Had not seen that. Cool beans.

How much blood do you have to donate to get access to the patch?

All of it.

Now there's a DLC cross promotion I could get behind. Unlock a new character/skin/whatev by getting a code from donating blood at your local red cross.

I still don't see the ability to like... double-click on loot and have your PC move *to* it. You still have to run over it and do the truffle shuffle to get within the loot's hitbox and any of the other PC 3rd person "advancements" games have made in like... the last 20 years.

It is odd considering that both prior games had it and the AI move-to pathing function is already baked into the game since your auto-controlled party members use it for enemies. Came in handy here in the prior games when the cat decides my left arm is a sleeping spot and I only have the mouse to use.

I fully admit I have no clue of the amount of effort needed to fix such a thing in real development terms, but still. I do appreciate the fact they are still supporting the game.

Whatever terrible game your imagination is concocting from that image pales in comparison to how terrible it is in reality. It makes the Virtual Boy look good.

wow, thats pretty huge, have nintendo ever let their characters been used like this for another platform except their own?

Yes, and the games were so awful that they won't publicly acknowledge they existed. Google Nintendo CDi games.

I imagine the quality control will be higher these days though.

Well that's downright decent of them to go back and patch a game that old.

Good for them, great game at a more than reasonable price. There's a special sort of sad irony this came out so soon after the death of Maxis and turned out so well. The torch has been passed.

20 years, damn.

Love that game to bits. Fun plot, a goddamned amazing soundtrack, simple yet enjoyable gameplay. It's a damn shame the series has been stuck in limbo for so long, but then again they may no longer be able to put out something that great.

Does the winner get a hard drive big enough for the game?

Final install size doesn't bother me, gaming is headed that direction anyways. What is annoying are the massive patches that imo aren't worth it right now if you have bandwidth caps. I'm not bothering to log in until the art assets stop getting replaced and the Squadron 42 stuff starts being released in a year (or after the heat death of the universe).

That was me, but still making sure after today's patch that I was still not screwing something up on my end.

I really haven't gotten into ED as much as I thought I would, do we have a Blues News group in game or anything?

When my launcher starts there is a brief moment where it only shows the stars like you describe, but then the news fields and store buttons appear and everything looks correct. Maybe your launcher needs to be reinstalled?

We don't have DST here in SK, we just watch the rest of the world go out of sync with us once a year. Used to be a pain remembering when to watch a show pre-interwebs. But hey, we get our own custom time zone in windows. We're special!

Still using 2.2.1 here as well. There's a few private trackers I use that won't even allow recent versions. When this gets too old I'll switch to qbitorrent, or whatever the best alternative is at the time. utorrent seems to have abandoned it's original promise.

It'd take a special kind of dumb to try and bill PC gamers for half-baked Xbox Live features a second time around, so this isn't surprising. I know it's Microsoft and all but.....never mind they probably would try it again.
