Gonna be a great Fall for gaming, assuming all the awesome looking games coming out are indeed awesome. XX fingers.

Shadow of Mordor
FIFA 15
Borderlands Pre-Sequal
Civ: Beyond Earth
Assassins Creed: Unity (I suspect a Meh game)
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Far Cry 4
Sims 4 (My SO's most anticipated game of the year)

My answer: FIFA 15!! (Assuming we were playing the "what definitely doesn't belong in the list" quiz)

As for the rest of the list, I kinda agree. It looks very promising, this fall. These anticipations truly lift my mood when I think about them. True gamer at heart, I guess.

And then there's the Witcher 3 early next year. w00t!

Why the hell would Microsoft antagonize itself like this for such a temporary exclusivity deal. People now just think "Go fuck yourself" while waiting for the release on their platform. At least otherwise they would have though "Go fuck yourself" while getting themselves an Xbone. Maybe.

So dumb.

Do I still belie-- ...what? I'm not trying to be the game's advocate here. I haven't played it yet. What I wonder is where you got your information from, since the game is only out for a few hours yet except for a console version that had leaked a few days earlier. And trust me, I literally don't care AT ALL what that group has to say about a game like Risen. What I do know is that every Risen/Gothic game needs to build on the player a little, so people who've already spewed their bile after the few few hours they could've possibly played it... Well, I keep my reservations in benefit of the game, yeah.

What I can say is that I've watched about an hour of gameplay footage from Twitch and I really loved what I was seeing. They obviously put more time and development in combat and animations too, plus the factions are back and gear that represents your rank in the faction of your choosing which has influence on the NPCs that recognize it.

Again, these are the kinda games where you just can't trust the reviews. Too many 14 year olds out their who can't appreciate anything that's third person but doesn't play like Gears of War.

It's crazy that the devs are around my Dutch corner, yet I have to wait longer to play the game than the people who live an ocean apart.

Anyway, screw Metacritic regarding these kinda games. No flashy colours en other kinda pew-pew plus "rough around the edges" makes many (Americans?) cry "CRAP!" without giving it a proper chance.

For the people who loved the Gothic games (1 and 2 at least), I wouldn't write this game off so easily -- especially after watching the "back to the roots" trailer.

Definite buy for me.

Because your reason for deletion is the act of insulting another poster. It shouldn't really matter if you insult said poster once, twice or however many times, unless your rule says "after insulting a poster more than once in a single post, that does it".

Anyway, in the end it's all right. The guy pissed me off with his stupidity and it set off a wave of emotions in writing with me. I understand you removed it, but again.. Well.. read the above.

Blue, I gotta urge you to be less selective in removing comments. I know I'm not always being politically correct enough, but come on! Scroll down just a little and realize that if my comment is being removed, so much some others. Or, better yet, if some others aren't being removed, neither should mine.

I'll post what I've wrote earlier again, but I'll try not to convey how I'm actually feeling.

Really sad to hear about Robin Williams, it's being reported everywhere now it seems.

Yep. I'm depressed as hell now...

Yea, well, don't go killing yourself. Cowards way out and I am more pissed than sad.

Alright, here we go. xXBatmanXx, saying something as unsympathetic as that really makes you look like an angry 15 year old. You're pissed he committed suicide, and that pisses me off. I know gamers can have a reputation of being completely devoid of compassion, and although I'm always combatting that image, people like you make it damn hard to do so.

That people are driven to commit suicide is a very sorry thing. Saying that people who do so are cowards is insensitive and an insult to your own intelligence. Many would agree when I state that depression is one of the worst illnesses out there. Look it up.

If your incompassionate remark is born out of weird dogma of belief, then I can only say that I feel sorry for you. If it's not, and you're just being inhumane, then... *sigh*... what can I say?

Robin Williams was a great actor and he warmed my heart with every performance he did. I feel his loss profoundly. He must have had a troubled soul indeed. He'll be missed.

Aren't the real cool situations very few and far in between? I played the original DayZ and I never -- no literally: NEVER! -- have felt like wasting time playing a game as when playing DayZ. I've wasted half a day running around taking forever to do hardly anything at all, only to end up getting sniped out of the whoop-dee-fucking-doo-blue.

I still watch gameplay movies of this new DayZ every now and then to see what the fuss is all about, only to see another poor guy do the exact same boring shit I did last year.

Neh. DayZ, to me, feels like a game for highschool children who still have all the time in the world and don't mind wasting it.

What I'd like to see in this list is Risen 3. I think it'll be absolutely awesome in that buggy, weird sorta PB way.

Bought Metro 2033 on a Steam sale a few months ago... still haven't gotten around to playing it.

After watching the comparison video... not sure if I really give a shit about a minor graphics upgrade. Yeah, the redux version is nicer, especially the lighting... but I don't think the original version looks all that bad either.

/shrug

On the PC, I don't think you're going to see a huge difference. The difference on consoles (going from 512 total ram to 8 gig) is where it's noticeable.

It's the improved performance where you will notice the difference. On my relatively new rig, 2033 still runs rather crappy with everything on max, while Last Light runs perfectly. So 2033 will look only slightly better but with much better performance.

Oh how I loved seeing the Sierra logo whenever my cousin used to load up the classics back on DOS in the 90s. Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest, Police Quest, Gabriel Knight. Ahh good memories.

me too!! Sierra logo was a part of my childhood... *sniff*

Haha, a big part of my childhood too.

One of the first games I bought with my own money was a Quest for Glory game. I remember going to the gameshop with my parents to buy the game, afterward going for a bite at the McDonalds with them (which was special in and of itself). I couldn't stop holding the QfG box, staring at the screenshots as I took a bite from my hamburger or fries and rereading every text I could find over and over.
I think I just turned 20 back then.
Just kidding, I was around 9 years old.

*sigh* Good times.

This news is the most heartwarming news I've read in a long time.

That's fair, you're right he did a lot of fantastic things in his career and it shouldn't be defined by the one mistake he made. ME3 was a pretty good game anyway despite the ending.

True, but it was exactly the ending that destroyed all the beauty of the entire ME franchise like some monstrous solar flare. It was a ridiculous form of self-absorbed arrogance (that drooped from his very face to begin with -- I was wondering when it would bleed into a Bioware game to catastrophic results) that made it possible for almost that single man to piss off almost the entire fanbase.

I'm glad he's out. I know it's a lynch mob mentality but with such a dumb fuckup, all sympathy for the man died in a fire.

I'd argue that this game has the best atmosphere any game has ever achieved. It sounds crazy, but after I was done playing Sleeping Dogs, I felt like I had been to Hong Kong. Absolutely amazing achievement and I keep applauding them for it every time I'm reminded of it.

I had a great time playing this game. The plot keeps you interested to the very end -- although I did feel the end was rather sudden, but maybe that's because I couldn't get enough of it. Gameplay felt a bit clunky at first but grew on me rather quickly, also the vehicle handling.

I'm not sure for how much they're gonna sell it. I hope the people that own the original will get a big discount.

I bought the game for 25 euros on Steam. About a day later, it went don't to 10 euros if not less. The knifewound luckily healed quickly because I had such an amazing time with the game anyway.

Who else is looking forward to this remake?

I noticed it's already released for PS4. Somehow the PC release is scheduled at... TBA.

I watched some gameplay vids. Took me right back to a time when my world was smaller and simpler. Good times.

And this is why I torrent games first. I do not trust reviews* to be independent and honest, demos are like finding hen's teeth and word of mouth isn't trustworthy, either. My criteria is simple; if I play it more than two hours and get enjoyment out of those two hours, I feel that I am morally obligated to purchase the game. Otherwise, I'll never see a continuation of the types of games I like. It's in my best interest to support studios that put out those kinds of games.

*There are exceptions, such as Out of Eight and Space Sim Central

I'm with you on this a 100%. As a matter of fact, thanks to piracy I'm absolutely certain I've bought more games than I ever would without it!

The write up on Rock Paper Shotgun makes this sound pretty awful. Can't say I'm surprised, Deep Silver seems to be about the quick buck.

Hmm, Risen 3 seems absolutely great! Watch the "back to the roots" trailer and the latest full hour of ENGLISH gameplay on twitch.

Yesterday I quickly watched some gameplay footage of Sacred 3 on youtube. I thought it looked good. I didn't read up on the features of the game and thanks to you guys I now know the game has no loot system. What. The. Fuck?! A dungeon crawler without loot is... unfathomably stupid. I immediately understood the horrid reviews.

Always the same complaining about Origin/Steam/Uplay. Cry me a fucking river. All three DRMs can run in the background for all I care. My system doesn't slow down because of it. Does it slow yours? If so, maybe less porn. Those sites are shady. Run a virus scan.

Once Origin/Steam/Uplay is started up, which takes 5 seconds if not less (wait, not for you? Again, scan your system and start appreciating your wife more) it's happy gaming. You even get achievements, rewards (Uplay) and a nice sense of building a collection.

EA is giving away games for free. Shut up.
