While I have used similar ones in the past once or twice, just be aware of what you are getting into if you go that route. Some games have had CD keys revoked, or disabled if you weren't in the same region as the key (usually from russia/china kinda places) It was indeed an Asian key, which I wasn't aware of when I bought it. Hmmz.. |

As for the game, I love it but I hate the checkpoint system. Especially because of my NVIDIA driver crashes to desktop. What´s the use of buying an OCed GPU when you have to underclock it to fix the problem mentioned above? Certainly a lesson painfully learned. |

To illustrate, if you entered an area and a combat ensued, if you reloaded to the previous checkpoint (fuck checkpoints, btw,) would the battle start up again in the exact same fashion?
Creston You'll encounter the same amount of enemies but other than that it's just dynamic AI as you know it from most non-COD-kinda FPS games.
You played Bioshock 1 and 2? It's basically like that. |

Sad to see the Execution skill isn't removed. That fucker feels so much like cheating it's ridiculous. If this was an FPS, it'd be alright. But this is a stealth game, where the total amount of enemies per level can almost be counted on one hand (exaggeration, but still).
I won't be using the ability, but the fact that I can feels disgusting. |

Slick wrote on Mar 21, 2013, 17:40: the LA Noire facial animation was far superior to anything that crytek has put out, namely necause it's just capturing the performance of the actors, what you see is what you get. the problem was that it was only the head which was captured this way, and the body was still traditional mo-cap, this made it look a bit weird and disconnected, but this was a limitation of the processing power of last gen consoles. I never liked the technology used in LA Noir or what it looked like. I'm not sure if it was the Uncanny Valley thing or just weird. When I describe what the technology looks like to people who haven't played LA Noir I'd say this:
Pull a tight fabric over your head, like a white non-transparant pantyhose or whatever, and then use a beamer/projector to project a video of your close-up face talking into the camera onto the pantyhose. That's the impression I got from LA Noir's "revolutionary" technology.
I didn't like it. |

See this pic THIS is one of the core reasons I have great respect for the developers. They obviously didn't make this game for the losers that like to jerk off on Lara like they did 10 years ago. This game is not about a sexy heroin, but just a woman trying to survive. No unnecessary nudity or anime-kinda cleavage. I applaud them. |

This is a great game. I'm enjoying it allot! Great gameplay and atmosphere. The game manages to make you become Lara -- it's that immersing -- and believe it. She doesn't turn from fragile archaeologist into rambogirl in the blink of an eye -- if she ever will.. I'm only 5 or so hours into the game. The game takes its time.
A story that takes its time is usually a good story, in my experience, and the same goes for games. |

This topic is still active so.. sorry for going off-topic but here's a question, totally off-topic: Anyone know where I can get Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty cheap? Cheap as in less than 20 dollars, preferably 15 or so?
Thanks in advance and sorry for being off-topic but the other forum pages are inactive. |

"No Story. Just Gameplay." The USP of consoles. And then I really don't agree consoles can offer the latter. At all. But that's another point to make. |

That's because RS would even try to make Batman a fucking lowlife criminal asshole if they had the rights to make a Batman game.
They can't do nothing else. They tried so desperately to do so with Max Payne, so they made him an alcoholic, uninteresting piece of shit without a cause and a moral compass so over the place that it can be tossed away as awefully bad writing. |

The majority of the people thought this game to be nothing but a benchark. Some, in the end, disagreed. I do not. I have a new, december non-SLI rig with a GTX 680. With the money I put into it, I want to play the new games up to 2014 with a fluid 50-60 fps. Anything above that is either a garbage engine or a benchmark. Crysis 3 is clearly a benchmark.
I stopped 30 mins into the game. |

Dev wrote on Mar 7, 2013, 17:31: First time in a long time I remember nvidia having serious issues at a launch of a game. Most of the time its ATI, especially with their crossfire stuff (which can take weeks or months after release for them to get around releasing a driver to support). The only real issue I seem to have is with the ultra hair thing and ONLY on extreme close-up. Driver also stopped functioning once, which is a common issue with my new rig. I finally dived into my registry and changed it so that the TDR function won't execute after a 2 sec lock-up but a 7 sec lock-up. This seems to have fixed that issue forever.
For some reason, after about an hour of gaming, some heavy performance games cause my Lightning GTX680 to lock-up for no more than 2 secons.. and only once. Something tells me it has something to do with the memory, or maybe the voltage.. although I have a 720W PSU which should be enough since I don't have SLI. Anyway TDR manipulation fixed it. Still sucks that it happens though. |

QTE's have never been a big deal to me. All the games I remember had them right after a checkpoint, so if you failed you could instantly try it again. Same with TR. They're no big deal. In fact, I find them rather entertaining even. I've seen Lara being strangled to death, her neck being broken by a wolf, and some other sick shit that would make any ambitious feminine cult/group go crazy.
I'm still early in the game but my gripe so far is the gray-blue-and-orange palette that's becoming a dull taste. I hope I'll be introduced to some new environments and day-cycle soon. |
