Too late. The tech is out and you cannot control everything. There are 3D printers, which are just using sand, software and focused sun light to "sinter" objects. Cheap and easy to build, the controlling software is Open Source. Ideal for underdeveloped countries. Maybe 3D printers will be controllable in the western countries. But not for long, not for all eternity.

Heck, even the once mighty christian church couldnt prevent the crossbow from making powerful knights on horses an easy practise target. The church used to excommunicate everyone who used or built a crossbow. With little to no effect at all. Because the crossbow was way to useful. And the moment 3D printers become useful for the masses, for private households, for small companies ... no DRM, no regulation can stop that. History repeats itself, a new technology will change human society.

I dont know if this change will be good or bad from our current point of view. But it will happen!

Common people are not countries, and I've already seen multiple articles about restricting the tech. There are a lot of things that could happen but won't because big business and it's henchmen the Government stifle that shit in ways we won't ever know about. I know it's possible to build them, but most people can't even format a computer....

I blame 3D printers
3D printers are the new WMDs of the Digital Age. No, i mean it. Seriously. 3D printers WILL change our economical and sociological structure in ways we cant imagine.

Which is why 'they' are working very hard to cripple them before the masses even realize they are here along with their potential.

One way or another, they will be kept out of the hands of the common person(price), or if not they will be crippled so badly it won't matter(DRM'd).

Logitech G700

Best mouse I ever owned, and yes I have owned a few razors and didn't really like them. I'll avoid them in the future thanks to crap like this.

The G700 is a nice mouse indeed, lots of buttons and configuration options.. but for gaming I would recommend a G400. They have yet to integrate the sensor currently used in the G400 (Avago 3095) with their other models, but it is considered a "flawless" sensor, meaning 1:1 movement translation with no acceleration, prediction and all that other fun stuff.

Admittedly, if you aren't in to FPS games or similar twitch response action titles.. the sensor really doesn't matter as much.

Yeah the only problem with those for me is they are both right handed only. I've been looking at the G300, though tbh I've used Logitech mice before and there was a reason I stopped(shit quality). The only other mice that have caught my eye might be from Steelseries, but they are a newer brand and their button layout kind of sucks. Microsoft is no longer an option it seems, some of their mice look like applefied abortions.

Razor = the Monster Cable of the mouse and keyboard world.

I have owned 2 Razor mice and there will NOT be a third.(lachesis)
The 4000dpi one did last me quite awhile, which caused me to get another after it broke(it was a kinda love/hate thing, but it had lots of buttons...). The 5600dpi model....I can't even use the newest drivers without it going unresponsive every 30mins>1hr requiring me to replug it. So have to use older driver. It also refuses to save my sensitivity setting and so I have to set it every time I reboot or replug. Now one of the primary buttons is going flakey, so time to find a new (ambi) mouse.

I also know someone with a Razor keyboard and there are 2 very bad things with that. 1. keys are painted and that paint wears off amazingly fast. 2. it outputs weirdass characters from time to time requiring either a replug or reboot.

So yeah....this mandatory cloud shit now and Razor can definitely go fuck themselves. I will never buy their shit again and I will advise everyone I talk to otherwise as well.

Did anyone tried old mods with it like Desert Combat? Do they work?

Who knows. It's all pretty pointless if this version and the retail version must treat each other like lepers. The expacks would be a pretty critical thing too. But fuck all that, EA want's a feel good moment and can't be bothered by the little shit us peons concern ourselves with.

Here is the explanation for why the origin version doesn't work with the disc based version.

MordorHQ Post #81
On the one hand this means the noobs getting it for free won't be flooding the existing servers, but it also means the existing 1942 community won't be getting any fresh blood. I have to wonder at this point whether everyone wouldn't just be better off on Origin.

Guess who's not coming to dinner....
I never did care for Desert Combat. I like my BF1942 like I like my ice cream: vanilla.

Nothing wrong with that.

KAOS Studio, the game's developer that started off as the team behind the Desert Combat modification for Battlefield 1942.

I had no idea that was them, however didn't DICE buy most of that team? After which they then made BF2?
