In spite of their assurances, I'm not sure this is in fact what fans have been asking for.

From the disk space, I assume another idtech wonder. I'm really starting to hate that engine.

Great game. Best ever? Perhaps not. But very good, very fun, very flexible in how things play out, and it's hard to imagine someone not enjoying it if you liked WL1, Fallout1-2, or even Jagged Alliance1 (combat is very much like this title).

I am also pleased that something that squirted out of the kickstarter bubble actually shipped, and shipped precisely what they said they would.

Shocker that your data is not safe in the cloud. I'm sure the Fappening Part 3 is around the corner.

Your data is plenty safe as long as you're not a moron who chooses a shitty password and doesn't opt-in to any kind of two-factor auth.
I'm really surprised more celebs don't hire nerds like us to make sure stuff is setup securely. Hey, maybe there is a cottage industry I could get started here...

Pixel hunt? Hold down the Alt key...

There are a few puzzles you can't do that for and to be honest it gets tedious holding down alt everywhere.

While I enjoyed the game, I'm inclined to agree. There were too many "if you didn't spot this little thing, you'll go no further" incidents. I could have probably eventually found them, but such pointless time wastes annoy me.
I like it when a puzzle or tricky challenge stumps me. I dislike it when myopia stumps me.

That sounded like a different voice for Jack... Which... Really turns me off. It doesn't seem to have that whiny, cocky, attitudinal voice I was expecting...

And Prez, my stats for BL 1 are about what you mentioned, including ratio of SP to MP.

Edit: Just checked.. Same actor... Not sure if it's my memory, or he really just sounds different.
I had the same reaction. Didn't have the sneering contempt. Maybe he develops that during the course of the game.

I'll be waiting for a big sale on this. It just looks like Borderlands 1.3, and man, I can't help but think I've played this exact game twice already. I'd love to be wrong, but will certainly wait and see.

News Comments > EA Taps Starbucks Vet as CMO

You guys are way too cynical. This will return EA to the glory days of Archon, Pinball construction set, Racing destruction set, MULE, Sevel Cities of Gold, etc.

Wait, no, that's right. When EA was not a steaming pile of racoon feces they trumpeted the development teams: FreeFall Associates, Dan(ielle) Bunten, Bill Budge, etc. That was before the yearly release of the same exact games with new textures, and 20% of the content split out into preorder incentives and day one DLC.

EA used to be amazing. Sorrow. Sadness.

Retired, my ass. Tulsa still happily uses them, as did Minneapolis and Atlanta, as of this past July.

I wonder if they will continue seeing as the article specifically mentioned how to get a .380 past them, or plastic explosives and a detonator.

Yes, because they're looking for boobies, not bombs silly.

It is a stunning revelation that for a games company to be a success it has to focus on high quality games.

It's kind of weird that everyone is focusing on the Gold Box games. I feel like the first game, Pool of Radiance, was in many ways the high point of that series, especially in terms of scope and doing different things. After they became the Gold Box company the games just more and more samey. SSI was more interesting to me when they had a dozen wildly different RPG engines going on.

Wizard's Crown was definitely one of those. It had an amazingly complex combat system.

Yes, all very good games for the time. I loved the tactical combat games they put out, and Wizard's Crown was special for me. It took me a long time to save up enough money from washing cars and mowing lawns to finally get it, but when I did I played the absolute hell out of it.
I tried to replay it again recently via emulation and the UI drove me positively batty. I've become spoiled I suppose.

Yes, it's actually a lot easier to switch on and off than it is to modulate what "on" means.
It's also a question of noise immunity. Two states are quite easy to distinguish even with significant degradation of the signal, while more add less and less margin.

We'd do more tricks if we had to, but with fiber the raw bandwidth is huge so fewer tricks are going to be done versus the horribly limited spectrum in other areas (consumer WiFi, cellccomms, etc).
