I enjoyed D&D dungeon crawlers (EOB, Wizardry) but none of the isometrics (Torment, Baldur, Icewind, Neverwinter, etc). I dunno why.
(I guess people will have some not very pleasant answers as to why :))

Interesting point below that the machine might run some Linux.
We might have heard something from Microsoft if this "console" would use some Windows to directly compete with the Xbox right?...

It's a Piranha Bytes game. If there's one thing these German developers are known for (aside from Crytek), it's for delivering rough, buggy games. The first Risen was the same way, the Gothic series, Sacred... QA is just not a priority. I was looking forward to the way Risen 2 looked, but seeing that and the fact that it proudly had Day 1 DLC that wasn't even available to pre-orders (and was reportedly mediocre on top)... meh. I was thinking that if there's ONLY ONE thing Piranha Bytes could be known for that would be that they make extremely fun, funny and entertaining games with a great emphasis on discovery and a recognisable and inspired art style (did I mention the memorable soundtracks in every one of their games?).
Being a little buggy/glitchy occasionaly would be at worst only the SECOND THING thing about them.
I'm not defending DLC-on-disc as I think it sucks as an industry-wide practice, but being the PB fanboy that I am I just cannot let your unjust hatey remarks go unchecked

I finally ended it with Creative cards.
I brought an M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496. It's an entry level pro audio card.
And while it's only a stereo output card (no fancy home cinema for you), the sound quality you'll be getting it's amazing.
Especially the low end. My theory is that noise levels in consumer cards (read Creative and co.) is so high that they erase some low end harmonics which you will hear with this sort of card. Even with a bunch of shitty speakers like my Cambridge 2.1. I mean I listen to a Cypress Hill record after 10 years and I'm hearing samples that I never heard before
I'm really not trying to go the "audiophile meme" bullshit route (even tho' the card is called Audiophile but the tone difference between htis and even the Fatal1ty card is so noticeable that I'm never going back to consumer Hi-Fi Home Theater bullshit ever.
Oh, and not to mention that the ability to rip "what you hear" at pro recording standards :))
