this looks like garbage console crap... as always they put money that should go into development instead more into marketing.

I wouldn't pay more than $5-$10 for Ghosts.

Well the buyer has to have a brain and decide if they want one. Them making one doesn't force anyone to buy them.

I can see an extra-wide curved desktop monitor. To me that has some sense to it since you are so close, it would enhance FOV. Since in the Living Room, I'm far back that the curve wouldn't help FOV, I'd just have a curve for no good reason I can think of.

Its a ploy to get people to sit closer to the TV so the mind control rays from the commercials are more effective. Crazy

well they still have money coming in according to wikipedia.

"In July 2011, Silicon Knights was awarded $2.5 million to be distributed over five years in provincial funding to improve its technology, create new products and become a self-publishing company."

it's not much, but it's money until 2016. may as well make a mobile app or something with that dough.

I'm thinking Windows 9 might be the end of every other Windows release being ok. Prediction: They'll stick with Metro/Big Icons/Walled Garden
Apparently next release of Win8 restores the start menu fully, though that's rumor mill. Though the rumor mill was right about 8.1 bringing back the start button.

Fuck M$, http://www.classicshell.net/ works perfectly (I use it on Server 2012 boxes because remoting 4 sessions trying to deal with Metro = /wrists...).

But 9 will be the next Win 7 following MS's run of even OS = bad, odd OS = good...

8 bad, 7 good, vista bad, xp good, ME bad, 98 good (well, better than ME).

Works well for me because I only upgrade OS every other generation (although cost isn't really an issue because we have a 5k seat MAK key issued for our 1.2k seat organisation *grin*).

after the words "Fuck M$" I thought you were going to say "I use a Mac instead"

None of the Mac or Linux ports of any of their games ever made it to Steam even before Bethesda bought them so I'd say it was unofficial policy to drop Linux and Mac by the wayside even back then.

The promotional trailer looked AMAZING...

I wonder if the actual game will resemble it at all upon release?

I can tell you one damn thing, if I buy it and you can actually install, play and finish the game without it sucking ass harder than a confused face-hugger; THAT'S when i'm going to need diapers

apparently the guys who previewed the actual game prototype says it currently looks like the scenes in the trailer right now. they wanted it to be semi-playable so press don't think it's another Colonial Marines crap. definitely looking forward to playing it.

No. No. NO. NonononononononononononononNONONONONONONONONO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Just stop, people. What was the last good Alien/Aliens game you played? I mean, it was over a decade ago, right? The trailers ALWAYS look good, and the game is always shit. Don't fall for it again!

The sound was freaky enough:

I do not for one second believe Alien: Isolation will be unscripted. Nobody can be that naive.

The only survival horror game in the works that appears to be designed around non-linearity and a lack of scripting is Routine. Plus it looks scary with an original setting and creatures we haven't seen a million times already. Occulus Rift support confirmed.

oh wow, that Routine game looks good...

Seems like a fail right out of the gate. I just can't see people lining up to buy an FPS alien game with no combat. Sure it worked great as a movie but as an interactive video game?

well you'll bet that we'll have the horror community with the likes of Youtuber PewDiePie sensationalize it and make a big thing out of it. people like to be scared and scared slow and painfully.

Trespasser in space

Hopefully extremely light on the quick-time-events.

i like QTEs when they're done properly. best if they have minimal HUD though, with as few prompts as possible. perhaps just a tiny symbol and earlier show a legend of what corresponding keys to press will suffice.

also consider me in the minority but i liked Trespasser...
