in my area they started putting undercover police posing as homeless around traffic stops to see if anyone is driving while using a cell phone, and fine them $280 if they do.

No mention of the biggest gripe of D3. Account bound items. As Im playing Reaper of Souls (which has been surprisingly enjoyable otherwise), its the biggest source of frustration for myself and my friends.

Hopefully they remove this arbitrary restriction.

account bound items is probably their way of combating gold and item farming sites now with the removal of the auction house.

Yeah the Attila the Hun thing is a fake story. Other stories on their site are showing "photos" of legendary creatures, including "the remains of a pixie found in Ireland", completely with tiny little skeleton with tiny little wings.

damn... are u sure? i did a google search and found it posted all over the place so thought it was real. :/

well, that's up for debate... it's still just his opinion. some alt-medicine might actually be beneficial if proven.

And if it's proven, it ceases to be called alternative medicine. Alternative medicine is, by definition, the shit that didn't pass the sniff test. It's like that quote that people pass around a lot attributed to various people:

We have a word for alternative medicine that works, it's "medicine."

Most alternative medicine is stuff that has already been proven to not work. The stuff that works doesn't stay in the realm of alternative medicine for long. Big pharma has more money and more resources to find, manufacture, and market new medicine, so they almost always beat the alternative-medicine whackos to the punch on finding EFFECTIVE new treatments. If it's in the alternative medicine community, it's probably already been evaluated and deemed ineffective by actual science.

Alt-medicine people are science deniers no better than young earth creationists and global warming deniers. They want to believe it works, and anyone telling them otherwise has a nefarious agenda. Full on tinfoil hat territory there.

Most of that stuff can be dismissed by any first year pre-med student based on what they learn in their first biochem class. Ingredients that the body does not interact with in a meaningful way, for example. Or ingredients with low bio-availability combined with being diluted down to nothing.

i am a pro-science believer now... thank you!

does anyone remember a story or rumor posted a while ago that Facebook was planning on doing their own game console? I seem to remember reading something about this earlier but can't find the link.

All these super collector editions with toys. Are they marketing these games for kids?

more like marketing it for other game company employees that like to have more "cube toys" shwag on their cubical desks in the office. it's fun to have at home too.

Without commenting on the value or lack thereof in the CE package here, it's always made more sense to me to have Collector's Edition be an "addon" so that you can snag the CE stuff separately without buying a redundant copy of the game.

For example if you wanted to buy a game on Steam but wanted physical CE goodies.

This.

so now if you changed your mind on the platform you can go with the PS4 version, or PC, or even a used copy for Xbox One... etc. $100 is way too much though. I'd pay up to $50-$60 tops, or less if the game will be crappy.

The only thing they need to make sure is that it is an emulator. So we can just stick our old disks into the PS4 OR buy it off PSN. There's a LOT of games(see rpgs) that have not shown up on PSN yet.

one thing the PS2 era really had over the PS3 era are JRPG games. the RPGs imo were much better on PS2 (even PS1) compared with last generations crappy offerings.

good thing we got an alternative now with Sony's VR headset that they revealed at GDC.

Bundy wrote on Mar 26, 2014, 00:09:
Do we know if Sony is planning on Windows support? There is an opportunity here for them to jump in and "save us" from evil Facebook. Like they did to MS last year after the first XB1 announcement.

I'm hoping Valve makes a move.

As for MS, they'll probably just build their own headset. After the market is saturated with them, and then wonder why they can't get a foothold. Apple will also be late to the game, but somehow they'll have filed every single conceivable patent around VR back in 2007 and start suing everyone else for stealing their invention.

it better work for PC...
