He had good points UNTIL he started to say anyone that likes a widely panned game must be a crazy fan boy. Had an arugment with TB about that before. He's wrong about that point. Just because 90% of people don't like something doesn't mean the 10% that do are suffering a kind of stockholm syndrome. TB is still a total and complete dbag.

But don't preorder games you munchkins!

The conceit of many video games these days is that you can get away with bad writing and preposterous narrative choices simply because it’s a game.
As opposed to what? the old days? Yeah, Pong had such a twist at the end, didn't see it coming.

Games are meant to be fun, first and foremost. Part of this includes having a ridiculous storyline that is over the top and enjoyable through humour.

Want deep?, go watch an Opera. Otherwise, SUCK IT DOWN!

If you haven't bought Trine 2 by now, you should pick it up. Utterly gorgeous game, visually and aurally. The gameplay is actually pretty good too.

Indeed!

Yet it is not at all clear whether, over longer periods, such a habit increases the likelihood that a person will commit a violent crime, like murder, rape, or assault, much less a Newtown-like massacre. (Such calculated rampages are too rare to study in any rigorous way, researchers agree.)

Yes, it is clear! Because it's always been a violent world and always will be. Take away guns and games and you know what'll change? Not a single damn thing.
I thought canucks were friendly ey?

In one recent study, Christopher Barlett, a psychologist at Iowa State University, led a research team that had 47 undergraduates play “Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance” for 15 minutes. Afterward, the team took various measures of arousal, both physical and psychological. It also tested whether the students would behave more aggressively, by having them dole out hot sauce to a fellow student who, they were told, did not like spicy food but had to swallow the sauce.

Sure enough, compared with a group who had played a nonviolent video game, those who had been engaged in “Mortal Kombat” were more aggressive across the board. They gave their fellow students significantly bigger portions of the hot sauce.
I know right, I became aroused after playing Devil May Cry and sprayed hot sauce all over...

... lol, deary me. America!

Seriously, what kind of person assumes that two companies worked on it, canceled it, later had the license lapse, another two companies picked up the license, started it, and used any of the prior assets or code despite using a new engine?
Matt Damon?

It was supposed to be a PS2 game, and that game was canceled with all work destroyed half a decade before Sega or Gearbox got involved.

This is why some think you troll - you seem to try to get every fact wrong.

PS1 PS2 same fucking thing, were you there when they destroyed the work? Do you work for Sega? Why are you so defensive anytime someone even says the slightest even remotely negative thing about a publisher or developer? FFS Beamer you're like a walking shill for every publisher in the industry.

I've actually seen PS2 titles that look better than any trailer of this game now that I think of it.
PS1 and PS2 are very different. No PS2 game looks better than any of the trailers. If you really think so, back it up with proof. Not defending the game, just tired of people like you spreading lies.

Not much different from when Duke Nukem was coming out. I used to respect him but he became just another PR person these days. Don't believe a word he says.
Duke Nukem Forever was awesome though

The animations in Aliens do look really horrible though. I can handle bad or low res textures but animations must be fluid!

I'd love to play another Keen game but...

this looks...

$15 to back a 2d side scroller?

Games on Kickstarter are too damn expensive. The game isn't made and there is no guarantee. $5? maybe.

Eh I don't know why some of you take so much pleasure in this, people could lose their jobs and no one likes a crappy game. I'd much rather be proven wrong and have a cool Aliens game to play

Are you supposed to like people that rip other people off? How odd. That's not how it works for most people. Make a shitty product you deserve to be out of a job. No one - except you and netnerd it seems - is going to shed a single tear if that happens.

Ripped off? That would imply they didn't get what they paid for but they did. There were countless previews and features. They got exactly what was advertised. Lots of people didn't seem to like it then so they didn't buy it. Anyone that buys it get's what they bought, there is no "rip off". It's like saying you got ripped off going to the movies, you saw the trailer, you paid to see the full thing, just because it sucks doesn't mean anything. Don't go and see the next film, easy.

As for shedding tears. No. Have no plans on buying it.

Did you buy it Cutter?

Agreed, It's pathetic and childish. I'm sure most of these people don't give two shits what the game review media say most of the time.

For those saying "see its crap", have you played it yourself?

Never heard of Alpha Prime, but the preview video on Steam is hilarious in how the bad guys just stand there looking straight ahead when you run up to them and shoot them in the side of the head.
I bought a copy of it from ebay a few years ago for $5 or something. The story is confusing but the combat and graphics were good at the time. The voice acting is bad

For $1.25, eh? how bored are you

This makes no sense. You were going to cancel it, then let the people talk you into not cancelling it, then you cancel it BEFORE you get to the magical final 72 hours??

This has to be just about the worst-run Kickstarter campaign ever.

Bit of a slap in the face to the backers. Maybe there is a personal issue with him seeing a "failed to fund" notice.
