This was clearly developed for the consoles first and foremost. No need for server browser there.

Wait, what? I play BF4 on PS4 with a bunch of friends and without a browser, we would have a rough time finding servers that we all want to play on.

I wonder if there are any performance differences with this newer model. I guess it could go either way or stay the same. I wish someone could/would benchmark them.

I would imagine there's little difference; people who already own one would be upset if a better (more fps) console were released. I do wonder when/if they'll release a SSD version. If they're looking to make a quieter and less power hungry hungry console that's one way to do it, plus better load times.

I'm with you on that. Only trouble is that the controller on the PS4 is SATA2 and not SATA3, making an SSD closer in speed to a HDD. :\ If they change the controller, it would be worth it. SSD is quieter and cooler though so that might be better for some.

I've heard talk that the controller is somehow using the USB bus and not a true SATA bus but I haven't spent much energy trying to learn more about it.

Stories like this just make me so tired. I realize people have been saying the end of the world is coming for hundreds if not thousands of years -- but reading stories make me wonder if we can survive the next few decades. Assuming we survive until then, I'd love to take a history class on the first half of this century a couple of hundred years from now.

If you want to learn about history, don't bother taking a class, unless you like biased, propaganda ridden trash.

So we finally find out its already in Windows and no one cared before, much ado about nothing I guess. At least we can finally put the "durr Windows 10 microsux" stuff to bed. The tweaker mentioned in this article is just a collection of switches already inside of Windows in the Privacy panel and through GPO. I guess it might help some people to have everything in one simple interface though. I have no outbound telemetry traffic to Microsoft after disabling everything, they issued a series of updates the past few days which probably took care of a few leftover functions that were leaking data from the old Insider builds.

Im sure none of that shit you turned off will turn itself on again..:

I'm surprised the contradiction here is lost on you. If you don't trust Microsoft to turn things on by themselves in Windows 10, why would you trust them not to do so in any version of Windows? They could easily just label a Windows Update as something different and bam keylogger. Are you personally auditing each update, its file and network access? Come now, it's time for this silliness to end. Microsoft is selling Windows 10 to everyone from enterprise users to mom and pop, no one is going to tolerate them magically turning on things and keylogging you. The lawsuits alone would give Microsoft pause, forgetting any potential for upsetting their golden goose in the enterprise world.

It hasn't been in 7/8 that long. Was pushed through auto-updates this month. There's a script to remove it here and one can also disable them through services.msc.

Here's the script--

There is plenty of clickbait looking for hits from low hanging fruit like the people in here, yes. You should really trust a few forum babies that think Windows 10 is keylogging their porn activity instead of your own hands on experience or the many tech sites that have reviewed Windows 10.

Bro, you are so clueless. I feel bad for you, stomping around, pretending that your "hands on experience" is actually worth anything to real professionals. You obviously don't go to the same forums that I do, because if you did, you wouldn't be spewing such nonsense. Keep repeating what your masters tell you to. Run along now.

Krowen wrote on Aug 27, 2015, 20:38:

Or just try it out like I did, not that hard. Why take someone elses word for it? You shouldn't be listening to these idiots or even to me, make up your own mind after trying it. I disabled everything I didn't like in less than a minute, just like Windows 8 and Windows 7. Boo hoo what an inconvenience. If I listened to the peanut gallery here I would be running Windows XP, not connected to the internet and wrapping my head in tinfoil.

The many improvements are worth clicking off a few things, just like Windows 8 was fine after you disabled their stupid start menu.

Here, you demonstrate your complete lack of understanding that MS still tracks the things that you think you turned off. I'm sure that by "tying it out", you actually tried to reverse engineer what's going on in the background. You probably assume that since you can't see it on your screen, it's not happening.

Krowen wrote on Aug 27, 2015, 22:39:
Hahaha they've been running them the whole time, that's priceless! Windows 7 for life LOL!

You claim to be knowledgeable, yet this information about 7 & 8 tracking is news to you. We've known about this and have been blocking it (several ways to block it), but apparently it's news to you.

This is the problem with the world today. Millions of blind tards running around acting like you know WTF you're talking about when in reality, you are just as clueless as the next sheep.

I guess you don't know how to use google in order to see that your statement is absolutely false and it shows me and pretty much everyone else here that you have absolutely no F%^&ing clue what you're talking about. Because saying no to Win10 means all those "features" are turned off. Keep believing that BS.

So I wake up this morning and click on my news based homepage and see a headline indicating that a reporter and cameraman were shot and killed on live TV, in Virginia I believe, while doing an interview.

While I am reading the text I start to hear a woman talking. "Oh, there is an ad or something on the page.." I think to myself and scroll around to find it and add it to my blocker. Takes me less than a second to find the video and than I realize too slowly what it really is. Before my non-caffeinated brain can tell my mouse hand to close the window gunshots are going off, the cameraman hits the floor and the women are screaming. Due to my lack of caffeine and the poorly placed video I just woke up to two people getting killed right in front of me. Holy hell..those poor people and their families.

Fuck you Internet. Going to be a great day, I am sure.

That sucks! It's never fun to witness such horrible things. Sorry, bro.

Unfortunately, about a 1/3 of the way through the moral part I lost interest in what the person was saying and never reached the end. Live and learn.

With some work, it might have even been funny but it seemed to be poorly executed. The Onion usually makes some very funny satire but apparently the Register isn't anywhere near as clever as the crew at the Onion.

Article was moderately amusing and I had no problems parsing it, there's no accounting for taste.

You know me, I'm jaded.

I don't think this is the same bridge but still kind of funny. Seems like actual injury is rare despite the mess some of the crashes make.

Thanks! There's a video out there that I saw years ago and it shows the same bridge being hit over and over again.

I heard a story once about a guy who got his tractor-trailer stuck under a bridge and a bystander asked if it was an accident (or something similar). The trucker's response was absolutely epic! He said, "No I'm delivering a F$%^ing bridge! What does it look like?"

I about died laughing.

1. Why Nobody Should Ever Search The Ashley Madison Data. Aug 26, 2015, 09:12 Frags4Fun

As a professional journalist seeking to inform all of my many readers I have now researched this matter thoroughly, and I have compiled some authoritative and technically solid advice for anyone who might be thinking of looking at the data leaked from the site.

Says, "authoritative and technically solid advice" and then goes on to show us how little he/she actually knows about technology.

What a giant pile of steaming bullshit that article was. Do people seriously believe this shit?

UPDATE:

The part about it being morally wrong is complete horse-shit! They try to make the claim that the majority of people on the site were denied sex because either their partner was incapable or they refused to have sex with them. Their entire claim is based on the fact that the "majority" of the stories that have come out are from similar cases. The problem with that logic is that that "majority" does not represent all 36 million users. It only represents those people who have spoken out, which is a very small sample size. The plain old cheaters are obviously staying silent or are making up some bullshit story to save face.

Edit:

Is his a satire article? Am I that old that I completely missed it? In my defense, if it is a joke, it's a very poorly written one and the author should probably find another career.
