News Comments > Ships Ahoy - Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road
5. Re: Ships Ahoy - Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road Sep 21, 2011, 05:21 ZeroCougar

Ok so I got this, bought it instantly. It seems ok it has great visual's, the place is an absolute wreck of a pre-war city.

Introduces a new monster, sorta mole-man meets lizard people kinda of a cross over. Some new stimpack types, there called auto stims and there craftable, get to 50% health it auto heals you.

My main complaint so far is forced close combat fighting with deathclaws. Like 500+HP ones. Very brutal even with my high end gear. I know DC's are tough thats fine, thats the rule. But get them in a closed environment 2 hits and I'm gone.

Another more of a personal taste complaint is the other courier you follow here, won't shut-up. He rants and rants, when I reach the end of this dlc I'm just going to shoot him outright.

There's also a bug towards the end of the divide, where you get locked in place waiting for a cut scene that sometimes happens or not at all, and your frozen in place. I'm trying to reload saves to trick it into working.

I can't really disagree what Creston said about Old World Blues. I got so tired of the over-HP'd Robo-scorpions that I stomped through the main quest there just to make them stop showing up and so I could save ammo.

Yeah other games have fallen into the pit of just giving more HP for players to chomp through, and call it new content.

But I will still be buying this out-right day one. I can't help it, I love the game.

Man they were not kidding when they said the Divide was a total mess, in the lore. Thankfully these guys bring it to life in the engine.

CAN NOT WAIT, N.V.+DLC was one of the best time sink games I've ever purchased.

Aww and they did so well on Win7 too. But I know they need to change the formula up a bit, I can understand that from a $$$ stand point.

I'm sure it will be out of the way of normal OS functions, if not somebody will find a way to make it go away, and tell others how.

News Comments > Syndicate FPS Confirmed for Next year
37. Re: Syndicate FPS Confirmed for Next year Sep 12, 2011, 13:10 ZeroCougar

DX:HR was a good example of how to virtually remake a classic, bringing it into the modern era. Fallout 3 was also a good step in the right direction, it took New Vegas to exploit it more though I think.

Dev's should really stick to a few simple premises to updating classics like this. Update the hell out of the graphics and engine obviously. Streamline what really doesn't work anymore into a playable fun state. There called beloved classics for a reason! just keep what worked and made the game a classic to begin with.

News Comments > Rumored Syndicate Details Promise a "Visceral FPS Experience"
52. Re: Rumored Syndicate Details Promise a Sep 12, 2011, 07:01 ZeroCougar

I'm so torn now.

On one hand it could work. I liked/love Fallout: New Vegas, but I thought they throughly botched Fallout 3. So I think that redoing Isometric into an FPS if done right, could work. Note the word IF.

On the other hand they can bork it right out of the gate. Like when they redid Shadowrun into that cluster-F' of an FPS with powers game, WTF thought that idea was a brillant stroke of ingenuity... God help him, he needs it.

So I hope it works, I really do. I hate how they wreck our timeless classics, but there's an off chance it will work and be decent. Based on personal tastes of course.

Well probably any multi-platform releasing dev/pub. It just endlessly seems like they promise the moon to PC people and end up only giving lip service. Like I said I just get mad at being promised things and end up getting a cross between half-assed and nothing at all.

You'll know they never actually do any of this. They will never put in major work to make the PC version stand out. Its all talk, its always talk. We end up with the same crippled games we always get. And these guys get to thank what little "props" they give us, like this, for boosting there PC sales demographic on a pie chart in there board room.

Wow I must be really mad today. Ohh well I mean what I say here.

Wow 27GB. And that's just a beta sized number. Maybe it could be smaller or bigger for the final. Aren't these guys the ones that said there doing a limited release? Or something along the lines of limited amount of copies on launch?

Maybe its due to the sheer size of the game client, incase they end up having to do a massive day one patch? (combined with pre-release hype, I know...)

I'm having a great time with F:NV. and some of its DLC. 125 hours total playtime on my copy.

Honest hearts I.. just I dunno what the real point of it was. I played through it. I can say that much. I think they were trying to give a sort of Tribal vs Imperialism feel, I guess.

The Sierra Madre DLC I owned but have avoided so far because of that goofy exploding collar deal. I'll play it eventually.

But Old World Blues I enjoyed alot. The voice acting carries alot of its weight. But if you hate fetch quests you will almost instantly hate Old World Blues. The guy who does Doc Venture's voice from Venture Bros. is in it... its got that going for it.

Are all your dogs having stomach problems or just the one still? If he/she is still bad you might have to consider a vet if its been quite a while since you started a bland rice diet.

Anybody else find it odd he called them patches by default? or was it a Freudian slip? Programming wise they are patches, but there pay to play patches. Its early maybe and I'm just too tired; but I found calling paid for DLC, patches, odd.

I'll never understand Kotaku, they sometimes come across as PC is cool, but they always push higher end stuff like its a standard. Maybe that's fine to feed to unknowing masses, but it just makes me upset. You can get by so easily with stuff that costs half as much as long as you know what parts you need to accomplish the job. Frustrating.

When our dogs, have/had the runs like you mention is usually passes after a while. Just keep the diet like normal, and no sweet human food they love. If you do that sort of thing like we do. See if it passes and the dog goes back to normal.

One home remedy too, if the runs last for a long time, is to use boiled rice and cooked hamburger as there only food. The rice helps make the dogs stool more solid and normal, the hamburger is there just to get the dog to eat it.

It worked with our Yorkie when he had the runs for a week. A vet will offer pretty much the same solution, or use medication. I'd try the home remedy first if I were you.

I agree with one time re-specs. I think a game during the "training" area should give you a sense of what skills generally matter more then others. And if you botch your build early on you can change it before moving onto the rest of the game. Without redoing a whole area/quest-line, just to say move five points from one skill to another, or something like that.

At least that much. Later on in the game, I go with the your stuck with what you chosen, idea.

Anything new for ME gets me excited, even if I see flaws in it, not to mention the whole Origin thing attached to this game now.

But I can't wait to play it. I need closure for the series's story plot, my 6 individual character play-through's demand it.

I too enjoyed the free weekend of Brink. It got me into the whole team based shooter vibe again. But it wasn't $20-$25 worth of entertainment. Inspired by that I went to play Team Fortress 2 instead, which I haven't played in years. Instant-love all over again!

I've written off DA2 as a loss. I enjoyed Origins, and the exp pack there-of, however. I too worry about ME3. Just don't murder it so badly BioWare, please for the love of gaming don't ruin the climatic sequel I need to finish off the series.

"New manufacturers will bring their own visual twists to each weapon, and players will now be able to add custom decals and enhancements to their favourite pieces."

So like Brink's character armory setup then? I agree that the whole point of the original was for the crazy combo weapons. That was the only exciting thing about reaching and opening a chest in the first place.

81. Re: WoW Drops More Subs Aug 5, 2011, 06:42 ZeroCougar

In my case WotLK was the best. I was having a blast Priest-healing PuG's for instances. I never went to even a single raid though.

But as said the game itself became a job. What do you end up doing with your flagship character? you log in, chat a bit, see whats up. Dailies, maybe PuG an instance. Then that was it for me, without ever raiding I just couldn't care after I finished my daily routine.

Ahh well, glad I'm done with WoW. 5-years down the drain.
