| If GTA4 is to GTA3 and GTA5 is to GTA:SA...we are in for something special. With R* already having GTA4 as a base, they can put time into content in GTA5. |

When does the review embargo lift?
I am still skeptical because its published by Bethesda. It comes down to when they lift the review embargo. If its on the day of release, game is a crap. If its a week before of release, game is great.
Bethesda published 4 games last year, of which Brink, Hunted: The Demon Forge, and Rage had on release day embargos. Only Skyrim had its embargo lifted a week earlier. Bethesda knows to hype the shit out of their games.
Sure not all games with release day embargoes are terrible, but Bethesda had a bad track record last year and I am judging them on this. |

What a misleading kickstarter. The project is for DG2, though their set goal of $250K does not get you DG2. Why not set the goal to $1mil?
Anyways, $55 from me (for 3 copies). |

| R* is notoriously known to release bullshots. I am surprised that them didn't clean this images up. Props to them. Pretty sure the game will still look great in motion. |

| Multiplayer, of which TB didn't check out, is a lot of fun and where the action is at. Plus, he doesn't buy any of these games he reviews, which means he has no personal incentive to peruse it further than the ~25mins he needed for this video. |

Aero wrote on May 25, 2012, 23:48: I believe both consoles have 256 megs of video memory. So 4x larger would be pretty typical for a PC. 360 has 512, PS3 has 256. Either way that's not alot of ram. Still on the fence on this one. I liked the first two but this is obviously no longer a Remedy made game. 360 has 512MB shared between CPU and GPU, where as PS3 has 256MB dedicated for CPU, and another 256MB dedicated for GPU. In short, they have the same amount of memory, though developers has a bit more flexibility with the 360 because they can allocated more of one over the other. |

Jerykk wrote on May 26, 2012, 00:17: You're mistaking render resolution with texture resolution. They are two separate things. Why I said "Console's texture size is 1280x720 (720P)" is knowing that texture size is going to scale proportionally to rendering resolution, which is 720P, or else the game will look like crap (which it doesn't). Also due to limited console memory, streaming textures method is used so you will only see ~720P worth of textures at a time. |

According to R*, PC version's textures are 4x larger than consoles. So, 4096x4096? I assume the console textures are 1024x1024. If this is indeed the case, that's pretty interesting. I don't think any developer has released a game with primarily 4096x4096 textures. However, I doubt that's the case. 4096 textures need a lot of memory, more than the recommended specs. This is incorrect.
1024x1024 = 1048576 pixels 4096x4096 = 16777216 pixels
16777216/1048576 = 16 times larger.
Console's texture size is 1280x720 (720P) = 921600 pixels Typical 27" high resolution LCD monitor is 2560x1440 = 3686400
3686400/921600 = 4 times larger.
Therefore, R* is well within recommended specs. |

That was great fun in OSt, totally passed this one over when I found out tanks took a back seat. Gumrak is the Tank v. Tank map and has been there since day 1. |
