| Plus Dust 514 looks pretty darn tempting compared to Planetside, installed yesterday and looking forward to try it. Although it seems like one could easily pay a lot more than the old premium of $60 for a single game if starting to shop for stuff |

Yeah.. Steam is starting to loose its root in my opinion.. I will keep playing games on Steam I have, but I think it is time to shop around more instead of just that very convenient "Purchase" button.
At the same I just had my first encounter with their support after many many years of use and no problems, and so far I am not impressed... I get more qualified service from Comcast and AT&T, that is just sad. |

Can only say you missed out on some great games, especially Morrowinds humour was great. "Boots of blinding speed", I wondered what they would do until I raced over the cliff at full speed completely blind.... great moment in gaming history for me  |

That graphics in the trailer made me think of Natural Selection 2, I was expecting to see the shadow of an Onos...
The problem with Aliens for me, is that the world of it is so narrow, the surprise of discovering a person in a cocoon or seeing a chest burst only works the first time and each game seem to use that as their main set piece.
But I have enjoyed a number of books set in the Aliens universe, so I hope they can make a fantastic story happen, instead of just trying to surprise us the same way as the movies did. |

Getting tired of these sales too, I love a good offer, and I don't mind paying a premium to get the game when it comes out or pre-release. But these sales now seem to come within less than a month of the original release and then they just keep repeating.
Maybe just a lesson learned for me... wait to buy until 1 month post release, even if the game is worth the $50-60 to me, because I will just end up feeling short changed, even when I can easily afford the game at full price. |

I played NS1 a lot a few years back, and just started NS2, and yes it is very much the same to a large extend.
I don't care it is hard though to get going - rookie servers are great for new people, especially new to commanding, players are very understanding if the commander that jumps in upfront says 'hey I am new so don't complain', and a lot more people use mic these days, making things a lot smoother and team communication a lot better.
So I don't understand what all the negativity is about.
Sure there are bad matches now and then, when you just wish the commander had followed all your suggestions... but also had amazing games where a good commander ensured a very good game.
It's all about real teamwork, which it is hard to find in other games, and it fails at times, because people go lone wolf, but that is all part of the dynamics that make it great in my opinion.

Although games may be a prime candidate for resell, think about all the companies that have business software, and then of course there is all the smartphone apps.
Now that would really make for an interesting marketplace. |
