This isnt about SC. It was, is and will only be about himself. He's a textbook narcissist.

exactly, and the fact anyone responds to him in any positive way baffles. I haven't seen this level of narcissism in a long time. Wow guy is a real piece of work.

They've got what? 6 offices of varying size and 200'ish employees? That has to be 20 mil per annum and that's deffo on the low side. They must have spent at least 30ish mil so far? That sound about right. So they've got 2-3 years before the bread runs out. Heh, good luck.

I think they are closer to 300 by now.. and yeah they have subscribers who fork over money on a monthly basis that does not get added to the 85 mil total, so they have other monies coming in..

How hard is it to understand that other people might have their own anecdotal evidence that contradicts yours? It's not like its difficult to find evidence of AMD driver problems on the internet. Do you think everyone is just making it up or that every single person how somehow misconfigured their machine? Team green? What the fuck is that? Fucking gamers think like kids.

Arkhams Razor - the simplest explanation is that AMD has crappy drivers and some people have problems with them. No one said Nvidia was perfect either genius.

team green was only another way of saying nvidia, an attempt at being less repetitive; sandy vagina much?

disclaimer: I have had both AMD and Nvidia cards over the years, I have no allegiance to either. Just a few days ago I ordered an 980Ti based off of the latest benchmarks showing that the Fury X does not in fact wipe the floor with the green team

how is it looking at 1440p?
I was looking into getting a Fury but now it seems like going the 980Ti route is the better option.
I game at 1440p and plan to for the next 1-2 years before jumping to 4k once the gpu's can actually handle it nicely. 2016 at the earliest

I grabbed ARK as a few other people I know did. It's still early but it's good and it's fun. The potential is there. And it seems the devs know what they're doing. They're adding content at a furious pace. I love the 'Oh shit!' moments in this game. I had to swim from one island to another, so I'm looking for the shallowest and safest passage. It's not there. Halfway out the shallows drop off into a gorge. It's dark. It looks clear. I start swimming. Almost to the shallows on the other side and CHOMP! A megladon comes up behind me out of the deep and has me as a snack.

You may want to hold off until it hits beta but I think they're going to deliver with this. They've already done 10 million in sales apparently. So crafting survival game + dinosaurs = win.

btw, Cutter, where did you get that 10 million figure? I'd be interested to read up on it, that's a HUGE success story if true

I've played ARK, and I still don't know how or why people can stay on it for so long... there are people on my friends' main server who stay in-game for up to 10-11 hours at a time.

The game has potential, yes, but it feels so alpha that it's crazy. Or maybe it's the server... it's an official server, almost always full at 70 players. There's rubber banding, lag, delays in doing things, getting stuck in dinosaurs, getting pushed aside by your own dinosaurs (that are following you, and end up on top of you)... RUST is so much more developed, fluid, and better running right now, but it's not as popular. This is basically super-alpha RUST with dinosaurs.

Similar problems as RUST too. Have to play A LOT, consistently, or you lose everything and get raided. Probably the only thing I don't like about RUST. Some people need a break...

I'm with you on that. I have both games and Ark needs so much polish still; I HATE rubberbanding so much and the other technical problems you mention. I don't mind the hardcore aspect of these games that much, I think it's partly why I like them, I've grown tired of the carebear games.
Rust is such an awesome game, I know it's still e.a but damn is it fun. I've put in hundreds of hours into it already. Game just feels clean and crisp

at 4k you don't need AA tho i think, especially on a computer monitor. kinda speaking out of my ass, but the pixels would be so small that jaggies would be invisible. i play on a 1920x1200 27" screen, and i only do low AA cuz that's more than sufficient to get the jaggies away. i imagine if the pixels were a quarter the size i could turn AA off and not really notice unless i buried my nose on the screen.

you sir are correct, but it's always fun to listen to a bunch of people talk out of their ass as if it were 'fact'.

thus spoke the uber n00b

You absolutely do need AA, no matter the resolution because textures are never 100% smooth and seamless. No matter how hard the artists may try, you always have texture seams and if you use 16x AF for nicer and sharper textures it exacerbates the issue.
The result is either texture flickering or just a certain level of "noise" in the image. All of this is especially the case in games with grass and lots of vegetation where you have lots of overlapping textures and potential jaggies.

That's why you ALWAYS (regardless of resolution) want to use at least 2x MSAA to smooth your image without making it blurry like shitty FXAA does.
Well, it's what image quality connoisseurs (those who would actually care about running 4K) would want to do.
But some of you console peasants probably wouldn't know image quality even if it crawled out of your pixel puke soup 60" 1280x720 TV and bit ya in the ass!

sure thing mate. I've been playing at 1440p for 4+ years now on top of the line pc hardware, good try though

how come there are so many assholes on this board? One guy tells me to use my head for me just posting a link I came across and thought I'd share on the relevant thread (which I didn't say I believed AMD or anything like that, and which Blues actually posted the same link later on) and the other guy parrot because I missed his post.
good stuff

This marketing spin AMD has been doing with "great for 4K gaming!!!" is pretty retarded. The 390X is not suited for 4K and the added 4GB of vram is essentially useless since the card doesn't have the muscle anyway, you need a dual card solution at that point.
That crap AMD pulled with KitGuru was disappointing to read about too. They basically yanked his review sample because of "negative coverage of the 300 series". How is he supposed to cover another set of rebadged cards? It is what it is. That's some shit I would expect from Nvidia.

The Fury X is the only compelling card in the line up and even then why do I want a video card that barely competes with a 980 Ti, is priced similarly and needs a rad mount?

where do you get the "barely competes with 980ti" from ?

Yeah I've been running this R9 290 with zero driver issues. none whatsoever, so I can't argue with you on this one.
Like I've said before, I have no allegiance to any of the two, I was running nvidia for years.
Whatever is better product is what I am interested in.

Anyone been following, what are the best Free sync monitors ? Looking for IPS 1440p free sync.

Unfortunately there are no free sync monitors that are comparable to G-Sync, they all suffering from bad Ghosting and don't go nearly as low as 1hz that G-Sync does. They are great on the top end but have no actual hardware to deal with the low end like G-Sync does with it frame doubling, tripling, quadrupling, etc. hardware does.

Here is a great demo of the differing technologies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkrJU5d2RfA

you say they are great on the top end but not on the low end, since I am looking at the Fury which is a high end card, then freesync monitor should be fine?
Looks like ASUS is making a nice looking freesync IPS 1440p 144hz:
