Not all of Canada is that bad. In Quebec I was running 30mb for CAD54/month (equivalent to USD 43.00) + CAD 10.00 (equivalent US D8.00) for unlimited options. (Granted it would be CAD30.00 for the unlimited if I didn't subscribe to the cable tv plan too. (having at least 2 services qualifies for the $10 unlimited internet add-on)

The 60mb option is CAD69/month (equivalent USD 55.50) with the same unlimited options.

I'm not the ignore type, so that's fine. Just pointing out... not sur how to reply cuz your post history is quite clear... and if you think the way you phrase things with regards to SC isn't talking shit at all, well I doubt I can help (in SC threads, in ED threads etc. you post about SC in almost every ED thread that came up.. You telling me you were saying positive things?)

Another Star Citizen post for the haters to gather around.
How can there be so much vitriol towards a game that someone feels they have to spew on it every time there is a post?
What wasted emotion...

Yea I know it's pretty funny that guys like spectralmeat come on every single SC post to talk shit about it and then I remember the one time I sorta copied that attitude with ED(which I regret and apologized) and then Nin comes in and chides me for it.

Nin how bout chiding these guys once in a while too? or it seems you enjoy doing it as well with 1 liners and then calling out others? =\
Or Spectralmeat who said "just ignore the trolls"
So are you calling yourself a troll ? Cuz you do this on every SC post

News Comments > Elite: Dangerous Server Issues Follow-up
2. Re: Elite: Dangerous Server Issues Follow-up Jan 5, 2015, 10:20 {PH}88fingers

hey nin, I have nothing against this game, and sorry if seemed like it, I guess the negativity around rubs off
I might give this game a try in the future if more content is added and the problems associated with economy bugs are fixed.
That's actually my biggest concern for SC is hacking/economy bugs/hacks. As good as a game is, the cheaters always ruin it for me. I sometimes understand better why solo play is what many people want.
I can go back to thinking about Asheron's Call on PVP server Darktide and having so much fun... and then the botters came. =(

In anycase, getting back on track, I hope this game (Elite Dangerous) gets some fixes and added content and becomes a great game.
I have a Warthog hotas waiting to be used on good games

I'd say that's the first solid proof I've read indicating this game is in real trouble.
I'd say you misunderstand him on purpose. He just says that he scales production according to the amount of money coming in. The more money comes in the bigger the scope gets. There is no fixed end of developement. When some more millions are coming in, he spend this money on making more content, polishing existing content or introducing new features.

Exactly. Sounds like the nerds here want him to pocket the extra cash he receives as "pure profit" since they are not happy he is putting it back into the game.
I'm more than happy that rich nerds are funding this game for me. Why all this raging? I get to have fun in this game paid for by rich idiots. Why would this make me mad

Yeah I'm with you on that it remains to be seen.
I just choose to withhold throwing insults ala Cutter until we have actual proof of the developer pulling a fast one on their customers, which up to this point Roberts has not done.
I have been following the development with much pleasure. The ride so far has been more fun than lots of games I paid good money for.

14. Re: Star Citizen Arena Commander Version 1.0 Released Dec 21, 2014, 20:23 {PH}88fingers

I think this nicely leads into a point many people miss about Star Citizen. To get the game, including the Squadron 42 single player campaign, you only need to pay $45. That gets you a starter ship, access to Arena Commander, the persistent universe beta and the final game.

Will someone who spends $250 or even $15k have an advantage over someone who puts in $45? Depending on the circumstances, a little, but not a lot. The whole concept of pay to win in the context of Star Citizen is murky and not well explained. If you have a better ship, you are likely to win if you are fighting someone with a cheaper ship. But that assumes you are going to be fighting. Much of the game is going to be like Privateer, missions, trade, encounters etc. There will also be mining and exploration. You may have an advantage over others when you have a better ship, but in the scheme of the game, winning is about having fun and not who has the biggest bank balance.

90% of the game's population are NPCs and they are designed to be difficult to distinguish between players and NPCs. The game will begin with NPCs having all types of ships from starter ships to capital ships. Being concerned about if a player will have a better ships isn't the question you should be worried about.

One more thing not mentioned frequently is that the game is playable offline and you can run your own private modifiable servers. If you don't want to 'compete' with people who have put in more money than you, you can enjoy it on your own server with your own group of friends.

The final point is that balancing has not been done. Their goal is to balance the ships so that there is no one ship which is good at everything. It has been described as rock-paper-scissors. A space superiority fighter may be excellent against ships of similar size or smaller, but useless against larger targets. A heavy bomber may be excellent against larger ships, but nearly useless against smaller ones. A gunship may be excellent for close-support, but useless against stand-off missileboats.

Those who have put in far too much money by our standards will not dominate, they have said that progression to bigger ships will be fairly easy and not take a lot of time. The Constellation Andromeda, a ship which sells for $225 in the pledge store, will be affordable with 40-60 hours of playtime.

Teamwork in this game will be extremely valuable. Finding a good organisation compatible with your playstyle and goals will be key to getting the most out of the game.

If you love space games, don't write off Star Citizen as some pay to win paradise, because it isn't. $45 is a bargain for what you get right now. The final sale price of the game is likely to be comparable to most AAA titles.

Just because Cutter says SQ42 will be 1 hour doesn't make it so. Roberts has already said just the first 10 missions alone is bigger than any of his other games. You can choose to call him a liar if you want, that is up to you.

I'm playing the paid version on steam at 2560x1440 with a R9 290 and so far it's running everything great at near max settings with the latest patch. Is there any way to skip the intro movies when I load the game?

People are concerned about SC because the devs are promising a hell of a lot - which IMHO makes similar feature cuts/delays almost inevitable.
RSI may have a tiny little bit more ressources available (and still rolling millions in) than Frontier Developement ever dreamt of.

You really cant compare both projects. They only share the same genre and setting, nothing more.

I thought Frontier got 90 million from IPO ?

I think there are a lot of disappointed people out there because Far Cry 4 is not much of a blockbuster. Nice graphics and new area, but everything else is almost identical to 3.

What's wrong with that? A lot of people buy sequels because they loved the previous game. I would play a completely different game if I'm looking for something new. But If I want more Far Cry, I'll play Far Cry 4. That's how it goes.

Exactly. I loved FC3 so I bought FC4. Looking forward to playing it this week

Has anyone gone through the process of requesting a refund?
some special link I have to go to?
I will proceed with my request, I logged in a total of 15 minutes I think since I bought the Alpha and not only am I not impressed, the way Braben lied about shit warrants this move.

You have to put in a request through their e-store, same place you bought the Alpha.

Are you gonna cry like a baby when they tell you that they are not goning to refund you due to you having played it in alpha?

Did you not understand when you payed them money, that the game may not turn out to be everything you hoped?

What is it you don't like about the gameplay?

Why don't you in the future, wait until a product is finished and released to buy it if you are only gonna play 15 mins of the alpha?

Please tell me, what it was that failed to impress you?

Had you ever played any of the earler Elite games?

What bothers you so much that I am requesting a refund? Will you cry like baby when I get my money back? I bought the game so I could play when offshore with zero internet connection because that's what was promised. I will not be able to play now during those times.
Lie = money back end of story.
Game being shitty is just icing on the cake
