NOLF 2: one of the best FPS games ever. The AI and missions in that game are second to none.

Ray Ban wrote on Aug 24, 2011, 15:33:
Anyone remember the great AI in NOLF 2?

If you went into a building and turned out the lights to conceal yourself, they would come inside, turn on the lights and look around.

Other times they would take a break in their patrol to take a leak. Excellent opportunity to dispose of them without anyone noticing.

In one of the missions you were supposed to assassinate the commanding officer of a camp. I hid in a bathroom with two stalls while contemplating how to reach the officer in his office (with large windows). Suddenly the officer came strolling into the bathroom to do his business, which made things much easier for me

Looking forward to playing DX:HR this weekend!

Me too, I'm thinking when it gets cold out I'll try this one, otherwise too much to do involving other games and the great outdoors.

Did you keep playing? Did you persevere through the troublesome mechanics? Come on, you have to follow up.

Sorry, just noticed that you got a shelter built. Yes, you want at least one because the guide will also move into the first one you build. I'll get a screenshot of mine.

You're missing that the first day you should build a house, ideally near the center (where you originally spawned).

Go to the Terraria Wiki
http://wiki.terrariaonline.com/Terraria_Wiki

There's a ton of items you can find, including a jump height increaser (balloon) and a double jump. The first day you should chop wood and build a house. There are youtube videos to help with this, but honestly I found the initial building of a house thing to be one of the harder parts of the game. There are several requirements for what constitutes a house, but basically something with walls and a door, light source and table. You eventually will have a several houses linked together for your NPCs. This becomes your base for when stuff like the goblin invasion happens or a blood moon, which is where the zombies can get into your house by busting down the door. Here's the basic rundown of the milestones of terraria:

1. Build house
2. Mine for metal
3. Craft armor and weapons out of the metal
4. Kill enemies with better weapons to get money
5. Go to the corruption and find stuff (if you go there with basic equipment you'll die fast, you want like silver level stuff first)
6. Get 6 lenses then find a demon altar to craft a suspicious looking eye, which summons the first boss
7. Kill first boss (eye of cthulhu) and get all the loot he drops
8. If Cthulhu kills your sorry ass, go back to step 6.
9. Use the demonite ore that you got from ctlulhu to make demonite bars at a furnace
10. Use demonite bars to make higher level weapons and armor, at an iron anvil
11. Spend more time in the corruption getting vile powder and rotten chunks to make worm food (at a demon altar)
12. Summon the eater of worlds with your worm food when you're in the corruption
13. Get your ass kicked by eater of worlds
14. Get better weapons and fight eater of worlds again
15. Beat eater of worlds and get all his loot, including demonite and shadow scales.
16. Use loot to make better stuff
17. Mine some more
18. By now you should have the nurse, merchant, dryad, and demolitionist living in the houses you built for them with the wood you chopped down.
19. Go to the other side of the corruption, where there's deserts and jungles
20. Find out which side of your map has the dungeon
21. Go to the dungeon entrance and fight skeletron, beat skeletron and you're allowed in the dungeon.

I'm skipping a ton of stuff here - the underworld, crafting potions, floating islands, etc. But I'd say keep trying, once you get a good base built you're off to a good start.

Do any of you guys play chess? I just got on chess.com and my name is the same as here. I really suck, but if anyone wants to play that would be cool. I prefer the 30 min games.

Yeah it couldn't be 30 years, seems like yesterday huh!! A few days ago, I mistook something that happened over 3 years ago to have been in the "past couple months."

Not to state the obvious, but MTV really did become some sort of marketing tool first, then devolved into another network with shows produced for its audience which got progressively worse. I don't even think they do MTV News anymore. When it was centered on music it wasn't so bad; I remember staying up late with my brother and sister watching the top 100 countdowns or waiting for some video premiere, having a blast arguing about what the rankings would be and all that. Music videos are weird and unnecessary, but artists seem to take them seriously.

Thanks for the info - surprising that type of site would be successful, but not totally unbelievable.

Considering I don't know what ige.com is, no I haven't lately.
It is gold selling service. They sell virtual currency for all the big games. It is a big business. I don't have any details about how much they make, but I'd be shocked if it isn't many thousands every month.

I guarantee you D3 will be added to the list of supported games in short order, assuming the game goes forward as described in this news release.

Considering I don't know what ige.com is, no I haven't lately. I just have too many porn sites to get to. Anyways this game doesn't look like my cup of tea to begin with, but all I can say is these companies must really think we are retarded.

Driving north through NC a couple years ago, I literally thought I was gonna die the entire time. It must be some combination of road design and a ton of really bad drivers in the same place.

There's plenty of musicians who just wanted to be musicians, and weren't really looking for fame and all that. Just because it happened to them doens't mean they wanted it to and are orchestrating it all. I'm pretty sure celebrities also have money problems - why are you thinking about it in almost totally financial terms??

I'm certain you haven't the slightest clue as to what true addiction really entails. Even bringing in the concept of "natural selection". You have no idea how stupid that sounded. Natural selection works on a lower level than choosing to do drugs, not to mention it doesn't really happen with humans any more. Bunch of fuckin idiots.

This is funny, I told someone to fuck off a little while ago and my comment was deleted, yet you're all making assumptions about someone dying, have determined the cause of death, and are passing judgment when she's not yet cold in her grave. It's always sad when someone dies, and I don't need to hear you guys rehash stuff I've heard about 3000 times before (DRUGS ARE BAD MMMKAY??) Get off your high horses.

Wow you must be so tough and cool under pressure!! I wish I had the balls to drive like you awesome eh-big-deal people. Keep telling yourself it's just snow, and we'll continue this after your first big accident.

Hey don't worry, I'll let Bluesnews know when it happens. Until then I'm not going to be driving 10mph with the hazards on just because of some snow on the road. Obviously safer and slower driving is called for with snow but if people's fears are causing them to drive that slowly maybe they shouldn't be on the road at all.

This is a great July discussion
