It's released yeah, as much as PGI would like to claim it's still beta. They've been taking money for months now and there will be no resets. Sounds like a f2p launch to me and according to some recent forum polls, most players would agree.
Really the beta label is just to protect them from major gaming sites trashing their product. They devs stated they have some sort of agreement that it wouldn't be reviewed until its out of open beta. They also stated that it would be moved out of open beta when community warfare was in, which was supposed to be 6 months from open beta, but they haven't mentioned a peep about it since open beta went live months ago, so it's likely very much delayed.
Considering the rate they've been adding content, it could be "beta" for years. |

Well they fixed my main issue of crashing on load, props for that, but the black screen and 4 FPS bugs are still present and the performance increases weren't noticeable.
My FPS is still hanging in the barely playable range on low settings and using a custom config to make it look even worse. This is with a quad core @ 3hz and a 4850, which is able to run farcry 3 on high smoothly, so they still have quite a ways to go optimization wise. |

Of course there is one "beta" apologist in every thread. Considering anyone can download and play, they're taking money, and there will be no more wipes, it's no longer beta, no matter what they label it or how incomplete it is.
If the devs think anyone besides big gaming media sites that they pay will give them the benefit of the doubt on their "open beta" they are naive to say the least.
I'm enjoying it for now, but I've been waiting for a new MW game for a long time. |

The matchmaker situation is only temporary. The devs have stated this over and over again and have recently laid out a multi-phase plan to alleviate the major complaints (of PUG players).
Luckily most of the founders have a more long term view of the game and weren't dismayed by the matchmaking. After all, it is incredibly easy to find a group by joining a house or simply connecting to the official unofficial TS3 server which is usually packed with 100 people all looking to group up for drops. |

| Was super blatant pay 2 win when I played the beta about 6 months back. I'm not sure it's worth a second look. (some of the pay2win ammo literally did 50% more damage than normal AND penetrated armor). |

| Played about 15 seconds before I quit in disgust. There's nothing massively multiplayer about this game. 12v12 on "maps" isn't an MMO, you'd think trion would know better. |
