Somehow when EA says that customer service is going to "accommodate me", I don't really believe it.

I'm afraid it's you who'll be "accommodating" them, now bend over...

I definitely was thinking of Vandersexxx from Eurotrip when I thought of EA customer service...

Not that this is an amazing sale, but the PS+ store is offering a 10% discount on one total order this weekend. In case anyone's not busy playing POE instead.

Yeah, seems pretty stupid of him to pour more oil into the fire, especially as late as March '15. Thought we were past that shit by now.

Well Tim isn't known to be timely... (I couldn't resist)

What's this "Fuck you" thing though? Did that actually happen? Maybe I did miss something.

Article #1 in the link below is what I think he's referring to.

Don't understand your correlation between, funding a game in advance and Steam bargain bin

Here's roughly my A to B thinking:
The amount of backer complaints on $25 pricing were constant and numerous (and seemed to be the top complaint). Lots of people gave feedback they wanted a much lower price.

Separately, Steam has done a good job of teaching PC gamers to wait for heavily discounted games. My guess is if you look at the percentage of PC game units sold on a discount, it would be much higher now than it's been in the past.

Third point would be, Kickstarted games eventually end up on deep discount Steam sales. Steam has more market share than other game retailers and would sell more discounted games than anyone else.

Add point 1, 2, and 3 together. And that leads me to believe that people didn't back this project because they're waiting for cheaper prices (aka the bargain bin).

Arcades were fantastic in the pre-1995 era. Sadly not as useful anymore due to not delivering enough value per dollar as consoles became better.

Disappointed in my fellow gamers for not supporting this one. That's one of the effects of Steam, everyone waiting for the bargain bin.

I feel sorry for people who bought this. Hang on, no I don't.

The beta proved that this game was a POS, excessive DRM is just the mayo on the shit sandwich.

I can't keep up with all the terms that are ok then not ok to call black people. I can't think of a racial group that has had more different names over the past 50 years.

I do love the fact that we've got SJWs attacking Dragon Age. It's like SJW vs SJW going on.

That media corruption just keeps on coming, clearly Time looks to be in the corrupt category if they think Sarkesian is influential.

This is likely the last "closed" console generation we will see. The push for an open platform is as strong as it will ever be.

"Consoles" or the concept of home-theater set-top gaming devices... are not going anywhere.

I just don't see it. Microsoft is pushing towards a walled garden for Windows, Xbox is there, Apple is there, Sony is there. Open platform is going to exist only due to consumer demand.

Consoles are perfectly fine and will continue coming out in the future. Gaming devices that work out of the box. That's what console consumers want, which is why PS4>Xbox sales.

Wonder how long "Act 2" will be in gameplay - One hour? Two?

They've previously given a 8-12 hour figure, based on playtest data, which makes it substantially longer than Act 1. We'll see what it shakes down to in reality, and how much of that may be down to more difficult puzzles.

Hopefully Tim Schafer didn't provide those playtest numbers, as he's shown a couple of times math isn't his specialty

Of course not, he's already blown all the money on hosting parties.

Exactly. Wonder how long "Act 2" will be in gameplay - One hour? Two?

Double Fine is not anyone I would choose to back or buy early access from with their questionable ethics. Actually I wouldn't buy their games either due to their anti-GG stance.

Before we start complaining about version 1.1 not being a real version 1.0+ as it's not even in Beta, let's remember this is "Arena Commander", not "Star Citizen", despite the title of this news update on Blues News. "Arena Commander" is in version 1.1.

The "Roberts Space Industries" website calls this Star Citizen 1.1. Can't blame Blue for that.

CIG doesn't make any money by calling it 1.1 instead of 0.1 or 0.0001.

I have to think it helps with the fundraising to claim version 1.1 rather than 0.1. Regardless of what I think of Star Citizen, I believe they're very, very good at raising money.
