Just had a similar issue with my 60" tv and was able to fix it by opening it up and cleaning everything with airduster and re-seating all the ribbon cable connections. If you haven't yet, Blue, give it a try.

Edit: mine's not dlp, but led-LCD. Don't know how much different the internals are but I'm guessing it's a bit more complicated. Might be a common issue with known fixes though, so worth exercising some Google-fu on at least.

Valve's solution already looks 10,000 times better.

nobody has seen what cv1 is going to look like or what input mechanism and sensors it will ship with.

Also, nobody is going to be using a mouse and keyboard for vr gaming, nor has anyone suggested that this is going to be a thing. "Hardcore" pc gamers who can't wrap their head around the concept of using a differeent set of input devices need not apply. This is a paradigm shift in gaming, not just a new monitor with some fancy sensors. CES will be very interesting this year with some major players all showing finalized designs and I'm excited for the amount of competition and potential out there.

I never understood these Christian gamers who play First Person Shooters or even host Battlefield servers. Killing for Jesus? Seems to go against everything that Christianity is based on. I do a facepalm every time I see a christian server on BF3/4. These people are the biggest hypocrites.

More people have been murdered in the name of religion than anything else I can think of. Actual xtians who follow the supposed lessons Jesus was teaching are probably the rarest of humans,IMO.

I did some pro gaming (or what passed for it back then) as a teen and I'd say the biggest obstacle for me was anxiety. Maintaining a certain level of play and people expecting you to always be that good really wore me down. It got to the point (pretty rapidly, I might add) that I wasn't enjoying those games anymore and that to me seemed pretty stupid. I understand that money is a pretty big draw and that most pros in other fields probably face a similar apathy. I guess they say that the ideal job is one you love because it's no longer a job, so you would figure gaming would be great, except that it sucks the fun out of it after a while and it becomes just another job.

Maybe the anxiety aspect is why so many pro gamers take anti-anxiety and adhd "medications" like adderall to improve their game and maintain focus. Legal speed.

I don't recall seeing a link to the nVidia GTA V performance guide on Blues, so I'm just gonna post a link here

EDIT: didn't know about the different command line options, particularly the one that loads up the social club in offline mode so you dont see notifications from friends progress in-game and speed up the load times for single player:

---------------------

Command Line Tweaks

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V, create the file commandline.txt, and add any of the following commands, with a space between each, to modify Grand Theft Auto V when it next loads.

-benchmark: Automatically loads the in-game benchmark instead of single or multiplayer game modes

-benchmarkFrameTimes: Output frame times from the benchmark to help identify stuttering

-benchmarkIterations x: Specifies the number of benchmark runs

-benchmarkPass x: Limits the benchmark to one of the four scenes

-benchmarknoaudio: Disables audio in the benchmark

-disableHyperthreading: Disables Hyper Threading on CPUs

-goStraightToMP: Loads the game directly into a multiplayer match

-ignoreDifferentVideoCard: Prevents the game from resetting graphics options when swapping GPUs

-GPUCount: Specify the number of GPUs that should be utilized

-pedLodBias 0.0-1.0f: Overrides the Population Density setting, enabling you to manually specify the number of civilians. Use in concert with -vehicleLodBias to fine-tune Population Density to your tastes

-scOfflineOnly: Sets Rockstar Social Club to offline mode, which helps accelerate single-player loading times, and eliminates any spoilerific pop-ups about friends' progress

-StraightIntoFreemode: Loads the game directly into multiplayer freemode

-vehicleLodBias 0.0-1.0f: Overrides the Population Density setting, enabling you to manually specify the number of vehicles. Use in concert with -pedLodBias to fine-tune Population Density to your tastes

Saw another cheater in multiplayer tonight who had an automatic weapon that shoots money bags, instantly putting the money in players' inventory if it directly hits them. He was flying around all over the place on the freeroam I was in, unloading 40k moneybag rounds into everyone.. it was like some strange moneybag bukkake at times as he seemed like he was shooting from multiple angles at once. Freak

There's some strange shit going on in GTA Online, it's got more regular hackers(cheaters) in it than I see in even SA:MP.

Still no support for steering wheels or joysticks?

I wouldn't expect any support for either of those from Rockstar, as they've never had support for those control devices in the past in GTA games, AFAIK.

I just envisioned a 360 degree cockpit with 4 different screens on opposite ends and an automated mechanical seat that would lock you into position for all the different control devices that you could potentially use for a game like this.

Awesome! Now all the players who "fixed their saves" after cheating to obtain +14 weapons can play with themselves and leave the non-cheaters alone!

Jesus, if their game wasn't so broken from the outset that you could *only* make +10 upgrades, this wouldn't have ever been an issue! Fucking From Software releasing this completely broken BS... I want a full refund NOW!

It's a TRAP!

I played with a blatant cheater in a match of survival, dude was firing rockets out of a minigun. It didn't bother me because it's a PvE mode and he even asked if I wanted to just blow through the rounds fast. I still got in some kills myself.

As for this FOV issue, I've seen some posts saying people have had a warning pop up about not using mods but where is the link to the posts about being banned on reddit? Rockstar is super busy putting crappy LOD filters in the game but they can't be bothered with increasing the FOV limit to at least 90 degrees?

The bulk of GTA online is PvE with the heists being the main draw, if they're going to single me out for increasing the first person FOV to 90 then I'll just play the single player with a crack file if necessary and then delete the game. The PvP modes in GTA Online are complete crap, it's no wonder why people treat the open world lobby as a never ending deathmatch event.

I actually quite enjoy some of the PVP modes. Racing is my favorite, and I tend to do pretty well in those (Currently I have ~80 wins and ~75 losses), but also some of the adversary modes are a riot, with really strange conditions like semis vs bicycles that make things quite fun, as long as there arent any cheaters. Been seeing a lot more cheaters in races the past couple days, unfortunately.. which takes most of the fun out of it.

LoL, if that's true, that is a hilarious cheat. Just cruise around showering money, littering the streets with it and making players rich.

Witnessed it last night with another member of the BluesNews crew, we talked to this cheater trying to find out what enjoyment he got from killing people while invincible, and he broke down and admitted he was just some sad basement-dweller who used cheats in every game when he gets bored of them. He then repaid the server for his torment by loading up a different hack and coming back on with the animated car erupting money bags at the airport. LOL

HAHAHA serves everyone right for falling for Rockstar's infinitely delayed scam game.

GTA V is worth every penny that's been paid for it on every platform I've played it on, including PC. If ever there were a "scam game", this is not it. I think you may be due for a check with a mental health specialist with how partisan you seem get over software not being released exactly as you deem fit. Does it hurt you that people are getting immense enjoyment from software and games that you don't prefer? I'm so sorry for your condition, if so. Get well soon. <3

Gta v has a ton of cheats on pc right now, some of the most prevalent being repackaged gta iv cheats that still work with little to no modification necessary.

Bomb any player on a server at any time, hacked cars with animated textures erupting 40k bags of money, invincibility, aimbots, car speed and weapons hacks in races.. the works.

If rockstar doesn't address the situation soon their playerbase for gta online is going to tank quickly.

I was one of the three or four people on the planet who actually enjoyed and liked Ultima8. It was frustrating at times true, but it was also unbelievably satifisfying when you found out what you were supposed to be doing. This game did the opposite of handholding.

I also enjoyed u8, though 7 was probably my favorite of the series. It's a shame what happened to this series and what form the new Lord British game is taking

What about the Nvidia GTAV drivers? Do they make any difference? Has anyone benchmarked them compared to older (more stable?) drivers?

When gta V released I tested the new nvidia drivers vs the existing drivers I had (337.42) and found that there was no difference in frame rate really. This is with an old gtx 480 , however, so mileage may vary with newer cards of course. Played with the old drivers for about a day before updating and I did not notice any difference in the variance of hitches or smoothness compared to newer drivers. The only thing that significantly reduced any nagging stutter or hitches occasionally that I saw, was disabling the user radio station. (Deleting or moving all the shortcuts out of the user music folder)

New drivers have exhibited absolutely no issues compared to old ones after about a week of using them, so they seem good so far!

come on, people, i know that alot of you are blind to developers you heartthrob after, but REALLY? that's MAX graphics on dual 970's?

it looks like last-gen consolized garbage, uprezzed to PC 2 years too late, oh wait, that's exactly what it is!

reminds me about how when it came out for PS4 people were gooing over the graphics, people forgot to mention that there was 500ms of input lag on the dualshock 4! minor omission i should say. who cares! we <3 rockstar!

i mean, it's not a bad looking game, but come the fuck on! this is not surpassing 8-year old crysis, not even it's shitty consolized sequels, this isn't dethroning anything anytime soon. everything looks so flat.

call me when they make a game for THIS generation, oh wait, that'll be in another 10 years so they can sell 100m copies to a large install base. i get the financial reason to wait till the end of the cycle, but please don't fool yourselves that this is some amazing piece of work for the PC master race, this is recycled uprezzed shite.

getting a zero input lag mouse wasn't a priority enough for them, 19 fucking months AFTER launch. they should be lynched for this, instead people sing their praises. it's pathetic.

Uh this isn't counterstrike or quake we're talking about here, and your entitlement card definitely gets another punch for claiming anyone should be lynched over the amount of input lag in a fucking 3rd person action game. Try 180 noscoping something irl and tell me how that works for you, omg we should lynch the air and our muscles for preventing us from moving our bodies as quickly as we can flick a mouse with our wrist to turn in a twitch fps game! Horror!

I'm getting quite frustrated with GTA Online. It always freezes after each mission. First time it happened, the game wouldn't launch afterwards. Not even single player. Had to restart my computer, then it would work again. Did a mission, freeze. Ugh.

I've had this happen a couple times and so have people I've been playing with. You'll find when it freezes you can still bring up the rockstar overlay (home key or back/select + r1 on controller), and if you have a friend online you can just choose to join their game from there and it will prevent you from having to do anything more drastic (task manager:kill process is what i was doing originally when this happened)

GTA V has been awesome so far. I need to get back to the single player campaign but online is just so addictive. Been racing alot and have 38 wins and 46 losses! Not shabby considering most of these races are with more than 8 opponents.

Saw my first cheater today in GTA Online also. Dude took 2 full clips to the head from me and casually walked over to my car and pulled out what looked like a machine gun and shot a rocket point-blank from it and killed me and destroyed my armored car, but didnt hurt him at all.

Hardline was way overpriced IMO. Wrong strategy. EA got super greedy with this title. I think it would've done a lot better at a $20-30 price point instead of $50-70, given that it's easily seen as more of a modded BF4 than its own unique game. At least, those who see it that way will be expecting the price to drop substantially and will just wait until that happens. That's where I'm at with it, anyway. But if enough time passes, I probably won't have much desire to pick it up even at a drastically lowered price.

Besides the obvious link to battlefield it almost feels like you're talking about Evolve here
