Strange how a lot of people in the Ars comments don't seem to know how LCDs work. LCDs don't have a refresh rate? Uh huh. 
Anyway, the game is a joke of a port and anyone who buys this without getting a heavy discount is doing the PC as a gaming platform a huge disservice. Why people would buy it even on a console, I have no idea. |

Nice little app. Would voice commands be possible to select the words? Apologies if it already has it.
I say this with no WP7 phone in my possession though, just seemed like a neat idea.  |

I'd need to know a bit more I think. How many times will it let you authenticate? Does it allow you to play offline for an indefinite period? Any plans to remove the requirement after a specified time?
I'm still not liking it much. I don't tend to pay full price for games on Steam because of the same requirement (Half-life 2 may be the only exception). I'll probably wait for it to come down in price now.
A step in the right direction at least but I'm trying not to get worn down to accept more and more DRM. People would have been up in arms about needing to authenticate at install time not so long ago. |

The Witcher 2 looks like living up to the first but I assume it's being made by people who want to make it, rather than people who have just been told to.
DX3 on the other hand...we're all hoping it won't be shit but "isn't shit" is hardly a great step up from the second game and pales compared to the first. |

I must be missing something. What's the connection between B:AA and PCF?
Painkiller, the GoW port and this is their total output isn't it? One out of 3* isn't really a great hit rate either.
*OK, I'm just assuming in the case of Bulletstorm. :p |

P.S. Unrelatedly, just played through The Neverhood again last night... have to say that while the game has aged graphically, it's still tons of fun to go through. How's plasticine age? Does it look too low res now or something? I loved that game. Had to hunt for it on eBay though. Came out a bit before my PC days started.
I really hope Portal 2 doesn't disappoint but, pessimistic as I am, how can you top the original? Bah, it's Valve, it'll be great. |

I haven't played a baseball game since World Series Baseball on the Saturn. I'm half tempted to buy this but availability isn't too good in the UK, for PC at least, and it could just be nostalgia talking. Sounds like the last one was rather buggy too.
Anyone got any experience of the series, PC or otherwise?
edit: too console centric for the Blue's News crowd I guess.
