Apple fans are never irked at new stuff. Many/most of them rush to buy the next gen even if they bought theirs a couple months ago. Which is why apple releases new gens so fast after all. They make piles of money doing it.
That same thing can be said about Android fans also. How often does a new Android tablet come out like every 3-4 months or less?

Nexus models are one year apart, and don't have Apples history of one refresh every year for thirty years. When you have this long of a history of one year refreshes (maybe pushed a month or three back) is one thing, suddenly six-seven months later is a different. I know my friend would have just waited for this iPad instead of getting his three months ago.

As I just switched over to Linux, this makes me very happy. Though personally I'd prefer getting Dota 2 before TF2 in Linux (as TF2 works flawlessly in Wine, where as Dota 2 has a few issues).

Still, a native build is still prefered to me

I'm a debit card man. Never carry a single bill with me anymore, and I don't use a credit card except when renting a car.

If I remember right, there are laws that protect you if you lose your credit card and its stolen (I think legally you are only accountable for the first $50, the rest is your credit card companies problem). The issue is, these laws are for credit cards, they don't effect debit cards so if it gets stolen and your account is drained, that's your problem.

Final Fantasy 3 was awful, on phones or consoles. I've tried to do some Android gaming but even after playing Nova, I find myself just wanting an actual screen with proper input controls. If I had no other way to game then I'm sure the phone might be an adequate platform but since I do there really is no point unless I have no other choice sitting on a train or etc.

Touch screen controls to me is like the Wiimote. In some games I feel it is really amazing (Symphony of Eternity comes to mind). Others... well... Sonic 4 Episode I... yeah...

Its all in which game and how well thought out the controls were

Seriously?? no NOVA, MAX PAYNE, or Dead Trigger or the new Rayman ( actually really fun if you enjoyed origins ) ...??

Nexus 7 rooted running elite kernel at 1800 mhz with 600 mhz GPU playing NOVA with gyroscope controls for precision aiming....
Easily an enjoyable FPS that no hardcore player can convince me that touch controls ABSOLUTELY can't work.
Cus that shits fun and so is GTA and Dead Trigger.

Although Dead Trigger desperately needs Gyro aiming.

Gyro has really made FPS realistic on touch platforms.

It was a quick list. Given some time I could have made a real good list.

Still waiting for software to catch up with android hardware. Weve had quad core phones on the market for how long now and nothing utilizes it? I have an evo 3d from over a year ago..I get a high resolution screen and can take pictures in 3d. There are no new games out...

oh I'm sorry you wanted me to complete that? I just got sidetracked thinking about the fact that as a serious gamer, I have downloaded more new games (6 in the past several months) for my third gen ipod touch then on my android phone (1). Seriously though I am still looking for that one GOOD game that actually takes advantage of my hardware (not talking about the 3d, just any game that has great looking graphics utilizing fast CPU/GPU phones).

Everyone in the pc world will tell you all the flashy hardware systems are used for games by gamers. It seems the android market has been successful in delusioning the market into buying new and flashier hardware without any games or software to demonstrate it.

....

GTA3
Horn
Asphalt 7: Heat
The Bards Tale
The Dark Knight Rises
Dead Space
Final Fantasy 3
Deathdome
Wild Blood

....

Seriously?

I'd expect a "loan" from Intel via some cross-license deal to keep them afloat. It's cheaper to do that than fight yet another anti-trust suit simply because you're the only large player left on the field.

Not unless not only is AMD dying, but so is Qualcomm, NVidia, Texas Instruments, Samsung, CSR plc, ST-Ericsson, etc... (makers of ARM chips found in many newest devices) are all going out of business with them. x86 chips aren't the only chips on the market anymore. And Windows is designed to run on them now, as is Linux, OSX has been showing signs of this, Android, iOS, Blackberry. So its not the same playing field it was 10 years ago

Not really strange. They had the first three available in their Xmas Bundle, this is to help finish the set for those whom have been buying them.

This new version doesn't even support mods or existing third-party maps because Bethesda/id changed the archive file format for the game. There is no command console either.

And nevermind buying it. If I can't mod it or anything, kinda kills a lot of it for me

I have a feeling Apples lawsuit against Samsung helped this. The heart of the case was "look and feel"

Going to get over 100 hours out of the game. Your argument is null and void if you don't have the game. I paid 36 for the main game, got a very large free update, and paid 22 for the DLC. That is less than you paid for most of YOUR games that you will get HALF the time I put into this.

Nickel and dime? Not this title.

I'm so glad you know me so well... And yes, Day 1 season DLC pass is nickel and dime.

BTW, my last game I bought was $80, so much for that theory huh?

I don't really care. You can dance around it all you want, but the reality is I still got a deal. I got both items for cheaper than their suggested price, which is why I purchased them. I'm sorry if that upsets you or makes you think the downfall of gaming is at hand. It's not.

You got a deal that helped promote the nickle and diming of gamers. I'm sorry if it doesn't bother you that you help promote these things and can't see very far ahead. Its your choice.

You can also try to dance around it by twisting my words (discount = OMG $5 year round fire sale, answer back must = cry), and try to rationalize it any way (you got it for a little less, but they still get a profit and saw that your willing to purchase nickle and dime DLC), its your choice in the end and voting with your wallet is what helps make these decisions for future games.

Nope, I paid $22.50.

Your now trying to twist my words to make a basic pre-sale discount look identical to a fire sale price but it isn't working.

No, I'm pointing out how goofy you comment of "a sale is a sale" is.

Still not a fire sale, still not "$5 all year round".

And I'm holding a conversation with you and my GF so I'm not focusing my full attention on this. Let me re-phrase it for you: Your now trying to twist my words to make a basic pre-order discount look identical to a fire sale price but it isn't working.

And a sale that makes a profit, ie not a fire sale price, is still a sale even if at smaller profit. So on the books its seen as a legitimate sale and not a loss (which is what your trying to make it seem like).

Your words.

No, thats your twisting of my words. There is a difference.

You paid a price for the product, not a fire sale price either, and not on the DLC. You paid full price for the DLC, and a sale on the full product, not a $5 price, a price that still made a profit and a good one.

Your now trying to twist my words to make a basic pre-sale discount look identical to a fire sale price but it isn't working. And not only are you trying to do this but your trying to extended it to the price of the DLC, a completely different product then what was on sale (and the product in question).

I said it doesn't matter what you paid since a sale is viewed in this case as a sale. A fire sale price is a whole different subject

I bought the season pass because I got it for $22.50, and the game for $37.50. That would equal the regular price of the game.

I didn't flip flop, I got a deal. Which is the exact same thing people do when they wait for steam sales and pick things up (including DLC).

But don't let the facts get in the way or anything...

No, you got the game for $37.50. You said it right where I put it in bold. You then paid more for DLC. And that's what the makers and every other publisher will see on the fact sheets about you.

"This customer bought 1 copy of BL2. They then also bought the DLC pass."

It doesn't matter how much you paid, they saw you bought either Day 1 DLC or near enough that they will keep doing this. Yes, this is flip-flopping, no it wasn't a deal in the eyes of the publisher. This is a sale of DLC from opening sales so congraz, you supported being nickle and dimed.

But don't let the facts of your own post get in the way or anything...
