Google also fucked up with the Nexus 4 launch, but that's a different issue.

From what I heard, it wasn't that simple. Google made only X, which ended up not being nearly enough. Things is, the Nexus brand never sold well. Combine it with the fact the last time Google sold a phone mostly from their online shop it didn't sell well all means that Google shouldn't make a ton of them as they will be ending up sitting on a ton of stock they can't make.

On the other hand, I'm not happy with this either. I missed out getting the Nexus 10 32gig model by 2 minutes (was adding billing information). It was in my online cart and when I finished with billing information, it was gone and the site suddenly declared it was no longer in stock...

For a tablet review from a gaming focused website you'd think they would mention the Ipad Mini has half the processing power of the Nexus 7 while costing $130 more. Their benchmark says its twice as powerful (somehow) but it too is a little funny as its marked as a 1080p resolution test but none of the 7" tablets are capable of 1080p, the Ipad Mini least of all.

Apparently even Eurogamer has iSheep.

I'm more surprised no one seems to want to point out the obvious.

It's the parts of a two year old tablet in a smaller frame. The iPad 2 was already a pinch behind when it was released last year, and now it's back just a little smaller. Apple marketing at its ultimate finest. Selling really old tech for bleeding edge prices

My roommate has a Razer Naga Epic (wireless one) and it's not even a month old. Was plug and play, no problems. They also don't have the cloud program mentioned here. Sounds like something fishy since this experience doesn't match the reality.

I also have the Razer Naga Molten, and while that cloud program is optional, it's not required to use it.

As I said, last I knew, not it is this. From what I read it was, this is why Darwin code its available but why it can't be compiled into a working OS because only what its needed to be open sourced is.

Now, instead of acting like a little bitch, could you stop swearing at me and explain the differences and why Darwin is open sourced but not complete? Or do you have no idea? I took a quick look at the BSD license before my last response and from what I read, it works pretty much the same as GPL.

You deserve to get heat for not even bothering to look on Wikipedia.

You can compile the Darwin code to a working OS, but that OS is not MacOS. It's the plumbing that's underneath MacOS. Any POSIX compliant code should compile and run on the Darwin that Apple releases. As the code has a BSD heritage, Apple is under no obligation to release the code. That's why they've relicensed it as Apple Public Source License, which is a FSF approved but GPL incompatible license.

By saying you think the BSD and GPL licenses are similar, it sounds like you're trolling. The BSD says "here's the code, do whatever you want with it" whereas the GPL says "here's the code, if you distribute modifications you must also distribute the source code for those modifications".

I went and looked up BSD licenses http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSD_licenses

Two variants of the license, the New BSD License/Modified BSD License,[1] and the Simplified BSD License/FreeBSD License[2] have been verified as GPL-compatible free software licenses by the Free Software Foundation, and have been vetted as open source licenses by the Open Source Initiative

Reading this gave me the belief that the BSD that it was similar enough to merit my statement.

The GPL is not the same as the BSD, and that is why Apple went with the BSD one. It suited them better.

No, the GPL is specifically designed to prevent this.

May I show you OSX and iOS?

While I'm not saying that Valve will make a closed Linux box, claiming that something like the GPL will prevent them is very naive. Apple took the open Mach Kernel and BSD codes and locked them down, only keep as much open as they legally had to.

Somebody doesn't know the difference between the GPL and BSD license. You can close BSD code, but not GPL ... well, unless you are willing to risk a lawsuit.

Last I knew, the BSD is GPL. And thats why Darwin is "open source" because its the part Apple legally needs to keep open. Everything else they tack on to it on the other hand isn't GPL.

So Apple is using the base engine and keeping it as open as needed, every little modification and screw change they do, they don't open up because they don't need to legal. The GPL doesn't cover that

Can't wait until my nexus 10 arrives. I want the nexus 4 but can't afford it at the moment. No lte for it did worry me until i realized that wireless data costs a fortune in Canada and i only have 500 a month, wifi most of the time so it wouldn't effect me much. The speed boost wouldn't effect my email and messaging program enough to care

Reminds me of Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast. The original version was free to play and was used to help sell it. Problem came up later with someone finding out a code for the Tiger Shark That would let you delete others characters in mid session. Needless to say, this killed online play and helped tank sales (they later repackaged it with extra modes and items and resold it with a fee to play online to help prevent against these problems again)

From what I understand, the problem isn't if the country is becoming socialist and if that's a bad thing but more that the county Is now less and less of a capitalist national and more of a crony capitalist nation.

And crony capitalism is nothing like capitalism and will kill a nation and everything the USA ever stood for.

While this will seem like an anti-Apple rant, you have to realize that from what i recall, Apple was the biggest pusher to make it illegal to jail break smartphones. And so its things like this you have to consider when you buy stuff. Not only are you buying a device that you say has the ideals you want to support, but the companies actions you support as well. Something to consider the next time you look at devices to buy.

Better then Apple polices that change on the drop of a hat.

"Your app is approved." fix a bug but change nothing of the real game "Your app is denied for violating our polices"

Isnt it wonderful when people compare arbitrary restrictive policies of two corporate entities and then declare that one is 'better' than the other???

While both are evil, I feel that clear rules are better then off/on rules. But yeah, its not good either way.

Well facts are facts looks up android audio latency problems for DAW software and then compare specs. It's lighter with a bigger screen and will support faster audio latency for DAW's. I'm pissed my nexus 7's Tegra underperforms along with bad latency. I would kill for nanostudio on android.

You guys should really see how over zealous you react. Who
Cares I'd you guys don't like apple, just ignore the posts instead of trolling. I'm simply just stating that it factually weighs less and has a reasonable price point considering apples butt tax.

Look I'm not buying a mini but i would like to see your nexus rom that runs NOVA or any other intensive title smoothly. Instead of generic "hardcore pc gamer apple hate rhetoric".

I like OSx, Linux and windows. Nothing is the best, by some handle things better than others and in this case the android platform doesn't give a fuck about music production and or handling the audio latency issue.

I know you guys don't care but its also cus my problems aren't your problems, so you naturally won't care

More its the fact I was right. You aren't running stock and so your having problems. This is what I said, your making up problems or have a bad ROM.

Once you said you had overclocked it I knew something was wrong. Many of these devices don't like being overclocked and have problems when you do. You also said that the iPad is faster, your literally the first person/review that has said this since all the spec's say the exact opposite.

You also say there are zero music apps on Android.

My Piano
DJ Studio 3
DJ Control

But please insist that there are none and that by putting on a possible unstable mod that you refuse to show (you even got called on that part) that the stock ROM is bad, and that we are trolling you...

Removed to prevent offending to Muslim gamers?

Your censoring/removing all existence/mentioning of a religion, I feel this is the most offensive part.

"You acknowledge a religion" "Oh sorry, we will remove all existence of it so people won't ever see that it exists, that will help the religions followers feel like that aren't being offended"
