Now there's the kind of enthusiasm that can make me interested in a console port. If it works well in 3D, I'm surely going to support them.

I don't see what's wrong with the tech. I love my VG278h to death, and to me, 2d is over. The only possible improvements would be 240hz so I could play at 120fps, true 0ms response time so there would never be any crosstalk, and of course, I wouldn't mind glass-less, but that's not a bother at all, you forget you have the glasses on quickly. These issues will all be resolved in time.

I'm a big blu-ray fan but the guy has a point, where the hell are the Before Sunrise and Before Sunset blu-rays. Should have been out for a while by now.
I guess I can see the blu-ray experience being not quite as good with a TV and standalone blu-ray player. On PC though it's miles above any rip you can find (other that a straight, 25gb+ BD rip which can be good) |

I would have been interested in getting to like this game (even if it's only Tribes in name) if it worked in 3d. As it stands I'm quickly losing interest in supporting developers who desperately cling on to last millenia's tech and try to force it onto everyone.

so how do you guys manage to like this game? I assume you never played the first? there's no sense of momentum, terminal velocity is way too slow, and the maps are practically flatland... looks like t:v all over again to me...

I tried this beta. I spawned on, in Tribes terms, flatland. I saw some mountains in the distance where I could potentially have some satisfying skiing. a hard-wall barrier blocked the way. not sure I'll be looking back at this.

By now I really wonder why this... organization?, still exists, they have never done anything noteworthy, nor received any support from the pc gaming community... on the contrary, we demand they they kick out Epic from the group because it makes the whole thing seem like no less than a joke.

here's a partial list of class B and above bugs currently present in the game:
Clutch and brake act as a digital switch, no auto-centering on most ffb wheels, can't remap shifter buttons or gps on x360 pad, can't zoom in or out of map with x360 pad triggers, severe distortion in the mirrors of several cars, the in-game vsync and AA cause abnormal performance drop as well as stuttering, the game messes up the windows 7 volume mixer every launch, online mode reduces performance up to 33%, saved games are getting corrupted left and right and there's apparently a bugged, game breaking car at one of the dealers.
Then there's the missing/cut out features like custom radio, trackIR, seat adjustment, car weight, and what they added is either completely worthless, like all the clothing, plastic surgery and such, even an 8 year old girl will get no more than 5 minutes of fun out of that, or barely works at all, like the casino that people can't connect to half the time, and when it works it robs you of your ingame money or your prizes disappear.
This is a complete mess and there is no chance that you played TDU1 at launch if you think it was half as disastrous as this. Honestly I think Eden have much more important things to code in their attempt at a game before even considering looking at the servers.
And I have to add something: you can open and close your car windows, but there's still no wipers! this is totally unacceptable especially the second time, anyone who played TDU knows that the in-car view was in desperate need of a way to clean the windshield, and only absolute incompetence could possibly justify the decision of having working windows but no wipers.

yep, the whole thing's fubar, can't remap half the buttons on xbox360 pad, no ffb at all on any thrustmaster wheel, many logitechs also having problems, performance is dismal, save games are getting deleted, car mirrors are distorted, no apparent cf/sli support, several people have trouble getting online. fantastic launch.

you mean Homeworld? I thought they just lost the IP rights to this franchise in the whole Sierra affair. In any case though, I would accept to play no other games for the next 5 years if it meant that I could get a Homeworld 3.

it was first person on foot and third person on the hoverboard and in vehicles just like on PC, but indeed it was slowed down, not 20%, but either 5 or 10%, I think it was 10. no other way around it; while the game had its flaws it was just about as fast and hectic as the first.

I think they should take a year off with the PC release and see to their coding and programming issues. when you have to release statements like "the pc isn't powerful enough to have the console version of FIFA" it's time to let your devs go outside for a while.
