Yes. Not sure if you've already done so, but it's possible to visit http://store.steampowered.com/ using your choice of browser and tab at will.

Yup, and when I am browsing for multiple titles, I'll do it on the web front end, but the idea of the steam client is to be a one stop shop. It's part of what made it more convenient in the first place way back when.

Used to be fine when we weren't getting a couple of hundred releases every couple of weeks. But it's not up to snuff anymore.

If you ignored the shortness and absurd hand holding of the first game* it was actually quite a bit of fun with some fairly punchy moments. Hiding in the corpse pits to evade capture was one of the high (high low?) notes.

*Literally... One mission where if you stand between the guy in front of you and the guy behind, you'll never get busted sneaking around a survivalist compound. But move out of line by more than a few feet and you insta fail that part of the mission.

I could see a Red Faction Guerilla style game built around the theme.

DI was at it's best when you co-op'd it. The storyline is weak, the voice acting atrocious. Given the first trailer (the little girl + dad one), I was expecting some sort of emotional, hard hitting storyline.

In regards to Spec Ops, I kinda agree that it would have been nice to have the choice (although *spoiler* the bit where you can open fire on the crowd of people does give you the option to shoot in the air instead to scare them off rather than just open fire on the crowd), but the problem is that the narrative is that of a novel and you just happen to be driving the protagonist. *spoiler* The whole Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness vibe wouldn't work if you could dig yourself out of the pit your character slowly slides in to. Your character is losing the plot and isn't acting rationally, and you the player are dragged along as a helpless witness. Using the WP is the most obvious cue that you are the bad guy, but by the end of the game there is no doubt.

The storytelling of SO:TL is so directed because the conclusion is a pinpoint in terms of morality. If you miss that target by virtue of choices along the way, the whole thing ceases to function as a work.

"Only users who Like this page are eligible to enter."

So, you're basically holding beta keys hostage in order to force people into liking your page, even if they really don't? That is so lame.

It's give and take. After it's all said and done, you can just unlike.

Absolutely - I just don't like companies doing shady things like this. Why not offer the beta key with no stipulations, and simply ask that users like their page instead afterwards? I'd be more inclined to do so than I would by making it a requirement. Meh.

companies get a lot of money with Facebook likes. this is very smart of them, because a lot of ppl are lazy and don't bother to unlike them afterwards.

Also great "free" advertising. Someone likes, shows up on their wall, friends decide to try it out etc etc.

Fortunately (from my experience thus far), Wildstar is a bunch of fun. The one big problem is that the graphics are still a little below par in terms of optimisation, and the UI is still a bit painful, but both of those things are being worked on.

I want a "remove all greenlight titles from your lists" button, or at the very least, better searching/browsing options. It's hard to find good games anymore and while most of these titles are pretty cheap, I just don't have the free time to trial and error looking for something actually worth playing...

"Good port, I want a good port, blah blah blah." No, you don't. You want an action-RPG just like Dark Souls, that was designed for keyboard and mouse instead.

With the 7 meg patch that came down last night, it addresses the sensitivity problem + the keybinds not sticking + missing functionality like the jump key not working when rebound...

But you wouldn't know that because your playing on controller and have your foot firmly lodged in your mouth with your head stuck up your ass...

The company admitted there are serious problems with the implementation and have moved to address it. That should probably put an end to your ridiculous rants.

Incidentally, 3rd person games are entirely playable with M&KB if the controller scheme is well set up. If it's shit, then yes, it will be more difficult to play... Funny that..

P.S. Thanks for the blow-up, just shows everyone exactly the kind of person who's harboring this bizarre grudge against FROM for bringing a fantastic series to PC when they really didn't have to. I don't spend one errant moment worrying over how you play your games, but it is amusing how much offense you take when someone points out there might be a better way, one with more efficiency and utility in the right applications. On second thought, maybe you shouldn't get a gamepad, as it's a perfect missile when you fly off into a blind rage and it's bound to do some damage to whatever or whoever you hit with it...

Rofl. You load your posts with insults and snide slights then come a crying when someone tells you to go fuck yourself?

Grow up princess, you want to play Mr. Forum Tough Guy, don't whine when someone puts you in your place...

Yes RIAA is evil but the arguement that musicians are poverty-stricken is absolutely laughable.

I dunno Cutter, do you agree with the concept of "fair pay for fair work"?

While it's debatable that some of the bigger stars really do enough work to justify their income, many bands work incredibly hard, entertain millions of people, and never get close to what they are worth.

Glad to see that the rise of indie labels and the spread of knowledge of how to avoid those bastards has freed up bands to directly market their music (usually cheaper as well) directly to the customer. Win/win for everyone but the RIAA...

i'm fairly sure noone forced her to stick a toy plane up her hooha.

Are you rationalizing the the act because a woman did it, therefore all women are 'okay with it'?

And there's your problem...

You're taking away that woman's personal choice to implant a model plane in her vagina (Vagairliner is my contribution to the word play) because of how it might make other women feel... That the photo appeared on twitter by mistake or that some people find it offensive is irrelevant, it was not published expressly to make fun of women ergo it is not misogynistic.

I just love the innate hypocrisy, btw, of a man determining what women can and can't do, and ruling on how offended they should be. My wife thought the pic and how it was put out there was hilarious. I'm pretty sure she doesn't give a fuck what you, or other women for that matter, think about that... =) Of course, being the sensitive mangina you are, I'm sure you'll respect her decision?

That's not a sentence, that's what he's facing.

People very, very, very rarely get 100% of what they're facing. It's much more common for them to get 0% of what they're facing.

Umm, you even read the article Beamer?

First paragraph:

Earlier this month, a Fresno man received what is believed to be the strongest sentence issued anywhere in the United States for firing a laser pointer at an aircraft—14 years in prison. His girlfriend was also convicted on similar charges, but she will not be sentenced until May 2014.

That is the sentence he received. He might get out on parole/good behaviour earlier, but atm he's going to jail for 14 years...

I believe they call it a "railgun", and this wonderful byplay from Mass Effect covers it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLpgxry542M

And I do tend to think a lot of these people criticising Roberts for being too ambitious are playing the same safe game that the retread market are. Don't venture in to deeper waters, play it safe, stay in the kiddie pool full of piss.

Maybe it'll be an Icarus, but there's a reason why it's piling up money like crazy. People want to see it fly. They are over the same crass retreads and they want something truly aspirational.

Actually, it is. God hand-crafted Earth. But a feeble human brain cannot comprehend that; cannot comprehend that of the mind (and power) of a God, thus you are only capable (and probably selfishly desiring to) believing that it is randomly generated.

God built this planet out of his love for us. It's all "the art of God", every inch of it.

God probably should have kickstarter'ed his build of the earth, the stretch goal of "working on human AI so they don't eat the apple" should have been in the original build (ps. Intelligent design my ass. Putting 2 naked idiots in charge of the future of billions of humans knowing they'd make the wrong choice reeks of rank stupidity and negligence to me...)

As for everyone complaining about SC & 41 million, have you bothered to look at TESO lately? What a fucking trainwreck, and it costs significantly more, right? You may well all be right but the popularity of the KS/ongoing effort shows that there is a desire for this game. People who grew up playing Wing Commander etc are now adults with disposable income, surprise surprise, tapping in to that market yields dividends...

I use a Steelseries Siberia V2 headset with glasses and swear by them. you can't go wrong. or i know that Corsair over the ear headsets have pretty big soft padding, so you can go with one of those if u want.

The Corsair Vengeance headset is very comfortable (not a glasses wearer so can't comment on that) and has excellent sound/mic, but the longevity is shocking. All plastic construction along the pins that hold the cups to the headband = major point of weakness. My ones are currently held together by a collection of tape/zip ties after my son decided to try and put them on and managed to break one side comprehensively (mind you, that is after 2 warranty returns for random breaks during regular usage, at least Corsair has a solid warranty). They are also soundcard on board USB (so no sound card required).

Won't buy them again...

I think you guys are exaggerating a bit when calling Steam "unusable." Sure, there are more releases now but it takes all of 5 seconds to look at each one. Check the new releases, click on titles that seem interesting, glance at a few screenshots, read the descriptions if you're still interested, done. It's a negligible investment of time and effort.

As for BoneTown, apparently the censored, non-XXX version was greenlit.

I would define it the same way I'd define a toilet seat with some shit , a bloody needle and a used condom on it. Sure, it's still usable, but who the fuck wants to go to all that hassle..? =)
