How about some Texas in your water?
Ironically this would mean that you want more fluoride in your water

Texas teeth a phenomena observed by a dentist that Texans has brown stained teeth but had far less cavities. This lead to discovering fluoride cause the discoloration as well as cavity prevention.

In places like Texas, the fluoridation of water is REMOVING it because it contains so much, so it’s removed to lower levels to provide the dental benefits but prevents discoloration

It will only take one high profile exploit or user compromise for him to realize the utter failure this will be. Also any blockchain that has to do any volume close to what Steam does would collapse under its own weight. These systems don’t scale. In fact the blockchain is pretty much designed to NOT scale. The computing requires is exponential compared to the increased load.

Note Steam chooses to not restore items. Not that it cannot. And has in rare occasions reversed things if it was due to something egregious. With a blockchain you DO NOT have this option. Your programmers screw up one thing and someone tanks the value of that $10k item by flooding the market, you cannot fix that.

These are armchair devs that know nothing about gamedev thinking they’ve “solved” some kind of problem as if he’s the only person in existence to have thought of this

Valve was smart to ban blockchain and NFT products. Although this blockchain/NFT game still appears to be available for wishlisting even though it's been reported, I'm glad the platform doesn't have them as a general rule.

Note most crypto games get around Valve's ban by disallowing any crypto transactions on steam directly. Aka you cannot, through the game itself or via any in-game way, purchase crypto

HOWEVER

You can still basically fund your crypto purchase externally via their website.

The only sort of functional difference is that you cant use steam wallet to buy crypto, and its slightly less conveneint to get since you have to go outside of the game to make crypto purchases

As a backer I got an e-mail last night. They are offering us a "limited vehicle concept pledge" with 10 years insurance. The vehicle in question is the Anvil Legionnaire starting at a dirt cheap price of €108.29. The more juicy "ILW" variant is €129.95 and there are two Anvil swarm packs: One pack for losers that is only €270.73 and a pack for real men which is €303.21.

Such a tempting offer. I'm having a really hard time which one to choose so I can keep waiting another ten fucking years for anything with a sense of persistence.

By the time the game comes out you'll have burned through 20 years worth of insurance already

They need to play Independence War 2. It has the best Newtonian flight model I have ever experienced while still being fun and approachable. You can either toggle full Newtonian flight or automatic RCS control which would give it a more "arcade" feel for those that want it.

They can't do that because this is 'supposedly' and MMO or whatever Chris has decided to call this train wreck. You can't have one set of people be on 'arcade' while the other half are in 'mega space sim mode'. Everyone has to be on the same flight model. The problem is Chris can't actually decide if he's making Wing Commander, trying ot redo Privateer, or trying to make EVE Online. He makes his team make all these different modes that all clash with eachother. He can't even get a single player version of SQ42 out the door because of the idiotic insistence of 'everything being on teh same code base' despite the fact that they have no 'code base' to start off of because Chris keeps changing his mind about what ever the hell they're making this week.

I tried given Star Citizen a shot earlier in the week. I really, really did.

My machine specs:
3700X
6900XT
64GB ECC DDR4-3200
980 Pro 2TB NVMe

While the experience was better than the last time I played, it was still a bit choppy and janky. After I finally found my ship, when I went to take off, it jammed its nose in to the corner of a hangar at a diagonal and would not move beyond that to save its life or my interest. Not slagging on Elite: Dangerous but when it has a more responsive flight control system than you, you have a serious problem.

-10/10. Would not recommend.

SC has changed their flight model at least a half dozen times now and it progressively gets worse. They ping pong between 'arcade' to 'full space sim' and can't seem to decide what they want to do.

The issue is more that their net code is so bad they cant have enough people on a shard before the server itself bursts into flames.

Like they sold these giant ships that have a crew of a dozen people, yet 2 of those ships (if the actually existed) fully manned in the same area, would basically crash the game right now

Its hilarous they still can't make a FPS shooter from an engine that's only job is literally doing FPS shooters

When was SQ42 supposed to come out. Well i mean when did they stop changing the date and just literally give up on telling anyone dates at all

Its kind of weird because the game doesn't even have online play. So its not like there are servers shutting down. You could easily just keep selling the game without issue

My thought is that they're probably paying a yearly licensing cost for the property name. And the salse of the the game are not enough to cover the license cost anymore so they have to deslist it for that reason

https://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/washington/wawdce/2:2016cv01941/240392/123

Full case history here but sort of broadly

1) 2017 case was brought forth
2) 2018 case sent to arbitration
3) arbitration basically destroyed the case
4) 2019 appeal of arbitration
5) half of the counts are dismissed with prejudice by judge (cannot refile)
6) today the rest of the counts are dismissed with prejudice
7) this kills the class action status of the case as well

To be honest thank god

Killer network drivers are only good at 'killing' games and the networking stack. It's such a terribly written driver I'm shocked anyone was ever tricked into using their shlock. I've had to fix more problems with these drivers than any imaginary benefits their terribly implemented QOS garbage ever did

In the year of 2021 how hard is it to produce and release a single player space combat game? We even had an actual Xwing vs Tie Fighter game in the form of SW: Squadrons, which I admit was pretty lackluster but it actually happened. It was a thing. When do we get our single player game starring Mark Hammill, Gary Oldman and who knows who the fuck else?

I mean its hard when you choose an ancient FPS engine that was never designed to be an MMO or a space combat engine.

It also doesn't help when your creative director/producer is an absolute tool

I don't see what makes this announcement any special. Playing within their app should be the same experience as playing through their browser on Windows, video streams in the same way and transmits your controller input, unless it does it with lower latency

From the perspective of retention or branding, it makes sense for your users to access your service all in the same way. So you say "download the xbox app" that's the same (in theory) for android and windows (not iOS but it could be). The idea being you can funnel users into a single app, an app they associate with your service, and provide a consistent UI and feeling across them. People think of apps in a very different way than they think of websites.

Once again Microsoft's stupidity amazes me. Why on earth would anyone with an xbox and an xbox game pass ultimate, want to an inferior experience, i.e. cloud gaming when they already have a superior alternative, playing native on an Xbox?

So they can get a few frags in from their desk at can at work?

Or is this just plain old lets sell it to the whales first?

Also notice that onlike other cloud gaming services, mobile is not supported.

Because not everyone has a gaming pc? Hell im going on vacation in a few days and I can continue my Yakuza Like A Dragon playthough, from my windows PC, on xcloud on my surface pro. I certainly could not run Yakuza Like A Dragon on this laptop no matter how many options I turned down in the settings.

I think people miss the point that for MS xcloud is a supplementary benefit service. Unlike say Stadia which is purely cloud based only. For many yes console and PC are going to be primary systems. But the side benefit of being able to play AAA games on severely underpowered devices is appealing if again, you're already invested in Xbox Ultimate anyway

Also yes it does work on mobile. There's already an Android app and on iOS it works via a browser.

Having the app means you don't need the overhead of running a full browser. since people using cloud gaming probably have lower spec systems, the less overhead the better for them

You dont have to install the game on steam to do anything

As long as you have your ioi account and steam account linked its basically just going to that website and clicking a button. if its in your steam library the migration website will detect it.
