EA Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore thought he was being super savvy by shifting the blame around in his response. But all he does is sound awkward and clueless.

It amuses me that I am "defending" kinect because I heartily agree that the first gen kinect was lame for actual gaming
However, a dedicated CPU means no more annoying half-second delay. And that opens up lots of creative possibilities for hands-free gaming. In contract, what does the ps4 offer that is novel or different from others? At this time, nothing other than a promise from sony execs that it will be "awesome."
Not to be negative but, geez, the launch price for the ps3 was a jaw-dropping $799 in 2007. And remember what Sony did with the Vita and the $100 special memory cards? I would assume nothing until the prices are actually listed in retail settings.
My strong hunch is that MS will undercut launch price (because MS has the cash to do things like that) and SONY will gouge prices because they cannot at all afford to undercut. SONY is reeling from 4 years of substantial financial problems, and broad job cuts:

I am steering clear of consoles this time around but "kinect 2" is interesting tech. The only thing holding first gen kinect was RAM and dedicated processing. And the dev kit is open source. |

Quite literally anyone in RI govt who made decisions (appointed or elected) are not holding those offices anymore and they arent giving interviews. So yes that is bogus and infuriating.
On the other hand, Schilling was gambling bigtime with losses imminent, he knew it, and I am fine with him taking an expensive soaking. |

The R.I. Economic Development Corp. had no idea what they were doing when the deal was formed, or worse, they did know, but profited from the deal.
The only real losers here are the RI taxpayers. |

ID should have known better than to create an engine that wouldnt work well on current gen consoles. That was a big mistake. Bottomline: No one still to this day wants that engine. |

the only console emulators that actually work **well** are for ancient consoles: GBA, Genesis, etc. For games that are largely no longer available in any format, and are not being sold retail.
That can all change in the future but right now, emulation is not destroying gaming. |

Verno is right: if this is anything like The Sims, there will be DLC for SimCity for at least 15 months.
EA will Milk the cow, even if it is a wonky broken cow. |
