not turn based though, so not sure it will be any different that other shooters with 'lite RPG' elements. Wait and see I guess.

Starbreeze

Much of the artwork in 'Enclave' and then their later well known game 'Riddick' was really really great.

Shame to put such a nice-looking PC game on console -- Let's get ready for blurry bitmaps and texture pop-in.

I am playing Bioshock 2 on 360 right now and some of the textures on large environment objects are just a big blur of 2 or 3 similar colors. You have to try not looking at these things or it will take you right out of the game.

Apparently, the sony incident is currently the largest scale security breach in history.

Loved UU1 when released but the game I would want to buy and actually play _again_ would be sys shock 2.

Sys shock 1 was great too and seems not to get much love these days.

You have to admit, the Da2 demo was a giant red alert not to buy the game.

it is surprising DRM was removed so very quickly after release, so I _do_ suspect they sat around a table and said it is easier to remove the DRM than solve the long load times for the DRM version of the game. To call the game makers inept though, is pretty rough -- cant agree there.

that game's metacritic score was bought and paid for. People didn't hate it for not being Baldur's Gate or not being enough like The Witcher.

Really agree: I was alarmed at the "major critic" reviews of DA2. All of them seemed to have played a a different game than I did. And the reader reviews for the same game are quite low. The binary disparity between player and critic is difficult to ignore. Something is not right with the critics and that particular game.

I was warned that the game was too easy so I upped the difficulty level. Even then though -- too easy. It is a very well designed game in several ways, but over all it is a B grade game.

The pet that could fight or be sent to town to sell your stuff was a nice touch.

22. Re: Obsidian Not Making Alpha Protocol 2, But it Would Be Better May 24, 2011, 08:27 avianflu

The biggest constant issue with the combat is that ALL of the enemies would regularly leave cover and run right at you once you were spotted, making them easy pickings with a machine gun and a grenade. Didnt matter which area, the AI always always did this.

as long as it is not super short, I'll be happy with a re-tread of those old Dark Alliance games.

I rarely get annoyed with crappy articles from anywhere, but that "editorial" from IGN about how DA2 is actually a great game is blood-boiling.

The writer is talking out of both sides of his mouth in virtually every sentence.

A+ story and dialog interface. Choices actually mattered.

D- combat and stealth. Just wretched.

Thing is though,I really, really enjoyed the story part of the game so I cant hate the game.

Sorry but it is completely reasonable for SONY to have known that the stolen information could easily be used to hijack existing accounts thru the "password recovery" system. Completely dunderheaded of SONY.

ME 2 was a guilty pleasure: the combat was still wonky as ever and the "choices" we get to make are far too black and white, but I enjoyed the bizarre characters and the sci-fi story line

HDMI cables -- the underlying issue is that lots of folks are still using first gen HDMI cables that do not work well on current gen TV's. Consumers will think their new TV sucks when actually it is the old cable they used from their old HDTV....

Yes its a softcap _now_ while the ISP's are figuring if the typical consumer will be OK with data limits. Testing the waters for new revenue sources. The underlying desire is making consumers pay for every megabyte used on a home ISP, like how we currently pay for electricity and gas.

In less than 2 years the cost of everything related to "digital content in the home" will go up up up up -- and that includes streaming. The market wants to do this and they will do it.
