old thread I know but I gotta say it:
there's a huge difference between a 2 million award from the court for a super-failed game for breach on contract (that's fine) but a 32 mill award for a super failed game? Geez. He *helped to create the failed game* and then it failed -- He does not deserve 28 mill for any of that. |

| the gameplay vids are *great* though I still remember the hollow shell that was Oblivion. Those cookie-cutter dungeons and the uber-glowy effects on absolutely every single object in the game. Hoping for the best. |

I giantly agree with Verno:
It was no secret that Netflix is being squeezed for buckets of $$ from both sides (ISP's and digital content owners) so Netflix's cost increases to consumers shouldn't be a shock to anyone following the whole netflix story.
The larger problem for consumers is that ripoff cable TV companies are rubbing their hands with glee because Netflix is stumbling so poorly. Netflix was the only real competition they had.
And you can be sure Amazon is watching all of this carefully because the failure of Netflix could cast a shadow over what Amazon wants to accomplish with the Amazon Kindle Fire (i.e. streaming vids with Amazon Prime).

| it wouldn't surprise me if Rage is the last we see of ID as a company, at least in its current formulation. It still needs to sell games or engines to survive, and it isnt doing either. |

the last version of Heroes V has the DRM removed, all of the races were playable and a custom map maker and all for 20 bucks. Best bargain out there
So far, VI is great, though it is more like V than III, which is sure to annoy some. |

well your crack better work with the zero day patch to 1.1 because you'll want that patch. It wouldnt surprise me if that zero day patch was intentional by the game publisher to frustrate the hackers. The crack scene isnt what it was 5-7 years ago.
You may never see a working crack of a later patched exe unless that game is a blockbuster. The publishers know that.
You can always wait for the inevitable "gold edition" release a year from now with no DRM and all of the bonuses included in the box.

Dirwulf, no, that's not really the case when you say "no custom heroes." It sounds like you havent actually used the beta?
I can load a saved game and use my heroes as before: however offline I just wont access to a couple of perks (like a spell, etc) that frankly don't matter much in actually playing the game. If anything the perks are mild cheats to playing the game. Dont need them.
I wish the game didnt have this online component at all, but it didnt affect my amusement with the game and I happily played it offline.
The doohickies you get the "deluxe" edition are the usual non-essential doohickies.
The core game is hugely like Heroes V: if you liked Heroes V you'll like this game.
If you liked Heroes III, you might be disappointed.

| 'Row over photo in shopping centre' -- pretty disconcerting story actually. Someone was very very stupid working behind that icecream counter. |

Deus Ex: Human Revolution review: "Map design seems overly cramped and under diversified." Have to agree there.
The first game let you walk up to a big building that was entirely one giant level unto itself. Missed that this time around. |

| loved these games: I was occasionally flummoxed by the lack of money to buy troops. I realize that is part of the strategy (to preserve your troops because money is intentionally limited), but it got me in trouble early on in armored princess. |

Muzyka is trying to be a good PR person for his own company and spin things after the crappy DA2.
But he totally fumbled the spin. |

I was one of the few people who didnt enjoy demons souls. brutally unforgiving. And I dont have enough spare time to replay the same levels over and over again. I DO see the appeal of the game though, but not for me. |
