it looks great -- but I am wary of lots of $$ DLC crap immediately after release. there seems to be no mention of DLC one way or the other as far as I can tell.

Mattrick seems to be excellent playing both sides at the same time for personal benefit. That is his superpower.

To rockstar -- Please no more dragging characters to bowling alleys and comedy clubs? And a better ducking and covering mechanic that wasn't twitchy? thanks!

Home 3D was a shameless attempt to sell more TV's after everyone had already bought HDTV's.

That is a very confused article. It is arguing from an author's standpoint I get that. But then the logic is all over the place.

The bottomline is that Amazon is testing the waters to see if higher book prices on digital books will "sell" or not. Amazon at the same time is not as frequently or broadly "specially discounting" books these days, which is possibly the more important change versus a few years ago.

if indeed she was the designer of the ribbon UI with the vague icons that could mean anything?

I do not like her.

in the email I rec'd from UBI, they dont outright say that Uplay was not breached, so I wouldnt assume anything about that.

loved the PS2 but the shimmering effect on textures in virtually every game was terrible.

well, Creston it is not completely impossible to travel internationally without a passport. Some countries dont care about the USA's Rule of Law and do what they want. Snowden is counting on that to happen.

I dont buy the frequently-seen argument that Snowden is a fame-monger.

Naive perhaps, but opportunists dont put their life in certain danger, which he most certainly did.

Since he had his new job lined up before E3, you have to wonder if his douchy anti-consumer comments at E3 are at least partly because he didnt really care about his role with the XBOX anymore.

if you dont already have borderlands 2, the 22 buck deal including the DLC is definitely a deal.

Beamer, games so rapidly discount this days that the MSRP is not an accurate representation of what games actually cost for the consumer today. And it is the MSRP what the article uses as the comparative "price" of games. I could have been more clear on that point perhaps.

Actually the comments on the AT web page successfully spell out why the conclusions made in the article are bogus. It was a not particularly well-received article.

As someone who bought a PS3 I have mixed feelings about someone saying this now and upon the release of the next iteration of the product.

Interesting presentation, but conveniently timed PR too.

I normally like ars technica articles but that one's conclusions were utterly bogus.

Games are cheaper these days because games sales are way down across the board, and have been for 5 years. Prices discount fast to keep the units selling in a recessionary marketplace.

I am sure MMO's thought free-to-play was their salvation, but it really signaled their deathknell.

Most people will get bored of a carrot on a stick. Not all, but most.
