I am going back to being a lurker on bluesnews but before signing off I do really want to thank "Blue" for his years of work and his website. Hope he sees this.

The annoying thing about RS games is that it takes quite a while before they discount. Which is fine -- it is the market at work.

These AC games are so painfully similar to each other. Shameless really.

It is a darned shame that both new consoles arent more hardware kickass.

This may be the first time that I dont bother with a console, which is saying something.

Yipes that was pointless. I will always regard PB fondly with Gothic 2 and the Raven add-on.

There arent a whole lot of games in the pipeline for the 3ds, which says just about everything.

I get why devs like "early access." Money for something not yet completed. All of the rest of the concept of Early Access is filled with holes.

Skyrim holds up fairly well, even in its unmodded vanilla form. I wouldnt have said that about Oblivion.

Carmack better be truly integral to Oculus' future development after this expensive kerfluffle. Otherwise Carmack looks like an albatross.

I dearly wish they hadn't bothered making the MMO (which will fail sadly) and got on with a new single player game.

The first one was brilliant and a good 20 hours long. The villains were hilarious. The later games were a bit dodgy though.

That's sorta my point! Since there isnt a killer game to draw consumers in to either new console, I greatly suspect it is the 100 bucks less that is driving many consumers to the ps4. Cannot blame them for that choice either.

It is a genuinely deep shame that both companies went for relatively low specs on the new hardware, versus a nothing special $160 retail PC GPU. It isnt a popular comment to make here, but I suspect we are looking at a console race of micrometers.

whoa, the lighting engine for Dark Souls. Not a deal-breaker but what were they thinking? It is a game that centrally capitalizes on darkness so it stands out that lighting is basically a static glow ball that hovers around the player. Metro or Witcher, etc, light years better.

Neither new console has a killer game.

Remember GTA3 for PS2 and Halo for XBOX? Those were killer games that make consumers in droves open their wallets. Sony and MS execs would kill their mothers for titles that generate that broad consumer interest level.

The 2 new consoles are in the same longer-term situation if you take 2 steps back, except notably one costs 100 bucks more than the other.

It doesnt help matters that SONY has little liquidity and its stocks are at junk status.

a good point D.

This list would be a lot more useful if it wasn't littered with F2P titles (DOTA2/TF2/Warframe) that definitely should not count as "owned" especially if you've NEVER ran the game before... or games that valve has given away for free (like L4D2).

Oh Ars, how ye continually disappoints.

That % isnt at all surprising since Steam regularly sells large game collections for 5-15 bucks where I wanted only one of the games in the collection.

case in point -- Last month I finally bought all of DA:Origins just to play "awakenings" -- the other games in the series will be left unplayed.
