This will be the fourth attempt.

Maybe we need to start a form of "game club" (like a book club) where we all pledge to play X amount a week.

Awesome. Every week a member picks the game that everyone else has to spend "X" amount of time playing. Each week the "chooser" rotates to the next member in the rotation. I would totally join that club.

My first choice would be Freedom Force. Not nearly enough people played that game.

Having lived in both cities (areas) for extended periods of time...the concept that someone from LA would refer to SF as a "clusterfuck" is hilarious.

Yeah, commuting is a bitch in the Bay Area but LA is the worst area in the country in that regard. I would think going just about anywhere, other then perhaps Mexico City, would feel like a dramatic improvement for a LA native.

I WANT to like the first one...but I've tried to get into it three or four times and just lose interest. Everyone says "you gotta stick with it" but there's something wrong with the story and/or game if I am struggling to maintain interest a few hours in.

I'm the same way, but I'm going to give it another go. And yeah, I see that comment everywhere as well ("Stick with it! It gets better!").

Same boat. My problem is the UI and combat controls. I dislike them to the point of distraction. There can be no doubt about the quality of just about every other aspect of the first Witcher, but I find those two particular aspects very annoying. As a consequence I have not played the second game for fear of spoiling aspects of the first game's story.

The way so many of my friends literally squee all over themselves when talking about the games....I find myself really wanting to like it, and every so often I load it up and give it another go. This will be the fourth attempt.

My wife makes banana oatmeal pancakes and the kids really love them. My 7 year old can eat 3 (small ones) at a sitting and would probably ask for more if she thought she could get them. I just eat one, no butter or syrup, rolled up with a cup of strong coffee. Now that's a good breakfast.

No Hobbit jam?

I think the combat style would work well with a keyboard and mouse. I played it through on PS3 with my step-daughter and both of us thought it was fun except that we both found ourselves feeling like we were fighting the gamepad to control the game.

Yeah, there really isn't much left on cable TV unless you are a sports fan. Everything else can be reliably obtained on a regular schedule through the web. Sports are getting there. Soon I won't need my DTV to watch live basketball and football games any longer. Looking forward to that day.
So, where can we watch the latest episodes of MythBusters, The Walking Dead, etc. from the web legally?

The Walking Dead is on Netflix is it not? You can also get it through iTunes. Mythbusters...which stopped being all that good a long time ago by the way...you can buy a season at a time or go though the website, iTunes, PSN if you have a PS3, etc. Even if you pay 2-3 dollars per episode for all of your favorite shows because you HAVE to see them as soon as they come out, I bet it would still be cheaper then the average cable TV bill at the end of the month, which I think is somewhere between 75 and 100 bucks.

My wife and I watch 5 weekly shows in addition to our favorite sports. Four weeks in a month, so 20 episodes a month. Every one of our shows can be obtained on the internet through Hulu, Amazon Prime, or iTunes for 2-3 bucks an episode. 20x2 = 40 or 20x3 = 60 bucks dollars. If you make it a Hulu Plus account that adds 8 bucks, Amazon Prime is costing us 40 bucks a year. Overall, much cheaper then cable or DTV.

Without sports as a factor, the decision would have been made quite a bit simpler a long time ago. The biggest issue really is that you have to go searching for stuff, plan ahead, etc. Cable and DTV is easier and more convenient...and that is what you really pay for. Like Frags4Fun said, my wife plays a big role in why we still use DTV. She doesn't want to have to track stuff down. She likes the convenience of the DVR and the ease of use with regards to the on-screen guide and remote control.

There is a lot of TERA to like. There is a lot of TERA to dislike. Very polarizing game. I personally really like the combat style and crafting system, so the gameplay makes the game fun for me. The things that other people dislike are legitimate gripes though. This game has a lot of absurdity that some folks can't get past...and it has an equal amount of unfulfilled potential. Sadly.

And what magic crystal ball is showing you

wouldnt you like to know?

but anyways, havent you ever heard of "market saturation"?

look it up sometime

If there was such thing as market saturation with zombies....it would have happened a long time ago. They seem to simply go from popular to ridiculously popular and then back again. Books, movies, tv, games...all of it. Same with vampires, anti-hero cops, etc etc. Some things only go "so far" out of style.

If the game is good and they release during a smart time of year the game will sell just fine. If this was a game about killer bell-bottom jeans and giant head eating cans of hairspray, then perhaps they would have to worry about missing a popularity window of some sort.

Zombie game or not, I think survival games are only starting to carve out their niche in the gaming market. I am not a fan personally, but it sure seems like a lot of people like the gameplay style. It continues to astonish me the amount of "cold weather realism" mods for Skyrim, as an example. I personally don't see the fun in having to worry about death by hypothermia, but going by downloads and endorsements on Nexus it sure seems like there are plenty of people who really dig that element being added to gameplay. Zombies or not.

Wife and I did something rare yesterday - went to a movie. Was a nice 12:50pm movie - only people in the theater. We saw Gangster Squad. We both enjoyed it, then had a really nice early supper at a local restaurant.

My wife and I only do matinees, but then again the cinema we go to is a local small business type that has a full restaurant and bar that can serve food and beer before and during the movie. You can sit on couches, recliners, or at dining room type tables as well as seating that resembles typical cinema fair. We really dig the place but it is really popular on the weekends and evenings so matinees make the most sense. Glad to hear Gangster Squad was good, we have been considering going to seeing it.

Sega publishes the Total War games and they also published Universe at War, they are no stranger to RTS games.

There's also the fact that they secured the rights to Warhammer Fantasy Battle not too long ago while Relic still had the rights to Warhammer 40k. So...

Total War: Warhammer 40k? YES PLEASE!!!

Next, from Sega...

Total Warhammer: Fantasy Universe 40k

Okay Darks...I have to ask...

Is it just that you are a huge fan of Alien everything or is there some bigger reason you keep jumping in to defend this game every time a a comments section goes negative about it?

Not being snarky...just asking.
