Does anyone know if this will go retail, or is going to just digital distribution?

Get many stupid calls every night. Most medicals are just a $3,000 taxi ride to the mpls hospital. Last week we got a call for "one with tooth pain".

Absurd! They need to start fining people that use 911 for anything outside of what is defined as an emergency, but then again how do you enforce common sense?

I couldn't help but imagine seeing a bunch of dorks throughout an airport waiting to board their plane while wearing their ORs playing a video game via their mobile devices.

On a serious note, I don't know of any mobile games that would be worth playing on ORs; however, if this proves successful, more developers 'may' adopt the idea.

It is an admirable move, but I too can not see it lasting. I can't help but think there is some loophole or disclaimer somewhere that has not been divulged yet. Sorry to be so skeptical, but this is EA afterall……

I couldn't help it, this was the first thing that came to mind reading your post.

I love it that so many people here have such a possitive attitude toward Amnesia. I, too, found it the scariest game out there. When I describe the game to people, I always tend to start with "Playing that game wasn't like playing a game; it was preparing yourself mentally to survive the experience, and then holding your breath on the edge of your seat until you could take no more."

I'm looking forward to that same ritual again: Starting at night -- always at night! -- with lights out and headset on, reluctantly clicking that .exe in uncomfortable anticipation.

And now we have squeeling swine-men. *gnashing teeth* I hope I can keep my sanity...

LOL! Don't forget to put on your diapers.

I've been wondering if it will be as scary and as intense to play as TDD. But, from the couple videos I've watched, it looks pretty damn scary and intense..... Nervous

News Comments > Thief in February
17. Re: Thief in February Aug 16, 2013, 13:22 MajorD

I hope I am proved wrong, but the more time that has gone by, and the more I have seen throughout the development cycle, the less excited I have become; just as it was with Aliens: Colonial Marines with me, which unfortunately proved correct. Again, I just hope I am wrong.

Obviously I am a big fan of the originals (T1 & T2), as many others here are, but it seems like the developers are straying away too much from what made T1 & T2 so immersive, enjoyable, and successful. You can have better/updated graphics, etc., but that doesn't make the game better.

Bottom line is that it seems like they ran with their own artistic license (their prerogative of course) and could potentially be tainting the franchise.

I was just thinking about this game yesterday wondering when it would finally be released. At this point they should just spend more time polishing it and release it around Halloween.

Regardless, I am looking forward to it......

Thanks for heads-up on Trent's latest artistry nin. I've already downloaded from Amazon and listening to it as I type this post. His stuff typically takes a while to grow on me, but I’m pretty much liking this out the gate. Wink

I'll never forget reading an article on him in SPIN magazine years ago where the Interviewer asked him about the long span between music CD releases. He admitted and talked about how he discovered and started playing DOOM.

Was just raving yesterday with friends about the awesomeness that was Badger's Star Trek script in the new Breaking Bad.

Yeah, we finally got around to watching it last night, and I was thinking the same thing as to how well done/executed the Star Trek script was. The episode ended pretty intense too....

"We won’t be able to make everybody happy,” says Daniel Windfeld Schmidt.

What an F'ing copout jerk-off!!! And then I pretty much 2nd everything Fletch posted.

The more time goes on, the more I see/read bout the new Thief, then more disinterested I've become, which I am pretty much at zero interest now.

Thanks for ruining the franchise (Thief 1 & 2 - DS doesn't count) jerks!!! These F'ing Developers just won't learn and/or don't care, as long as they're making the console money......

hey,Hey,HEY, ease up there man!!! It looked like cell-shading to me, alright. WildOne & Creston have put me back in my place.

Two thumbs up for the thumbnails.

In regards to the moderating of the posts, I think you are definitely very lenient and forgiving in order to maintain the ‘freedom of expression’ as much as possible, but there are always people that are going to push/test the boundaries like children do.

I agree with the solution(s) BobBob and SpectralMeat posted, as that would be the best remedy; if there is a post that is pushing the boundaries, you (Blue) wouldn’t have to make that decision to remove it, or just leave it, it would be up to the majority vote of the other readers/posters.

That’s my 11 cents, not 10, but 11.

Who here has played the Alpha & Beta? I am curious how the engine (Real Virtuality 4) runs; is it more refined, or more of a resource hog than the ARMA 2 (Real Virtuality 3), or pretty much the same?

CommunistHamster wrote on Aug 8, 2013, 10:30:
The performance is only slightly worse than Arma 2, but the "feel" of Arma 3 is as much of an improvement over 2 as 2 was over the original Arma.

SpectralMeat wrote on Aug 8, 2013, 10:31:
I've played both Alpha and Beta and the new engine runs a lot smoother and looks a ton better then the old one.
However when you crank all the settings to the max it will make your system crawl.
It is also getting optimized and it seems every patch gets the game run better, while they are adding in new vehicles and weapons.
I think it will be an amazing game, best Arma yet.

Cool. Thanks for info. Gents.
