11. Re: PC Gaming Alliance plans March launch for certification program Dec 3, 2013, 12:45 MajorD

When I saw this post I thought to myself, "Wow, I didn't know these guys were still around."

If part of their certification program was to prevent PC games from becoming bastardized console ports, than I'm all for it.

There is one point in the conclusion that bears repeating for all, however: "Thank you so much for letting me share her with you."

Deadly Shadows is still the best. Two words, Shalebridge Cradle.

YACK! You have that backwards; Deadly Shadows was the worst one!

It was the worst of the 3 but it was still an absolutely amazing game. Shalebridge Cradle.. I don't think there was any game out there with a more frightening experience!

Deus Ex: Invisible War was horrible. Thief: Deadly Shadows was awesome and amazing.

Edit/Add: And to make that last part even more random... I miss Looking Glass Studios, Raven Studios and Sierra. There. I said it. Oh, and Kalypso too.

Agreed, it wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't as good as T1/TG & T2. Ahhh yes, I recall Shalebridge Cradle keeping me on edge. I too miss Looking Glass Studios, as there was so much talent in that studio that got washed away by Eidos......

I bought BF4 from Amazon for $24.99 from the BF sale, still haven't tried it yet... also waiting for a deal on Premium, but should be same or cheaper than I paid for the game.

WOW, that that is a smoken' price. Right now the PC-DVD version is $39.99 & FREE Shipping on Amazon, which is decent.

Amazon Prime Air. Working on drone deliveries.

Just crazy...

Quick Martha! Go git the scatter gun, thar be martians landin'!

Seriously though... with all the NSA spy crap going on... I wouldn't be surprised if some folks to some pot shots at those things.

Good point, as there are enough wackos in the world that would do that. Unless Amazon plans on mounting laser cannons on the drones.

Watching Homeland last night struck a memory of the 2010 release of Medal of Honor for some reason or another. I thought the campaign sucked on my initial play through, but someone here on Blue's News posted that the game is telling a story and you can't go into the game expecting a CoD type campaign. With that in mind, I started the game over and ended up liking it much more and played it all the way through. It wasn't the best game I ever played, but it was good. I may have to give it another play through sometime in the near future.

Is it looking through rose colored glasses of me to say that like Quakes effect on FPS, Thief was a huge influence (perhaps the biggest) on the stealth genre?

I couldn't agree more.

The LaserScope headset review was freaking hilarious, especially because of the way it was advertised on the box.

John Carmack, over hyped.

That is a knee-jerk ignorant comment. John Carmack essentially pioneered 3D/FPS gaming as we know it today, and was very adamant about sharing his code/technology for everyone to build uponÖand wow, look where FPS gaming is today. So, show some respect!

Iím excited to see his work and influence with Oculus Rift.

41. Re: RAGE Free Weekend Nov 22, 2013, 13:12 MajorD

I wanted to see/verify a few things in RAGE, so I went to fire it up and was prompted with an option to run an unsupported 64bit version. So I figured I would give it a whirl; the game launched, ran through the initial intro movie, and then the screen went black for a few minutes until it finally started the game. No difference; still ugly low res textures and pop-in textures.......There was hope, but I'm not surprised.

RAGE is a groundbreaking first-person shooter... Rotfl Rotfl Rotfl

...and jaw-dropping graphics powered by idís revolutionary id Techģ 5 technology Rotfl Rotfl Rotfl

...RAGE promises an experience like no other. Confused

WTF are they smoking???
