Apple isn't the only company guilty of this, but they seem to be the best at it. Everything Apple does is highly calculated to their benefit, and their benefit only.

Apple especially does it with iOS. Aside from slowing your phone down it's amazing how right at the like... 22 month mark your phone just takes a giant shit on you and starts running poorly. Like, you swipe to get to another page of icons and it is slow and glitchy. It takes minutes to boot apps that six months earlier were instantaneous. I can't type any more on my iPad 2 because there's like a 30 second delay (not hyperbole) now between my input and it showing up on the screen. Safari crashes on basic pages every 30 seconds.

Meanwhile, my Galaxy S6, aside from an anemic battery at this point, actually runs just as smooth, if not better, than when I bought it. The UX still scrolls smooth. Sure some of the newer stuff makes my phone chug, I expect that, but the basic navigation and typing and stuff is still smooth.

Yeah, my brother has an iPad 2 also, and he was complaining about similar issues. He said he wished he never upgraded to the latest OS because he has had problems with it ever since.

I don't really like survival games, but I absolutely loved this. I played it in Fall of 2015 when it was still early in early access, but it still ended up being one of my favorite games that year.

I've been sitting on it, waiting for the full retail release to play it again.

Me too. It's been difficult staying away but I really want to experience it fully complete. Same with Ghost of a Tale. These are two EA games I'm actually glad to support.

I can highly recommend 7 days to die.

When it is finally released.

Nah, I recommend it now. I would have recommended it 2 years ago also. The game has enough content to last you for hundreds of hours. The fact that it's still in EA and that they consistently release huge patches that basically warrant a full replay is a bonus.

Edit: But yeah, it shouldn't be in EA anymore.

Agreed, 7DTD is a great game that keeps getting better, with high replayability. I've been playing it since Alpha-5 with over 1,100 of my life lost in this game. However, it has become more grindy with each Alpha release/update via gated perks, skills, items, etc. The game comes with a random generated map option, so each playthrough the map is completely different/fresh.

The developers are very active with community, are continually releasing updates and improvements, and now they are working on updating to A17 release. It is one of the most, if not THEE, most interactive game out there.

Good, now I can play from start to finish. During EA, any time I would start a new game, I would come back to play more, after not playing for a while, and have to start a new game again due to another patch/update and the previous saved game would not be compatible with latest release.

I 'think' Valve did this with the Source Engine/Left 4 Dead/2. /shrug

Edit: Yeah, here it is. L4D/2/Source used what they called 'AI Director'.

Sorry EA, but nice try. AssClowns!

They left out a lot of the trendy words/saying:

2) Am I right?
3) Are you kidding me?
4) Super " "
5) Uber

Happy New Year all!

So, I picked up Escape from Tarkov over the holiday. Has anyone else here been playing it? It is pretty darn intense.

If you want a true 'hardcore' FPS with minimalistic HUD, where you have to rely heavily on sound, sight, and tactics, then this game is for you. It is worth checking out.

No doubt a beautiful game, but due to it's long/continuous development cycle and resulting uninspiring content, I think I'll pass for now.

Hmmm, I wonder which one will come out of Alpha/Beta first; DayZ or Star Citizen.

Yeah, but by slowing down your phone, their salesmen tech support guys can tell you your phone is dying and convince you to upgrade.

Funny enough, none of them EVER mention that a new battery would make that phone feel like new. Each and every one of them goes for the "You can get a 8 for just 800 bucks!"

Fuck Apple.

Cuz those batteries are now glued in place in cases that are glued in place. Changing them is nearly impossible, and surely violates the TOS. So convenient, for Apple (and Samsung).

Yeah that is what I thought, not sure what Simon is going on about, probably an Android phone, but this is specifically a Apple related issue that is being discussed.

If Apple was so noble, they would tell you that, due to the current state of your battery we are now running your system at a reduced rate and list aprox what that is. Right?

Everything Apple does is very carefully/shrewdly calculated clearly in their favor.

"Then, since no net neutrality means your ISP can do deep packet inspection and whatever to your traffic, AND since the police, as shown, is utterly incapable of an IP address resolution, you're bound to get arrested at some point because some guy four counties over was reading a post about how the Republicans are ruining the US for the sake of the rich.

FYI, in case anyone else is an IZombie fan, Dying Light is always the Zombie killing game they play during the show. Lighter

Agreed, Dying Light is an awesome game, especially CoOp play, which is the best I've ever played.

But yeah, they primed the pump with the free DLC, saying, "Hey, look at us, how great we are releasing all this free DLC for our game", only to end the marketing campaign with crap paid DLC. If it was map extensions and/or extra campaigns, it would been more acceptable, but this was just a disappointing move. Disappointed

What I wonder is, how is that dude CEO of Eidos-Montreal and this tone deaf with the whole EA/Loot box situation......

You say "Online experience" and I think lootboxes and gambling. Yeah, that's a great and totally innocent association to draw up currently, way to goo, Mr Anfossi

Here's the thing: paying money for stuff, a little or a lot, is pain. Games are pleasure. Most of us like to get our pain over with one time, at the start, then have our pleasure for a nice long time. We don't want to be constantly mixing our pleasure and pain by having to pay niggly amounts for "online experiences."

If I wanted pain with my pleasure, I'd be into BDSM. I'm not.

Your post triggered this song.....

I'm with you, but I wouldn't say they're the worst. There are a lot of games that have been developed in 3PS only, but would have been a lot better with an FPS option. I'm no doubt a FPS snob, but I have tried numerous times to acclimate to a 3PS, but it is too aggravating. I wish developers were just develop the game like Fallout 3/4 and/or GTAV where the player is given the option.
