Blue's News... home of the Negative Nellies.

I played the Titanfall Beta, not expecting much at first, but in the end found that I was actually having fun playing it. Now with that being said, is it worth $60 for an MP only game, I don't think so.

Downloaded the 25GB install and played for about 1.5 hours... promptly uninstalled the game. What a garbage game.

At least they are offering refunds to anyone with a 32-bit OS. If this was EA those people would be screwed.

News Comments > EA Taking Lessons From Launching BF4
14. Re: EA Taking Lessons From Launching BF4 Jan 29, 2014, 10:39 Kegaro

I had no intention of buying this game because I knew it would suck, but a bunch of people in the clan I play with were playing it. So I pick it up about a month after launch. I managed to get about 12 hours of game play in before I completely abandoned and uninstalled the game. I should have stuck to my guns and never picked it up...
So what did I learn from this experience. Go with your gut, stick to your guns, and never trust that anything EA produces will be "innovative" and "stable".

10. Re: WARFACE Goes Live Next Week Oct 15, 2013, 14:41 Kegaro

It's a multiplayer FPS like the rest, with some Co-Op missions added in for good measure. They get you with microtransactions on things like boost's, skin's, and the like. You can rent items for X amount of days or buy them permanently with in-game cash you grind out or real cash if you are the impatient type.

Specialist is still the overplayed class, and there are claymores around every corner. Other then that, it's a pretty solid game.

First thing I thought of while watching the trailer was... This reminds me of APB.

I'll check it out if it ever comes to the PC.

Excuse me that is complete nonsense!, it is pay to win all the way. Spend some time on how runes work, you might grasp why people call it pay-to-win!

I know how runes & enchantments work. I know that there is a 1% success rate on a fuse attempt for weapon and armor enchantments and that you basically have to use a coalescence ward to get any attempt to work. But you can get your coalescence wards by using your celestial coins every seven days. No, it's not guaranteed that you get one every time, but you do get them, and the more characters you have the greater the chance you have of getting them.

It's the have to have it now mentality. Yes, there are people out there will to pay $10 a pop for a CW from the ZEN shop. But there are others, like myself that will play for the sake of playing and eventually get all the items they want without having to pay for it.

Now if there was no way for me to get a CW other then through the ZEN shop, then yes, I would say that that constitutes pay to win. But the fact that I can get them, albeit time consuming, to me does not constitute a pay to win game.

It's not pay to win, it's pay to have right now. Everything in game is obtainable without having to pay for anything. Other then a few cosmetic things, that aren't game changing.

4. Re: Neverwinter Free & Premium Content Next Month Jul 16, 2013, 12:11 Kegaro

Correct, there is no need to spend any money on this game at all. I have been playing it since release and have 3 level 60 characters and one level 50. I haven't spent a dime in-game and have played well over 100+ hours at this point. Also, you can get around the 2 character limit by simply creating another account with another email address, which is what I did.

The founders/expansion packs are for those people ("suckers") that want and must have all the new shiny things.

I have been playing in the beta for a while. I came back to it from time to time, but like shihonage said it seemed pointless and was rather boring after a few hours. I haven't logged into it for a few months, so I am not sure what they have added or changed with the open beta version.

I'm not clear how this whole bankruptcy thing works...

First off, if they could have gotten $26 million for Relic, couldn't they have just done that earlier and kept going?

Secondly, are they still bankrupt after getting $72 million?

I realize I'm looking at these numbers as insane amounts of money, and they may not be (in this scenario), but still... Quality games are made for 10% of some of those numbers.

-Alamar

First they have to use the money to pay off any and all debt. Then they will have to pay the legal team. Then, if there is anything left they will have to pay share holders... So basically they are still broke and finished as a company.

I've been playing Ghost Recon Online since phase 1 of the North American closed beta, and you don't need to install UPLAY to download or play GRO.

News Comments > DICE: Battlefield 3 Beta "Mission Accomplished"
19. Re: DICE: Battlefield 3 Beta Oct 17, 2011, 12:25 Kegaro

The one thing I learned from the beta was to cancel my pre-order. Yes, it was beta code, I understand that. But the game itself did absolutely nothing for me. After playing the beta for roughly 5 hours I had no desire to play the game at all. I even used the passwords that were floating around at the time to play the Caspian Border map, still nothing. I also didn't particularly care for the who Origin thing either. When I click a game icon on my desktop I want it to launch the game, not a browser... I'm not trying to play farmville, I'm trying to play Battlefield for fucks sake.

Anyone remember 1nsane Racing? Now that's a game that needs a sequel/remake. Multiplayer in that game was a blast.
