62. WTH is he talking about? Nov 17, 2012, 21:54 Darth Guybrush

Just bought Guild Wars 2 - not on the Microsoft Store. Installed fine. Same with Carrier Command.

For cost effectiveness DVD/CD/BLURAY is cheaper. For a fall back option essential. I still have 3.5" floppies with data I can no longer access...

Then again I wasn't going to downgrade to Win8 anyways, my Win7 is perfectly fine and serves me right so it is all good.

Agreed! Win7 is just fine! Tried the Win8 preview and too many incompatibilities.

10. No DVD/BluRay by default? May 5, 2012, 07:07 Darth Guybrush

Author of said articale said he had no optical drive "for years". How the hell do you install still a a majority of software (games for example) without one?

Sometimes it is a LOT cheaper to buy online a physical product than it is via Steam or Origin I find. End result is they use one of the two or (cough) Games for Windows but without an optical drive you are screwed.

I heard a developer posted today (somewhere here on Blues I think) that people by the Wii for the Sports and Fit games. That's it! No market for anything else on it. Sad but true.

14. Ditto! Apr 18, 2012, 08:49 Darth Guybrush

The CODs are frequent visitors to the Steam top 10.

I have them all on PC and enjoy them - I am just not into the multiplayer side - or a fanatic at least. So many other great games and so little spare time.

Personally if Activision keep charging AUD$99.00 for a game that has been out for ages reeks of greed [how long since MW3 was released?].

And with games like Skyrim with FREE mods and worthy others like Kingdoms of Amalur, the recently updated Witcher 2. Sheesh!

31. There is always Origin! Apr 11, 2012, 23:59 Darth Guybrush

Oh wait that is EA only and crucial features like taking a screenshot are not supported (and only complicated by clients like Raptr).

Steam is at least stable and well supported.

Well minus EA that is...

Easier to crack on Steam more like. So in that respect I don't care either way.

However Bulletstorm (GFWL) was pirated so badly there will be no BS2 so?

Apparently replay value will by high just for looking around.

If sales are good (and they look very like that already - even on Steam) who know?

At least until the Pirate fuck it up like they apparently did for Bulletstorm 2...

Download speed on Steam is pretty low for some reason... Only averaging about 250Kb per second. WAY way lower than what I usually get. Is it THAT POPULAR? lol. Next one for download is the new Men At War due tomorrow sometime...

Yup running certain games as Admin (Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on Steam springs to mind) can often work.

Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 however myself and many other no joy!

Star Wars: Force Unleashed II - no joy on modern systems via Steam and Lucasarts don't seem to give a fuck. So why risk cash on a game (good as it was) THAT old?
