world war 1? So your units are: "Guy with rifle" and "guy with rifle in tower" and "Sopwith Camel"?

Oh come on, WWI was far more exciting that that. Trench warfare was only a minor part of the whole thing. Hell, there was Mine Warfare, as in underground, and it was as terrifying as it sounds.

Anyone interested in that era I recommend A World Undone, a brilliant book that explains WWI from the beginning to the end. Quite heartbreaking in fact when you realize how easy it was to have avoided WWI and all the evils it brought to this world.

I'll take a risk and say that Win8 may be the least sold Windows OS version for desktop PCs ever. I can't see anyone who cares about their PCs getting Win8, it offers nothing compared to Win7, in fact it takes away stuff.

Confirming game runs like crap on a 3930k and GTX680 as soon as you leave the tutorial. Turning off options yields no results. AVOID

Sounds like a poorly optimized, shitty console port at that.

And since the dev house that made this has been shut down by Acti some time ago the chances of a PC patch are 0 and none.

So people spent decades waiting for D3 for... this?

Ah well we saw it a mile away, shame people rushed to buy it all the same.

but I do understand why some people thing patents are good in these areas.

Has anyone else noticed how often people have been typing the word "think" as "thing" lately? I'm seeing it at least once a day on average. I'm not a spelling Nazi or anything, but I do wonder why it has been happening so often.

Disclaimer: My spelling and typing skills are average at best and I too have typed thing when I have meant to say think.

Autocomplete can be a pain.

Yeah, I thing that could be the reason more than what I said.

I see whet you did there!

The patent system is so, so broken. It gives birth to so many patent trolls that I'm surprised nobody took steps to stop this.

But they are.

I dunno, it seems to me that it might be a better idea to simply say "screw consoles" and release games directly on oh...steam.

There's a reason Al-Jazeera is becoming the best news channel around and that's because they at least aren't as insanely biased as most channels around.

In the 50s it was rock'n'roll that made lunatics kill
In the 60s it was the comics
In the 70s it was the TV
In the 80s it was the movies
In the 90s it was D&D

Fucking hell I'm tired of these hysterical moral panics.

Looks like Spellbound's "Desperados", released back in 2001.

Well, nobody is expecting top-notch graphics. In fact this is far better looking than most of the KS backers were expecting.

This is a game all about the gameplay and the graphics take a backseat. He did raise a lot of money but not that much money to actually get real pretty graphics, this shows that the game will use good enough graphics to serve the gameplay and that's all I could want.

Horror is found in many different ways, and not all of it has to be supernatural - very human serial killers can be and often are great horror fodder. But I think the common variable is always the perception of invulnerability, be it an untouchable supernatural force or a brilliant human killer who leaves no trace, doesn't make mistakes, and is always one step ahead of the police.

This statement left me wanting to play "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" again. Or "Amnesia". I almost want to say I would like to see a AAA shot at a Lovecraftian tale, but I know better. In order to pull in AAA required unit sales I don't think I'd like what would be done to the source material.

Lovecraftian horror is at both time extremely hard and extremely simple to pull and Amnesia nailed it. Protagonists in Lovecraft tales are as helpless as a baby facing whatever insanity they face, no matter what weapons they carry. It makes the protagonist vulnerable at every time. Heck, when Inspector Legrasse met the cultists in the swamp, even though his men were heavily armed a couple of them fainted from the insane scene they faced.

Lovecraftian horror is all about making the reader feel as vulnerable as the protagonists no matter what the protagonist has or does and the simple ingenious design of Amnesia nails it. It's all about fearing the unknown and this is something that either game developers get it right (and when they get it right they sure fucking get it right) or get it wrong and the game falls all over the place.

Graphically that's actually far beyond what I was expecting from this project. Of course with Wasteland it's all about the gameplay - keep it true to the original above all else. I'm still wondering why Coreplay/Kalypso didn't do that for Jagged Alliance Back in Action.

Agreed, i was actually expecting a top-down game like the original, this looks like the originals Fallouts, both 1 and 2. He is asking for feedback on the screen though and if I have to say, the orange of the sand may be a bit too much.. orangey? A bit too vivid a color for the sand and that's all I can find slightly negatively on the screenshot.

This is going to be a long, long year and a half of waiting time but I've got a feeling that Wasteland 2 is going to be the best RPG in years.

Krovven keeps talking, continuing to embarrass himself further, simply uncapable of knowing when to quit...

You want to see how an actual adult behaves? I'll show you. This little pissing match is over. Done. Continue on with your angry, melodramatic, obsessed ramblings on your own. When a young child is throwing a tantrum in public and making an ass out themselves and won't stop often the best thing is just ignore him or her until they get over it. I'm done with it - completely done paying you the slightest bit of attention to you. When you stop behaving like a lunatic, I'll gladly forget your little episode ever happened. (Until the next one, and I'll follow the same steps).

You have serious issues dude. Get some help. Really.

So... Wasteland 2 has the first in-game pic. Looks pretty nice.

Then again I guess pity can be over in an instant if the person keeps acting like an asshole. My advice for him to get professional medical help still stands.

Sorry nin, I won't quote what Krovven said because there's really nothing worthy for you to read. I guess the only good news on what he said is that he is no longer on the Steam group.

The gameplay videos of DS3 don't offer much hope of scares though, it looks like the usual third person shooter with monsters.

I'm actually starting to wonder if he has a mental illness of some sort which is why I am feeling pity, I mean, fanboys can go so far before the facts hit them right in the face but Krovven just simply goes on and on and on and on oblivious of reality. Maybe he needs professional help.
